Puff pastry snowflakes. # 6 Salted dough candlestick house: decorating the house for the New Year

15.04.2019 Soups
Salty snowflakes. Express method

I was faced with the fact that many have not heard of this method, but meanwhile it helps VERY out if you need to quickly arrange something or if you sculpt with children. Kids don't really understand the phrase "We must wait". The method is really quick, with the help of it I made enough material in one day to arrange a showcase. I will make a snowflake, the New Year is just around the corner! So, we need:

dough (1 part salt + 2 parts flour + a little vegetable oil + water),

brush, paints (today I have acrylic)

form for cutting a circle (I took the lid from a glass of sour cream)

microwave

I sculpt directly on a dish from the microwave and, without lifting a snowflake, I bake on it right away. The product should be completely dehydrated and become hard, uniform in color - this is an indicator that it is ready. It can be easily removed with a blade or a sharp knife.

IMPORTANT! According to the instructions for use of the microwave oven, heating of a small volume is not allowed, so do not forget to put a glass of water next to your snowflake. Observe safety precautions, be careful, make sure that no metal objects (cutters, blades) fall into the stove.

In order to get an even beautiful snowflake, you need to find the middle correctly and strictly observe the so-called axes.

If, at the final stage, you "grab" the dough in one more place, you will get another snowflake.

Baking power 400, time 5 minutes. First I tint the finished snowflake with dark paint, then white and a little gold. I wanted vintage!

New Year's greetings to the kids

Everyone is waiting for the coming of the family and a good New Year's holiday in the family. As you know, the Christmas tree is a symbol of this most beloved holiday. And you can't do without New Year's toys for the tree. Now in the store and on the market there is a huge selection of various decorations for the Christmas tree.

But I still want to do something with my own hands. A hand-made little thing will look perfect on a Christmas tree. Doing this kind of handicraft is very interesting for our children. When making New Year's decorations, be sure to bring children to your team.

So let's try to make our own Christmas snowflakes. Various materials can be used to make them - salted dough, foil, paper, and even dry pasta. And, if you have the skill of crocheting, then knitted snowflakes will look perfect on the New Year's beauty.

We start making New Year's fabulous snowflakes from salt dough. There are two ways to make snowflakes from dough. First you need to prepare the salty dough itself. To do this, take one part of flour, two parts of plain water and one part of salt. It is recommended to add a little more vegetable oil to these ingredients. Thanks to this, the dough will become elastic.

Now you need to make thin sausages from it, from which to make a monogram. The sausage tips are rolled up into neat spirals and connected so that a loop is formed. The first snowflake element is ready. The second element is the eyelet, which is simple and easy to do. The dough sausage is neatly folded into a loop, and the excess ends are cut off.

To make one such snowflake, you need to prepare four monograms and twelve loops of salt dough. In the center there must be a small dough circle. Monograms are located around it, with spirals inside our snowflakes. Between the spirals of the monograms, four loops are placed with a cone down. Eight loops with a cone on top are placed between the loops of the monograms. The snowflake is ready!

You can also make a snowflake from a whole piece of dough. From the dough, by rolling, you need to make a narrow layer. Using a stencil, cut out the snowflake, in which you then make holes for the tape. After drying, it needs to be painted with white paint and decorated with toffee or curls. The Christmas tree decoration is ready!

Foreword:
Salted dough is an environmentally friendly material that resembles plasticine. It is harmless, non-staining, odorless and non-allergenic. Salted dough when sculpting provides such opportunities for imagination, which are not available when working with other soft materials. Both adults and children can make crafts from salt dough.

Tools and materials:
Cling film
Patterned napkin
Half a glass of flour
Salt half a glass
Brush
PVA glue
Blue gouache
Container for kneading salted dough
Mold
Cloth for hands

Progress:
Take an empty container, pour flour and salt.

While adding a little cold water, knead the tough modeling dough.

Next, take a mold (by the way, I did not buy a mold specifically, I got it from the store from a ready-made salad) and put a cling film in the inside (so that the salty dough does not stick and it is easier to pull out the product).

Then fill the mold with salted dough by a third, as if you were smoothing it with your fingers.

Remove the product from the mold and place it on paper (newspaper)

We make a hole for the string and leave to dry (in a natural way, just on the table for 24 hours)

After our future craft has dried, we take a napkin (you only need a drawing on the entire side of the product), a brush (preferably a "spatula") and PVA glue diluted in water 1: 1.

Put a napkin on the future craft and apply glue with a brush dipped in a solution from the center to the edges.

Cut off the excess and wrap the edges with a wet brush in glue. And leave to dry.

After the napkin has dried, prepare a glass of water, a brush and blue gouache.

Turn the craft over and use gouache to draw a snowflake along the contour (if any).

The finished craft can be varnished (for nails) or sparkles can be added. Tie a string and can be hung on the New Year tree or presented as a souvenir for the New Year.

Snowflakes, snowflakes
On Ninka's cheeks,
Stuck in pigtails
Hang on eyelashes
Get in the way of watching.
I put it in my palm
I wanted a little
Warm the snowflakes.
I pressed it tight
But what happened to them?
What a disaster!
Snowflakes are gone
In the palm of Ninka
Only one water!

Happy New Year!

A wonderful time, festive and magical is the New Year, for which adults and children prepare gifts and souvenirs for friends and loved ones. You don't have to shop in the store, you can make delicious gifts yourself using materials at hand, such as puff pastry. Crafts are original, bright. Christmas trees are decorated with unique toys and used as original and unusual souvenirs.

To create crafts, salty dough, paints, beads, ribbons, rhinestones and other materials are prepared to decorate a gift, make it extraordinary, exclusive, and delightful. Hand-made crafts have a soul, because they are created sincerely, with inspiration.

Salty dough recipe

To create a toy for the New Year's holiday, you will need to prepare salted dough. This requires ingredients:

  • Edible salt - 1 part;
  • Flour - 1 part;
  • Water - ½ part.

All dry ingredients are mixed in a bowl, gradually adding water. The resulting mixture should have a soft consistency, not stick to your hands, and not be too thick. Knead the dough thoroughly so that it does not crumble or crumble.

To make the dough white, add ¾ parts white acrylic paint to the ingredients.

Cold porcelain recipe

In addition to salt dough, for making crafts, you can use so-called cold porcelain, which looks more like polymer clay. You can easily make cold porcelain at home. To do this, you will need:

  • Baking soda - 1 part;
  • Corn or potato starch - 1 part;
  • Water - 1 part.

Pour dry ingredients into a frying pan and mix well. then add water and mix well again until a lump-free homogeneous mixture is formed. Put the pan with the mixture on low heat and cook, stirring constantly, for 1-3 minutes until thickened. Put the resulting mass on the table, let it cool to room temperature and knead it well for 2-3 minutes. Everything, cold porcelain is ready to use.

Store cold porcelain in a sealed plastic bag.

Drying crafts

There are several ways to dry salty dough or cold porcelain crafts. The first is natural. Leave the items for a few days in a dry and warm place. The thicker the layer of dough in the craft, the longer it will take to dry it completely. On average, it takes 24 hours to dry 1 millimeter of dough with natural drying. Crafts from cold porcelain dry much faster - 8-12 hours.

Used for drying and oven. It is heated as much as possible, and then ready-made crafts are put into it. After that, the oven must be turned off. Do not open it until it has completely cooled down.

Let's reveal a secret. Crafts will not stick to the baking sheet if covered with parchment paper.

We paint ready-made crafts

There are many ways to make dough gifts colorful. You can paint the dough or cold porcelain using various paints (oil, acrylic, gouache, etc.) and food colors, for this you need to add color to the finished mass and knead until a uniform color.

Roll out the painted dough with a rolling pin and create figures. Multi-colored products look delightful, they turn out to be bright, colorful.

Also, crafts are then painted using gouache, felt-tip pens, pens of different shades.

Toys are decorated with various accessories, ribbons, rhinestones, beads, sequins, and other items. Here you can embody all creative ideas, fantasies.

Salt dough gifts may vary. These are snowflakes and Christmas decorations, Santa Claus, a Christmas tree, the moon and various animals, hearts, flowers, and other decorations.

Making toys out of salt dough is fun. Children like making crafts, it perfectly develops fine motor skills of hands, cheers up. Adults can also get carried away with modeling. And the New Year's crafts, which are made by hand, will definitely please and admire.

# 18 Christmas candy for Christmas tree made from salted dough

For the development of fine motor skills of children, you can make a New Year's candy. To do this, prepare the dough in two colors (without dye and with dye). DIY Christmas trees from dough

It's hard to imagine a New Year without a Christmas tree. And it just so happened that it is the tree that decorates our homes during the New Year holidays. The green beauty with colorful lights makes this time of the year truly magical. So why not make the main symbol of the New Year in miniature as a gift to dear and close people. A very original craft will turn out from the test.

# 1 Miniature dough herringbone

You don't have to buy a real Christmas tree to decorate your home or office. A miniature forest beauty can be made at home from scrap materials, for example, from salted dough or cold porcelain (we described the recipes above). We form a cone from the sculpting mass, and then use scissors to "pinch off" the legs. For more realism, the legs can be slightly bent up. Next, we send the Christmas tree to dry. After complete drying, the craft can be additionally decorated, for example, with sparkles, beads, rhinestones, etc.

# 2 Herringbone Christmas tree toy for children

With kids, you can make an easier craft. Using a form from the dough, we cut out a Christmas tree, leave fingerprints in it and send it to dry. After the craft has completely dried, we paint it. Fingerprints can be decorated in the form of Christmas tree decorations, you can combine them with a strip and you get a garland, and if you slightly adjust the shape of the prints, making them more elongated, you can depict glowing lanterns. In general, there is no limit to the flight of imagination!

# 3 Simple Christmas tree made of dough: making Christmas crafts from scrap materials with children

Kids just love to sculpt, in addition, this activity is very useful for the development of fine motor skills. With the smallest, it's worth starting simple. Prepare the dough, roll it out and cut out a few trees (with or without a mold). There can be countless options for decor, for example, ribbon and sparkles (after drying), add openwork patterns (you can make an openwork napkin print before cutting the Christmas tree), or decorate the craft with buttons, beads, candies or marmalades. Buttons can be glued both before and after drying, but decorate with lollipops or marmalades before drying and dry in the oven (the lollipops will melt and look like glass decorations).

# 4 Bulky Christmas tree made of dough stars

If you think flat crafts are commonplace, you can make a voluminous Christmas tree, for example, from stars. To do this, you will need stars of different sizes (you can cut with a shape or blind yourself). In each star in the center, make a hole for the thread and send it to dry. After drying, string the stars on a string, and for greater originality, insert a bead between each link. We tie knots, cut off the excess and do-it-yourself voluminous Christmas tree from dough is ready!

# 5 DIY herringbone from salted dough

Another option for a Christmas tree made of stars for those who do not have cutting forms. It is very easy to make asterisks without a Thomas. To do this, cut out a circle, divide it into 5 sectors and shape each sector with your fingers as an arrow. Then stack the stars on top of each other and send the craft to the dryer. After complete drying, you can start decorating.

# 6 Miniature herringbone made from dough with garlic

An excellent herringbone from the dough is obtained using a garlic. It is better, of course, to pre-paint the dough with green pigment. Pass the dough through the garlic, and then gently glue these sausages to a paper cone. You can glue the dough at a moment. After drying, the Christmas tree can be additionally decorated with sparkles.

# 7 Another Christmas tree with a garlic

The original Christmas tree will turn out if the dough passed through the garlic maker is rolled into loops, and these loops are glued to the base cone. Outwardly, the Christmas tree will look like a craft made of threads. In general, unusual!

Decorating a Christmas tree is one of the most joyful and exciting experiences in every family. This is a reason to get everyone together and prepare your home for the long-awaited holiday.

If you want to somehow decorate the New Year tree in a special way, then you will like our master class. So, let's start creating New Year's snowflakes from salt dough.

For this you will need:

  • 2 cups of flour;
  • 1 cup salt
  • 1 table. a spoonful of lemon juice;
  • mixing water.

Combine all ingredients in a deep cup and dilute this mixture with water until the dough is elastic and smooth. Salted dough should not stick to your hands, make it as close as possible to plasticine.

Take a small piece of salted dough and roll it out into a 1.5-2 cm thick plate. Squeeze a snowflake onto a plate of salted dough using a mold. Show your imagination using snowflake shapes of different sizes, as shown in the photo. Remember to make a small hole in the snowflake so you can hang it on the tree.

Repeat these steps with the remaining test.

When all the snowflakes are ready, place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake the snowflakes for 4 hours in an oven preheated to 80 degrees Celsius. Check the items every 30 minutes to ensure they don't burn.

Salted dough snowflakes can also dry out without an oven. It is enough to leave them to dry in the fresh air for several days.

The edges of the finished products need to be slightly sanded with a nail file to get rid of unpleasant roughness.

After the salty dough dries up, you can proceed to the most pleasant stage - painting and decorating snowflakes.

You can paint salted dough products with special food dyes, watercolors, acrylics or gouache.

In our case, we will use silver acrylic paint. Using a thick brush, completely cover the surface of the snowflakes with paint.

After the paint has dried, use a thin brush to decorate the snowflakes with various patterns. There are no special rules here, show your imagination and paint the snowflakes at your discretion, decorate them with beads, beads or other decorative material.

To fix the color, cover the snowflakes with a layer of colorless varnish or transparent acrylic paint in several layers.
