What can be wrapped in pita bread

A hearty appetizer comes out with the addition of:

  • meat - pork, beef, lamb, chicken or turkey, which is fried, stewed or cooked in a slow cooker;
  • fish - salted, smoked, boiled, fried, baked;
  • vegetables - fresh, pickled or after heat treatment;
  • dairy products - cheese, cottage cheese;
  • liver and kidney;
  • mushrooms;
  • pasta and various cereals;
  • seafood - caviar, shellfish and crab sticks.

What sauce can you use

Mayonnaise is great for lavash, especially homemade. It is made by beating egg yolks with sugar, salt and mustard. A little oil is gradually poured into this mixture, and when it takes on the consistency of the dough, vinegar. To enrich the taste, you can add lemon juice, crushed garlic, ketchup, finely chopped pickles to the sauce.

You can also use sour cream-mayonnaise sauce, which, in addition to the main two ingredients, includes herbs, garlic, pepper and salt. First, the finely chopped ingredients are poured with rustic sour cream with 20% fat, and then with homemade mayonnaise, and spices are added.

How to serve lavash roll

It all depends on the filling, as some recipes suggest fried or baked rolls. And, if the filling is sweet, then you can pour it with syrup before serving, and decorate the salted one with herbs. The roll can be cut in portions and served in the form of rolls.

Can I freeze for future use?

It is unacceptable. In the freezer, pita bread is not soaked, and the liquid from the filling freezes like ordinary water. When it thaws, the roll will just creep away.

I think that you have already guessed what I am going to tell and show you today. Yes, yes, I, as always, have prepared excellent photo and video recipes for you. I think that your eyes will run wild, but you will be able to pull yourself together and choose suitable options for yourself.

There are many more different cooking options with popular ones, I highly recommend. And, of course, I will still write many, many interesting recipes for all sorts of salads. So, come to me and find the most interesting.

Now let's go back to our rolls and get acquainted with interesting recipes for their preparation. All of them are made very quickly, which is why they have become so popular at all holidays. Although, no, not because, or rather not only because. They are just delicious and that's it.

To prepare such a snack, you need to take sheet thin rectangular pita bread. If you have it too big, just cut it in half or even in thirds.

The most popular for such rolls are the fillings with crab sticks, due to the simplicity of their preparation. In addition, such fillers are usually obtained on a budget, but very satisfying and tasty. And you can wrap them in different ways. Here and below we will consider several such options.

Ingredients:

  • Lavash - 4 pieces
  • Crab sticks - 200 gr
  • Hard cheese - 200 gr
  • Boiled eggs - 4 pcs
  • Any fresh herbs - 1 bunch
  • Mayonnaise

Preparation:

1. First of all, cut the crab sticks into cubes and place them in the first layer on the unrolled pita bread. If you have a large one, divide it by the size you need, mine is 30 * 30 cm. Align them evenly around the entire perimeter. And pour a little mayonnaise on top, I do it with a mesh.

2. Cover them on top with a second sheet of pita bread. Then lay out a layer of grated eggs on a coarse grater. Also smooth and pour with mayonnaise.

3. Put a sheet of pita bread again and cover it with a layer of grated cheese. Pour it with mayonnaise with a mesh too.

4. Put in the last pita bread. Greens, I have dill and parsley, finely chop and spread on top. Once again, for the last time, drizzle with mayonnaise. All layers are ready.

5. Now wrap everything tightly in the sausage. Then wrap it in plastic wrap so that it does not unfold and put it in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours.

6. After it is soaked, remove and cut into portions. Such a roll can be put on a festive table, or you can please yourself with it on a weekday.

Delicious pita roll with crab sticks, melted cheese and egg

As I promised above, I present another option with crab meat. The same lightweight and fast execution. Perhaps you will like the personalized one. For lubrication, I take a soft cream cheese, such as "Friendship".

Ingredients:

  • Thin lavash - 2 sheets (about 30 * 30 cm)
  • Crab sticks - 200 gr
  • Eggs - 4 pieces
  • Cucumber - 1 piece (long)
  • Processed cheese - to taste
  • Mayonnaise to taste

Preparation:

1. Cut the crab sticks into small cubes. Boil eggs in salted water and cool. Then clean and grate on a coarse grater. Do the same with the cucumber.

2. Place the cling film on the table. Lay a sheet of pita bread on it. Spread the melted cheese on it in a thin layer.

A silicone spatula will be an excellent assistant in this matter. It is very convenient to smear with it. If you don't have it yet, be sure to get it.

3. Place a layer of crab sticks on top of the cheese. Smooth them evenly over all surfaces. Then cover with a net of mayonnaise. And on top is a layer of eggs.

4. Now cover the second pita bread and brush it with mayonnaise. Lay cucumbers on it in a thin layer. It is better to use a fork so that the released cucumber juice does not get into our snack. If desired, you can add a little salt.

5. Carefully start rolling the roll from the long side. Then wrap it with cling film, on which the pita bread was first laid. If the sausage is too long, you can divide it in half and wrap it in plastic. Place them in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to soak.

6. When they are soaked, remove them from the refrigerator, peel them off and cut into portions. Then place nicely on a serving plate.

2. In principle, the result is a ready-made salad, but we are moving on. Now take a sheet of pita bread and spread half of the prepared mixture evenly over its entire surface.

3. Next step. Cover the top with a second pita bread, and then evenly apply the rest of the salad on it. Then start rolling the roll along the long side.

4. Send it to the refrigerator for two hours to soak, then cut into portions. Now they can be put on the festive table.

Festive roll with salmon and cheese in lavash

  • Lightly salted salmon fillet - 250 gr
  • Soft cream cheese - 200 gr
  • Pita
  • Dill greens

Preparation:

1. Grease a sheet of pita bread with cream cheese. Trim the edges if necessary, although I usually don't. All the same, then wrap it up. Cut the fish fillet into pieces and lay out in the next layer in three rows. Place small sprigs of dill around the edge and between the rows.

2. The second step is simply to wrap everything in a roll and wrap with cling film. As already described above, put such a sausage in the refrigerator for several hours.

3. It can be taken out of the refrigerator after two hours. This time is quite enough for it to soak. Free it from the film and cut into portions.

Ingredients:

  • 2 plates of thin pita bread;
  • 200 grams of processed cheese;
  • 200 grams of salmon;
  • 100 grams of red caviar.

Cooking method:

  1. We start working with pita bread: unfold it and grease it with melted cream cheese. If you wish, you can take cheese with additives, for example, the smack of mushrooms or ham will be appropriate.
  2. We grease the pita bread carefully, it is important that future rolls are not damaged, so do not rush.
  3. Cut the salmon into slices, it is not necessary to grind the fish too much, neat oblong pieces will fall into place.
  4. Spread the salmon evenly on the pita bread, add red caviar (you can sprinkle the caviar first, then spread the fish, some housewives claim that it is more convenient this way).
  5. Twist the roll tightly. Now it must be wrapped in cling film and sent to the refrigerator for several hours so that the snack is thoroughly soaked.
  6. Take the rolls out of the refrigerator and cut them obliquely into pieces about 3 centimeters.

  • 175 g red smoked fish

  2. Chop the crab sticks into thin strips and cut the pepper in the same way. It is important to consider that the thinner the ingredients are cut, the better the roll will roll. Layer the sticks and peppers in the next layer;
  3. Then, put another sheet, and not put the pre-dried salad. The last sheet should be greased with mayonnaise and thin slices of fish should be put on it. Gently roll up a tight roll and wrap with cling film. Leave in refrigerator for 2 hours and serve. You need to cut it with a sharp knife soaked in water.

Lavash roll with cheese and herbs

Insanely light, but very tasty and beautiful appetizer! Believe me, this dish can surprise even the most demanding gourmets! Soft and juicy Armenian lavash, delicious cheese filling, which is accompanied by a delicate aroma of garlic, and a slight aftertaste of fresh herbs ... Well, who can resist such a treat!

Ingredients:

  • processed cheeses - 400-500 g
  • chicken eggs - 4 pcs.
  • garlic - 3-4 cloves
  • thin lavash (Armenian) - 3 pcs.
  • chopped dill - 3 tablespoons
  • head of lettuce - 1 pc.
  • mayonnaise to taste

Cooking method:

  1. So, first of all, we put the eggs to boil (of course, cool). Then we cool them down and clean them. We rub the peeled eggs on a coarse grater or finely chop them with a knife (or knead with a fork).
  2. After that, grate the processed cheese (or you can crush it with the same fork). We disassemble the salad into separate leaves, rinse them thoroughly and dry them (put them on a paper towel). If you wish, you can grind them a little (or just tear them with your hands), however, as a rule, the leaves are laid out whole.
  3. We wash the dill greens very well under running cold water (by the way, it doesn't have to be only dill, you can safely use any of your favorite greens). We dry it and chop it finely.
  4. Mix the chopped eggs with melted cheese, and then add the chopped greens to the cheese-egg mixture. Peel the garlic and chop it very finely (either rub it on a fine grater, or pass it through a garlic press). Then we send it to eggs with cheese and herbs.
  5. After that, fill the resulting filling with mayonnaise and mix everything very thoroughly. It should be noted that the more mayonnaise you put, the better the pita bread will be saturated and thus softer. However, do not overdo it so that your filling simply does not float out of the roll.
  6. We spread one thin fresh sheet of Armenian lavash on a comfortable work surface, and lettuce leaves on it. Now put the cheese and egg filling on the salad. Then we spread the next sheet of pita bread and repeat the procedure. Put the pita bread again (already the last one), after the greens and the filling.
  7. Next, wrap the pita bread in a roll (try to squeeze it more tightly while twisting). We wrap the finished roll in cling film (foil or a simple plastic bag) and send it to the refrigerator to infuse for about an hour and a half (or better - for a couple of hours).
  8. Serving a roll of lavash with melted cheese to the table, cut it into portioned equal pieces (approximately 2-3 centimeters wide) and put them on a beautiful dish, which you can decorate with lettuce leaves, herbs, cherry tomatoes or olives.

Lavash rolls with melted cheese and tomatoes

Ingredients:

  • thin pita bread 1 piece
  • soft processed cheese 100 g
  • pommidor 2 pcs
  • sprigs of parsley and dill 6 pcs
  • vegetable oil
  • 10 g green
  • onion feathers 3 pcs

Cooking method:

  1. This dish is very simple to prepare. For it, we need thin Armenian lavash, it is better to buy lavash in the shape of a rectangle, it looks better in a ready-made dish, because it has smooth edges and, accordingly, rolls more conveniently into a roll.
  2. Lavash should be soft and not burnt (this happens), otherwise we will have to fry it anyway, but more on that later. As for cheese, it is better to use processed soft cheese (like "Viola", "Hochland") with a classic creamy taste.
  3. To begin with, we take our lavash and over the entire surface (on one side) we coat it with a not thick layer of cheese (2-3 mm).
  4. Now dice the tomatoes and finely chop the herbs. We spread tomatoes on pita bread with cheese, then greens. We spread it over the entire surface of the pita bread, but not in a very thick layer, that is, pieces of tomato and greens should be fairly free from each other.
  5. We heat a frying pan with vegetable oil over high heat and spread our roll to fry. Within a few minutes, the roll acquires a golden brown crust (do not overexpose the pita bread in the pan, it will turn out tough).
  6. Once one side is fried, turn the roll over and fry on the other side.
  7. Cut the fried roll into portioned mini-rolls and serve. This dish is great both warm and cold. Great for picnics. The taste is soft creamy with subtle hints of greenery. In short, very tasty, I advise everyone to try it.

  7. We lay out two pita breads on the table, one on top of the other, that is, the base of the roll is two-layer.
  8. We distribute the filling evenly over the entire surface of the pita bread, leaving a couple of centimeters at the edges so that the filling does not fall out during the twisting process.

  11. Put sour cream on the surface of each roll (about 1 tbsp per piece) and distribute evenly.

  13. The total baking time is 15 minutes at a temperature of 200 degrees.
  14. In principle, instead of an oven, you can use a microwave oven with a grill, so that the cheese melts and the roll is fried.
  15. These are the two "handsome" turned out. Of course, they were immediately cut and eaten mercilessly.
  16. True, by some miracle, several pieces survived until morning, and were eaten cold.

After that, we wrap the roll tightly in cling film (or foil) and send it to the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours (so that it is properly saturated with the filling).
  7. Then we take out the finished roll, carefully cut it into portioned pieces (2-3 cm wide) and put them on a beautiful dish (if desired, you can decorate it with fresh salad leaves and vegetables).

  11. Mushroom roll can be served on the festive table. For dinner, this may not be enough, but for breakfast and a snack just right.
  12. Before serving, remove the cling film and cut the pita roll with mushrooms and cheese into portions about 2 centimeters wide. Gently lay out the pieces on a platter and decorate with a parsley leaf on top.
