Bread is not only the head of everything, but also the most diverse product on the planet: these are lush white yeast loaves at a Ukrainian wedding, and the famous Lithuanian black custard bread, which can be eaten as an independent dish in general. This is also thin lavash, which in Armenia is baked together and for future use, bending over the fire-breathing vents of tandoors. And tacos in Mexico and Central America, and hollow loaves of Italian ciabatta, and even a little strange for bread sweet rice steamed cakes in China.

This variety is natural - we need energy, for this we need carbohydrates, and the easiest way is to get them from bread during the working day.

Now you know that making Uzbek flatbreads at home is easy. They can be served with the first course instead of regular bread, or you can eat them just like that, washed down with kefir or yogurt.

Hello everyone! The other day I was saving kefir so that it doesn't go missing ал. The result is great homemade cakes.

Of course, I wanted to make homemade cakes, like my grandmother's, but, not knowing her recipe even approximately, I decided to trust my favorite female logic. Logic did not disappoint, it is not for nothing that she is female. The result is excellent cakes.

True, they look like grandmothers only in appearance. And the taste is different, but also very sincere. I feel that soon they will have to be performed as an encore (the husband transparently hints at them with the words: "When will you still bake your cakes?").

To make homemade tortillas in the oven, we need:

  • 2 glasses of kefir
  • 100 g butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp soda without top and vinegar
  • 6-7 cups flour

Homemade tortillas, recipe:

Combine softened butter with sugar, salt, eggs, stir well. Then we add kefir, soda slaked with vinegar, gradually (after a while) add flour and knead an elastic dough, not too steep (leave half a glass of flour on the backing).

Now let the dough stand a little at room temperature - about half an hour. During this time, you can just cook in the microwave and.

After the allotted time (by me), pour flour on the table and roll out the dough into a layer about 1 cm thick with our hands or a rolling pin. I hasten to note that I previously divided the dough into two equal pieces, and put one piece in a plastic bag in the refrigerator to prepare a fresh portion of cakes the next day. Why? Because all the dough at one time will definitely not fit on the baking sheet. And to charge the oven with the second portion of tortillas is somehow lazy. And in general, no matter how much you bake, everything cracks up in one evening, and the next day there will be (if any) miserable crumbs. Besides, gluttony is a sin 🙂. And according to my version, you get a normal amount of cakes for two nights. Moreover, the remaining dough can be frozen, if the next day the cakes are not planned.

So, we roll out the dough and cut out the circles rolled in flour (I mean, rub the edges of the glass with flour) circles and put them on a baking sheet. Roll out the remaining scraps of dough again and cut out our potential cakes until the dough is finished.

Now we prick the circles lying on the baking sheet with a fork in two or three places so that they bake more evenly, and send them to the heated oven for about 30-40 minutes, until they have a ruddy color and a delicious smell. The standard temperature is 180 degrees, at the end of baking it can be slightly higher to brown.

That's all, delicious homemade cakes are ready. Hope you find it useful.
