Painting dark eggs for Easter. Methods for coloring Easter eggs

31.08.2019 Restaurant notes

Hello! If you came to this page, then you are wondering about. And I can assure you that you have come to the right place. Today I will try to fully understand all the questions that can arise on this topic.

More recently, we have considered. And more than one article was devoted to them. If you missed those episodes, I highly recommend reading it. Perhaps there is exactly the recipe you have been looking for for so long.

In the near future, I plan to write more than one article on the Easter theme, but today we are painting eggs in different ways at home.

Types of painting and coloring Easter eggs

There are still many different options for painting eggs for the Easter holiday. And one kind is better than the other. Only now, not everyone knows what is the correct name and how this or that type of painting is done. Therefore, I suggest that you first deal with this issue a little in order to have an idea of \u200b\u200bwhat we will be doing, and then continue to analyze the main topic.

So, there are 6 main types of painting and painting Easter eggs:

  • dyes - these are eggs, painted in one color without drawings and patterns. Basically, for a holiday, they paint in this way. This is the easiest and quickest way to get colored eggs in a wide variety of colors.

Both natural and food colorings can be used. If you approach this matter with all seriousness, you can get very bright and saturated colors;

  • easter eggs - perhaps the most difficult and painstaking type of painting. To get beautiful Easter eggs you need perseverance and patience. They are made as follows: patterns are applied to the egg with hot wax using a metal rod (feather). Then it is dipped in dye and kept as it is stained. You need to start with the lightest color.

After that, the patterns are again applied with wax and the egg is again dipped in a different dye and so on with the rest of the colors. After all the patterns are done, you need to get rid of the wax by piling it up from the surface of the egg with a candle.

Wipe the wax periodically with a cloth as it melts. I think the point is clear. It is also clear that this is a very painstaking and lengthy work, which will be rightfully appreciated;

  • dryapanki or shkrabanki - a very interesting and unusual type of painting, which also requires a lot of time and effort. Dryapanki are made using a sharp metal object (scissors, awl, knife, etc.). On a painted and dried egg, patterns are applied with a pencil and then this very pattern is scratched along this contour.

It is worth noting that it is best to take eggs of a brown shade for crab eggs, since their shells are harder and, therefore, it is more likely that the shell will not crack when the tip is pressed on it.

Also, in this case, natural, rather than food, are the best dyes, because the latter are strongly smeared during operation;

  • specks - this type of painting implies that specks, stripes and all kinds of specks of different colors are applied to the egg. They are made with wax. That is, various droplets of hot wax are applied to an egg colored in one tone, and then, this very egg is painted in a different color. Subsequently, the wax accumulates in the same way as in the case of Easter eggs;

  • malevanki - a suitable option for painting with children. You can turn on imagination and give a boiled egg a very festive look, simply by applying any pictures and patterns to it with paint. It turns out very cool;

  • eggs - this type of decoration for Easter eggs has been known for a very long time. They are made of carved stone, wood, porcelain. Not so long ago, it became fashionable to decorate eggs with threads, beads, lace, etc. Also, the well-known Faberge eggs are also nothing more than "eggs".

And of course, the thermal stickers that appeared not very long ago can also be attributed to one of the types of this wonderful art. Only to which of the above, I cannot say. Or maybe this is a separate direction of "painting", the name of which I do not know? In any case, it turns out very beautifully.

Well, here we figured out the question that everyone who is going to be engaged in painting and painting eggs for Easter should know. And now, let's move on to a detailed examination of how and with what one can decorate one of the main attributes of this wonderful holiday.

5 ways to beautifully paint eggs in onion skins:

The most common and, at the same time, the oldest dye is onion peel. And if earlier people used it as a dye according to one method, nowadays there are many different ways to get unusually beautiful and unique dyes.

In my opinion, we have selected for you only the brightest and most sophisticated ways, using which you will get very beautiful Easter eggs that will decorate any festive table with their presence.

Classic ways to color eggs with onion skins

And our selection will open with a standard, one might even say classic, option - this is a solid, even color of Easter eggs.

Only it can also be divided into 2 different ways - hot and cold. In fact, both the first and the second case need the same ingredients. The only difference is that the sequence of actions is different. And you yourself will decide how to do it better and more conveniently. For now, let's look at both ways.

We need:

  • onion peel

How to make dyes hot:

1. Wash raw eggs thoroughly with soapy water, preferably with a brush.

2. Put onion husks from ten onions in a saucepan, pour 1 liter of water and put on fire. After the water boils, boil it until the water turns dark brown for 40-45 minutes.

3. After that, take out the husk (you can not take it out) and send it to the resulting dye of the egg.

4. Cook for 10-15 minutes. To make the color more saturated, you can boil for longer.

5. Take out the painted, boiled eggs, dry them and rub them with a cotton swab moistened with vegetable oil.

We paint eggs with husks in a cold way:

1. Having prepared a decoction of onion husks, cool it, having previously filtered it to get rid of the husk.

2. Meanwhile, boil eggs until tender.

3. We send the cooled ready-made eggs to the cooled dye for several hours, depending on what shade you want to achieve.

In any case, the cold color will turn out to be less saturated, but for a change it is still worth doing.

In my opinion, the hot method is much easier and more convenient. Although the cold version also has its advantages - the color of the testicles becomes more delicate and even. This is probably due to the fact that the dye is gradually deposited on the surface of the shell.

In any case, it's up to you which method to use.

We make dyes with onion peel with a pattern:

To get some drawing, we just need to make some changes to the classic version, which is described above.

1. Before painting the egg, you need to apply stencils - beautiful leaves of parsley or dill, or any other greenery. For example, it turns out very nicely with small leaves of grapes. You can also use figures cut from waterproof material or something like that.

2. Then we wrap the egg with nylon or nylon stocking and tie the ends tightly with threads.

3. We paint in the usual way. By the way, this method is also suitable not only for onion skins, but also for other types of staining.

As a result, very beautiful prints are obtained, in the form of those stencils that you used.

Bright marbled color with brilliant green

We color our eggs with this method every year. And it turns out very beautifully. The testicles acquire a pattern very similar to marble. Conventionally, this method can be divided into 2 options - with brilliant green and without it. Let's consider both.

Option 1:

1. To get a beautiful marbled color, we need to chop the onion husk with scissors.

2. Then we take well washed raw eggs, moisten them with water and roll them in this "shavings" of the husk.

3. Tightly wrap the egg with gauze or old nylon tights and tie the ends tightly with thread.

The tighter the gauze adheres to the egg, the clearer the pattern will be.

4. We send eggs to a pot of water and put on fire.

5. After the water boils, cook the eggs for 20-25 minutes.

6. Take out and cool. After that, you can remove the gauze. Wipe the egg with a paper towel and rub until shine with vegetable oil.

Option 2:

This method is practically no different from the previous one, except that after boiling water, you need to add 1 bottle of greenery to the pan.

Advice! Before using this method, I advise you to cover the gas stove with foil. Because during the boil, one way or another, splashes are formed, which color everything that falls on. I think that you will not want to see your tiles in green specks, which are very difficult to clean. The first time I did it that way, and you would know that I just didn’t have to hear from my mother in my address)))

All other actions remain unchanged.

It turns out these are marble testicles with green accents, which makes them even more elegant.

Use an old pan for painting in both ways, because it will be almost impossible to wash it after use. For example, we have started one separate one for painting, and we have been using it for more than one year.

Video on how to paint eggs in husks with patterns

Here are some more unusual ways to get a wide variety of patterns, in the form of a video master class. Enjoy watching!

Decorating eggs for Easter 2019 without dyes

In addition to the fact that eggs can be colored with dyes, both food and natural, you can also do without them at all. This does not require anything supernatural. You just need to turn on your imagination, make a little effort and spend a little time.

And everyone can find everything they need on the farm. Now I will give, perhaps, the most common and simple ways of how you can decorate eggs for Easter, using only the simplest materials for this.

Easter Eggs Thermal Stickers

I think that this method of decorating eggs for Easter is familiar to many. And if not, then I hasten to show and tell you how to get such beauty.

You will need:

  • thermal stickers
  • scissors
  • the spoon

How to do:

1. Boil eggs until cooked. Cool it under running water. Wipe dry with a towel.

2. Meanwhile, while the eggs are boiling, we can cut the stickers into separate pieces. They are sold in the form of ribbons that you need to cut yourself with scissors.

3. We put stickers on the cooled eggs.

4. Dip the egg in a saucepan with boiling water and take it out immediately.

5. Under the influence of high temperature, the sticker shrinks and completely envelops the egg over the entire surface.

It's that simple.

By the way, eggs can be pre-painted in any color, or you can do without it. It turns out beautifully anyway.

Painting Easter eggs with rags

If you have shreds of shedding fabric at home, do not rush to throw them away. They can be used to color eggs in an unusual way. Everything is done quite simply and easily at minimal cost. Old silk ties with a variety of patterns are also great for this method. It turns out very cool. See for yourself.

What do you need:

  • scraps of fabric (fading)
  • white cloth
  • threads
  • vinegar

How to do:

1. First, thoroughly rinse the eggs with a sponge and dry them. Then we select the necessary pieces of fabric, for example, ties.

2. Wrap the egg in shreds, pressing tightly over the entire surface of the egg. We tie tightly with a thread so that the fabric does not move.

The colored side of the fabric should face the egg.

3. We wrap the whole thing in an ordinary white cloth and tie it up. This will make the drawing more saturated and vivid.

4. We send eggs to a pot of cold water, pour 2 tablespoons of vinegar and put on fire.

5. After the water boils, you need to boil the eggs for 20-25 minutes.

6. After that, take out the eggs and put them in ice water. You can not do this, just by doing this drawing, it will be better fixed.

7. Remove the fabric from the eggs and dry.

To add shine, you can brush it with a little vegetable oil.

Master class on decoupage eggs with paper napkins

And now we will do with just napkins and decorate the eggs in an unusual way.

What you need:

  • boiled eggs
  • napkins with a pattern
  • raw egg white
  • tassel

How to do:

1. Boil eggs in salted water until tender.

2. Take ordinary napkins and separate the top layer, which is with a picture.

3. Cut out patterns from this layer.

4. Attach the cut out part to the cooled egg.

We coat with protein over the entire surface of the napkin with a brush. Our protein acts as a glue that is absolutely safe.

We repeat the same with the rest of the eggs. Quickly and beautifully, and most importantly, that it is not harmful to health.

Natural dyes for Easter eggs

Now I suggest you consider the options for coloring eggs for Easter with natural dyes. Although they are a little more fiddling with than with food, the result is practically the same, and sometimes even better.

The biggest plus of natural dyes is that they are completely harmless to the body. And we can be completely sure that colored eggs will not bring any harm in such ways. Let's figure out how and what else you can decorate Easter eggs for the upcoming holiday.

We color the eggs with beets and cranberries

  • Dyeing with cranberries is very simple. You need to squeeze the juice out of it using a juicer.

Boil raw eggs in this dye.

  • With beets, things are a little different. You need to peel the beets. Cut the beets into cubes and boil. Soak boiled eggs in the resulting dye. Beet cubes can be used to make vinaigrette.
  • The second option is to squeeze the juice from the beets and soak the eggs in it for 8-10 hours until the shade you want is obtained.

Nettle and spinach will give a light green color

Spinach and nettle are also very popular. The color of the eggs is obtained depending on how long you soak them in the broth.

How to make a decoction? Everything is very simple. You just need to boil the spinach or nettle in water until the color comes out. Then we simply soak the finished eggs for a few hours.

That's the whole process.

How to color eggs with blueberries?

You can use blueberries to get the unusual color of Easter eggs.

For this you need:

1. Fill the dye with water. Boil and let the finished broth brew for 30 minutes.

2. After that, boil raw eggs in it until tender.

3. Fancy color is guaranteed.

Red cabbage - blue dye

The red cabbage is acting unexpectedly. Eggs colored with it turn blue.

For this you need:

  • Cut the cabbage into strips.
  • Pour it with water and boil it. The cabbage should turn white and the liquid should darken.
  • In this solution, you need to soak hard-boiled eggs for several hours, or better for a day.

We color eggs with ordinary tea

To get tea-colored eggs, you just need to brew a very strong tea and soak the eggs in it for several hours.

These are not all the dyes that exist. To describe everything, it seems to me that for this you need to write a lot of articles. But I came across one very interesting table, with a brief description and advice on how to paint eggs with vegetable broths. For myself, I saved it, which I advise you to do.

Unusual coloring of eggs with food colors

The first method is somewhat reminiscent of dragon eggs. At least judging by the films in which they are shown. But the second way I don't even know what to compare with. Do you have any ideas on this? Let's consider both.

I congratulate you on the holiday of Bright Easter! I wish you and your loved ones all the best. Let your life be as bright and beautiful as Easter eggs. Be healthy and happy. All the best! Until!

With the warmth of spring and the sun, the bright holiday of Easter comes to us. Tall stately Easter cakes, tender cottage cheese Easter, various pastries in the form of chickens, rabbits and, of course, colored eggs. If the dishes are prepared for family and guests, then all acquaintances and strangers are presented with eggs. From children bringing the news of the Resurrection of Christ in the morning to colleagues at work. "Christ is risen!" - they say at the same time. "He has risen in truth!" - they hear in response and receive a testicle in return.

What are Easter eggs?

Interestingly, colored Easter eggs have their own names depending on how the eggs were dyed. Krashenki are solid eggs, specks are eggs covered with multi-colored specks, which are obtained with the help of wax droplets. And if we paint eggs and scratch out a drawing, then we get drapanka. Easter eggs should be noted separately. This is not just an Easter attribute, but a work of art! Drawings on eggs are made with a special tool - a scribe.
In the article, we have collected both well-known methods of painting eggs, which everyone knows very well, but perhaps forgot the nuances, and more interesting and "unbeaten". In addition, we will tell you about quick options to paint eggs beautifully with the least labor costs, about the methods of decorating them that you can do with your child and about such original ways where you can let your imagination float free and expect a great result! For convenience, all 20 methods are divided into thematic blocks.

Start key - preparing eggs for painting

  • First: never start boiling eggs without first taking them out of the refrigerator at least an hour or two before coloring. Eggs should be at least room temperature so they don't burst during cooking. There is another way to prevent the explosion of eggs. They need to be pierced with a thin sharp needle. However, the first option is much simpler and safer.
  • Second: when cooking, add 1 tbsp. l. table salt for 1.5-2 liters of water. It is believed that this is done so that the shell does not burst. In fact, it is correct to say that salt will not allow the protein to leak out and form white "build-ups" if the shell suddenly cracks.
  • Third: the eggs should be thoroughly rinsed, perhaps even with a dish sponge. This is done to make the paint smoother. You can also wipe the testicle with soapy water or rubbing alcohol.
  • Fourth: you can paint eggs for Easter not only chicken, but also quail. It turns out very interesting and unusual! We also keep them at room temperature, rinse and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  • Fifth: in order for the paint to hold better, vinegar (9%) is added during the staining process. On average, 1 tbsp. l. 1.5 liters. water.
  • Well, and the last tip on how to give already colored eggs a festive look. Rub them, after wiping dry, with vegetable oil.

How to paint eggs in onion skins

First: the classics of the genre - onion peel and its variations

Traditional crimson, brown or dark yellow eggs are obtained by painting them with onion skins. In this case, both the husk of ordinary onions and red onions are used. When calculating the color, you can be guided by such a hint. If you take the husk of 8 onions for 2 cups of water, you get a red-brown color.

  1. Prepare the dye solution. To do this, pour onion husks into a pot of water.
  2. Bring to a boil and simmer for about half an hour.

  3. Let the broth cool. During this time, he will infuse.
  4. Strain the "paint" by discarding the husks.

  5. Immerse the prepared eggs in the solution so that it completely covers them.
  6. Boil eggs in onion broth over low heat, "hard boiled", that is, 12-15 minutes.
  7. Cool them sharply with cold water to make it easier to peel off the shell.
  8. If the eggs have not received the desired shade during this time, return them back to the dye solution.

Second: tandem husk with brilliant green

A very interesting option is burgundy-green or brown-brilliant eggs. For their execution, you will need onion peels, brilliant greens (a standard bottle, 10 ml per 1.5 liters), a nylon stocking (or gauze), gloves (to protect the skin of the hands from brilliant green).

Third: coloring in the husk with patterns

You can diversify the staining with onion peels if you first put a patterned figure on the egg and fix it with a piece of nylon. In this case, to obtain a pattern, you can take what is at hand. For example, leaves of parsley, parsnip, dill, peppermint, fresh or dried flowers. The dry material must first be soaked in hot water, and then applied to the egg.

The chosen motif - a leaf or a flower, tightly fix it with a nylon stocking (or a bandage, gauze) and carry out the standard staining with onion peel. Then remove the stocking, remove the stencil for the pattern and you will see an egg colored with onion peel, but with an imprint of a leaf or flower in the natural color of the shell.
By the same principle, you can decorate the speck with chaotic dots of the color of an unpainted shell. To do this, roll a wet egg in rice, crushed peas or millet before painting with onion peels, or attach a piece of lace to it. Secure the rump or lace motif with a nylon stocking.

You can get a variety of patterns without using a fixing material:

  1. for straight lines of the natural color of the shell on the egg, put rubber bands on it;
  2. any pattern can be made of masking tape, plaster, self-adhesive paper, or simply paint the egg with wax crayons;
  3. eggs in a "box" will turn out if you put on mesh stockings or a vegetable net.

Methods with dyes - natural and not so

Fourth: gifts from nature - natural dyes

  1. Pour water into a 1.5 liter saucepan and add natural pigment - the source of color.
  2. Bring to a boil, let it simmer a little and leave to infuse for half an hour.
  3. Strain the broth, pour in 1 tbsp. l. 9% vinegar and place eggs in a saucepan.
  4. Cook them over low heat at least until tender (12-15 minutes). If the color is poorly taken - up to half an hour.
  5. If the coloring is still unsuccessful within half an hour, leave the eggs in a saucepan with the coloring solution overnight.

Fifth: a scientific alternative to natural dyes - food colors

Multicolored dyes on young grass, what could be fresher and more attractive for Easter? To make them quickly and without much hassle, you can buy a special Easter set in the store. When choosing it, please note that dyes are different in the method of application.
One of the options is precisely the paint that needs to be applied directly to the boiled egg. The other is powder or tablets for diluting the color solution. Eggs are dipped into it and kept there until the paint is taken.
The dye package must contain the dyeing method. There is nothing difficult in using ready-made liquid paint. It is applied to the prepared egg, evenly distributed and allowed to dry. The method of painting with water-borne dyes generally looks like this:

Sixth: with the world on a string - a colorful egg

A riot of colors in one egg is a way of dyeing with floss threads. Very simple and beautiful:

  1. Wrap multicolored floss threads on a damp, room temperature, pre-washed egg. Combine colors and thread arrangements as your imagination dictates!
  2. 2. Boil them in the usual way until "hard boiled" (12-15 minutes).
  3. 3. Remove the threads.

Seventh: fabric translators

Transfer a beautiful pattern from fabric to egg? That's quite possible. Just take the choice of fabric seriously. In our age of the prohibitively developed chemical industry and the desire to reduce the cost of things at any cost, you can run into a chemical-dyed fabric. Despite the beauty of the drawing on it, it is better to refuse to use it. Examples of allowed fabrics include a Pavloposad shawl or a silk tie with an interesting pattern.

  1. Place the selected fabric face up on the egg. Secure it by stitching along the contour.
  2. From above, you can additionally fix the fabric by wrapping the egg with a nylon stocking or white cotton cloth.

  3. Add 9% vinegar to the cooking water (3 tablespoons per 1.5 liter saucepan) and boil the eggs "hard boiled" (12-15 minutes).
  4. Drain the water, cool the eggs and free them from the fabric. The drawing should show through with delicate contours on the shell.
  5. We paint with children

Both adults and children are looking forward to Easter with equal impatience. Give the kids the opportunity to make a beautiful craft egg and give it, for example, to their grandparents. Being engaged in such creativity, we encourage children's desire to do beauty and give it to loved ones. And also - it's very interesting and fun!

    Eighth: craft egg

You can make a perky chicken from dye:

    1. Color the egg yellow with food coloring. Although the chickens can be of other colors: blue or pink, for example. Even a child from 3 years of age can cope with coloring with colored powders or tablets diluted in water. Of course, under the supervision and careful guidance of an adult.
    2. Cut out the details for decorating the chicken from colored paper: eyes, wings, tail, beak, scallop. And also: a bow - if it's a girl or a bow tie, a tie - if it's a boy. You can also use decorative down from a craft store. It turns out cool and very cute!
    3. Use gelatin glue to fix the prepared parts. To do this, soak the gelatin as indicated on the package. Drain off excess liquid, and heat the granules until they dissolve. It is not necessary to bring to a boil.
    4. Apply gelatinous glue with a brush to the parts, egg and gradually turn it into a chicken!

    Ninth: funny faces

Show your children that the egg can be painted in an unusual way. But since this is a product and is then eaten, the paints must be natural. For example, it is very easy to make an edible gouache from cocoa powder. She can draw the face of an animal, the face of a funny freak, or even a portrait. Eyes can also be depicted, but it will be more interesting to glue ready-made ones from a needlework store.

    1. Boil the eggs. If necessary, paint with food coloring, for example, if you are making a lion's face - in yellow.
    2. Pour warm water into a tablespoon of cocoa until thick sour cream.
    3. Place the finished eggs on stands, such as plastic bottle caps, and paint.
    4. Let the chocolate gouache dry.
    5. Then glue the eyes with gelatinous glue, if they initially do not have an adhesive base.

    Tenth: wax crayons (pencils)

This is a way for school children. Since you have to work with a hot, freshly boiled egg.

    1. Remove them from the pan, pat dry with a towel.
    2. Place the egg on a stand such as a bottle cap.
    3. Start drawing with wax crayons. The wax will disperse from the heat and create bizarre transitions, overflows. Choose your colors carefully!
    4. You can paint eggs in this way not only with pencils, but also with the help of sprinkling with crumbs of wax. To obtain it, crayons are rubbed on a fine grater. And then pour it onto a hot, freshly boiled egg.
    5. And another way to decorate with wax crayons is to melt them and dip an egg there.

    Save time

When a woman is not only a housewife, but also the main earner in the family, there is not so much time for home life. Moreover, Easter eggs are painted on Maundy Thursday. This activity is not postponed until the weekend. Therefore, in the absence of time, you can resort to "quick" methods of making Easter eggs.

    Eleventh: thermal film stickers

Once and done - this is about one of the easiest ways to create an Easter mood with iron-on stickers. How beautiful they are: with Gzhel painting, Khokhloma, with intricate patterns, butterflies, flowers, church stories, as well as with rabbits, kittens and even with characters from children's cartoons! If you plan to use thermal stickers, choose smaller eggs. Otherwise, they simply will not fit into the thermal base. Stickers can be applied to unpainted boiled eggs, and you can also use them as a backup if the shell suddenly cracks when painting with husks.
Please note: eggs in thermal stickers are stored less than, for example, dyed with husks or food coloring.

    1. Boil the eggs in the usual way.
    2. Place the thermo base over the egg and place it in the strainer.
    3. Dip the strainer in boiling water for a few seconds. As soon as the thermal sticker "hugs" it, pull it out.

    Twelfth: holiday outfit

As one of the most important Easter symbols, the egg requires a matching outfit. Until now, we have talked about its color, but you can do it differently. It is enough to wrap a boiled egg with bright foil. Voila! And it's in the spotlight. And additionally it will be decorated with an exquisite decoration.

    1. Boil the eggs.
    2. Cut the multi-colored foil (sold in stationery stores) into rectangular pieces large enough to wrap the egg.
    3. Prepare decorative items or just use confetti.
    4. Wrap the cooled eggs in foil. Glue the decor to them.

    Flight of fantasy

If the standard traditional ways of dyeing eggs seem boring and monotonous, let your fantasy fly and follow it like a white rabbit.

Thirteenth: the power of the rainbow

This method is a variation of food coloring. The combination of colors, the depth of painting, the number of layers ... All of this is selected individually. Therefore, these dyes are 100% original. However, in order for the eggs to turn out like in the picture, you need high-quality dyes that give rich colors. You need to breed them following the instructions. Another tip: you need to start with light tones, gradually resorting to the help of darker and darker ones, and end with the darkest ones.

    1. Boil the eggs.
    2. Take one and paint it completely in the lightest color.
    3. Dip the colored egg in the paint a shade darker, but not completely, but halfway.
    4. Wait for the paint to take. Then drain it.
    5. Then do the same, applying paint in layers.

    Fourteenth: eggs "on the style"

Easter, originally a religious holiday, is now more secular. Therefore, eggs are painted not only traditionally in red or a pattern corresponding to the holiday is applied, but they also approach this lesson in a simpler and more creative way. For example, eggs will look stylish if you pattern them with a permanent marker. You can come up with a coloring yourself or get ideas from the Internet.

    1. Boil the eggs, be sure to hard-boiled.
    2. Place them on the coasters and apply the chosen pattern with a permanent marker.
    3. After finishing work, let it dry. This will take about an hour.

    Fifteenth: stencil work

This method is relatively traditional. We find a stencil, apply it to the egg, paint it with natural or food coloring. The flight of imagination should manifest itself in the choice of a stencil. Here everyday experience, information from books, magazines, the Internet can come to the rescue. Or maybe you have family symbols. The main thing to remember is that the chosen color and stencil must be in harmony with each other.

    1. Choose a drawing for the stencil.
    2. Apply it to ultra-thin paper (tracing paper).
    3. Dampen the paper just enough so that it becomes pliable and can easily be applied to the egg.
    4. Fix the attached stencil firmly on the egg with a nylon stocking or bandage (gauze).
    5. When the preparation for coloring the eggs is complete, do it in any way: with onion peels, food coloring. Only if the eggs are painted with onion skins do not need to be boiled first. And if a method of coloring with food coloring is chosen, then they must be pre-cooked "hard-boiled".
    6. Remove the fixing material and stencils from the finished cooled eggs.

    Sixteenth: marble effect

Artistic flair will be needed for those who decide to paint the eggs in a marble color. This is not difficult to do. The main thing is to choose colors beautifully and purchase high-quality dyes.

    1. Boil the eggs.
    2. Color them in a light-colored dye: yellow, orange, blue. Let dry.
    3. Dilute in a deep narrow container (in a glass, a tea cup) a dark dye: purple, brown, dark blue. Add 1 teaspoon to each cup of dark solution. vegetable oil. Stir until the spoonful of oil breaks up into many small oil droplets.
    4. Dip light dyes in dark dye. It is ideal to do this once.
    5. Let dry. Marble eggs are ready!

Decorating options for ready-made colored eggs

If the simple coloring of eggs is not enough and the soul asks for an artistic continuation, choose one of the proposed options. Turn your paint job into a work of art!

    17th: 3D decor

Quite time consuming, but worth it. To decorate eggs, you will need a wax or paraffin candle, as well as a variety of cereals, small pasta, pastry sprinkles and whatever else your heart desires.

    1. Take the finished paint.
    2. Light a candle and apply a pattern to it with molten wax (paraffin). Do this very carefully. The flame should not touch the shell, otherwise a gray soot mark may remain.
    3. Roll the egg in the material of your choice. You can also put decorative elements on the adhesive base with your hands.
    4. When the work is dry, you can grease the decorated surface with vegetable oil for a more presentable look.

    Eighteenth: sugar lace

Eggs in voluminous lace are very stylish, festive and go well with any traditional pattern on the dye. To make them, you need powdered sugar (about a glass) and water. If powdered sugar is not at hand, you can make it yourself. This requires granulated sugar and a coffee grinder.

    1. Slowly pour water into the icing sugar so that you get a white mass with a thick consistency.
    2. Place the decorative sugar mass in a pastry syringe.
    3. Take the finished paint.
    4. Apply a pattern to it.
    5. Let dry.

    Nineteenth: decoupage technique

In order for a picture to appear on the dye, it is not necessary to apply a thermal sticker on it or transfer the pattern from the fabric. You can remember the decoupage technique. It is designed to decorate not only plates and furniture, but can also be transferred to the plane of Easter decor. To do this, we will have to use beautiful napkins or their elements and gelatinous glue. To prepare the glue, gelatin is soaked according to the instructions on the package. Then the excess moisture is poured off and heated, not boiling, until the granules dissolve.

    1. Take a nice napkin. Pull out an interesting fragment with your hands (without using scissors). Remove the top layer and we will use it.

    2. Prepare your gelatin glue.
    3. Apply the selected fragment to the paint.
    4. Apply gelatin glue over the napkin with a brush. This should be done from the center to the edges.
    5. Let dry.

    Twentieth: drapani

Colored eggs with a white pattern can be made and not only by overlaying a stencil. The pattern can be scratched onto the surface of an egg-dyed egg with a utility knife or a thick, sharp needle. This method is laborious, but it is applicable when it is planned to make a delicate delicate pattern on the egg, which is difficult to achieve by overlaying a stencil.

    1. Make a dye with onion peel.
    2. Draw a pattern on it with a simple pencil. You can do without this if you feel confident or your hand is full.
    3. Follow the line drawn with a pencil with a clerical knife, scratching the outline.

Well, dear and beloved, are you already preparing for the holiday of the Resurrection of Christ? Are you picking up recipes for cakes, are you dreaming of cottage cheese Easter? Would you like to try something new and unusual this year? If there are no resources for global reforms, make some personal discoveries in the field of dyeing Easter eggs. Surely you from year to year resort to the services of the same method of decorating dyes - so maybe the time has come for interesting achievements and curious experiments? Let's figure out how you can paint eggs for Easter, and once you figure it out, you will automatically find the right solution for yourself. Only - mind you! - new!

How to paint eggs for Easter:

Staining eggs with natural dyes

In the modern world, few people think about why it is worth giving preference to natural dyes, if it is much easier to go to the store, buy, pay, mix and get the result. The Pepsi generation, we grew up on the idea of \u200b\u200b“I want everything at once” and are not ready to spend even a little time if there is an opportunity to get practically the same thing, but at the same time not spend precious minutes. However, if you approach the issue of dyeing eggs for Easter from the other side, you can find a lot of advantages in using natural dyes.

First and foremost, this is your health: it is clear that when decorating Easter eggs, the shell is colored, and food colors, if they get into food, then in minimal quantities, but they do! Agree, if possible, it is worth making a choice in favor of health, neglecting the issues of insignificant savings.

Secondly, natural dyes are always a miracle, magic, mystery. Doing something with your own hands, observing with bated breath, expecting the result and wondering what it will be - isn't this from the category of miraculous? Do not forget that by calling the children for help, you will automatically increase the magic coefficient: of course, sometimes small hands create unnecessary problems and troubles in the kitchen, but the happy laugh of the children is worth it!

Thirdly, natural dyes are sometimes cheaper than purchased synthetic ones - what can be, for example, more budgetary than onion peel or a couple of spoons of black tea, free birch leaves or unnecessary walnut shells?

Let's instill in children a taste for a different concept: natural, natural, healthy is fashionable, beautiful and modern. Personal example is the best science, so for this Easter we paint eggs with what can be found in any kitchen!

Onion peel

Perhaps it is onion peels that are the most popular, simple and affordable means for dyeing Easter eggs. Thanks to this simple old "life hack", you can get a completely diversified range of color shades - from light red to deep brown.

For work, you will need wax, a candle and a special tool - a scribbler, which can be replaced with any small-diameter metal tube. Draw a drawing on the egg with a simple pencil, then, filling the scribble with wax, heat it over the candle and trace the ornament of your choice with the molten mass. After that, dip the egg into a glass with dye, hold for the required time, then remove the wax with a napkin, holding the egg over the candle if necessary - in those places that were closed, the shell will remain with its natural color, the rest of the surface of the egg will be colored.

Using the same technology, you can make multi-colored Easter eggs. To do this, after the first layer of wax drawing, dip the egg in the lightest paint (for example, yellow), hold the required amount of time, take it out, gently dry the egg, reapply the drawing, lower it into the next most saturated color (say, red). Repeat the operation as many times as you want to get the colors. Remove wax only after the last coat of paint.

Do not immediately stare at very complex patterns. This, of course, is insanely beautiful and inspiring, but it is better to start with primitive drawings, and then, after filling your hand, move on to more complex ornaments.

Decorative polyethylene films and thermal stickers

The modern industry with the motto "quick and easy" offers a lot of "high-speed" options for decorating Easter eggs. At Easter markets, supermarket layouts and market stalls, you can find a wide variety of stickers and thermal films for decoration.

With the first, everything is simple to the point of primitivism: I took it off the base, glued it to the egg, put it on a plate and began to admire the result. It will not be superfluous to mention that it is still better to paint the egg beforehand - small stickers on a white background look bare and dull.

With thermal films, you will have to make a few extra gestures: wrap the egg with the proposed "bag", put it in boiling water, take it out in a minute - under the influence of temperature, special polyethylene shrinks, tightly wrapping the egg. Done. A huge disadvantage of this method of preparing Easter eggs is the difficulty of cleaning: the film is very strong, and in order to extract the contents of the shell, you have to resort to using a knife or scissors.

The options, of course, are of dubious attractiveness and sincerity, however, one cannot fail to mention them, because they exist and, probably, still have the right to life - for working mothers and women who have almost no days off, this is a good way out. However, if you have at least 10 extra minutes, it is better to give preference to some "warmer" and "lively" option.

Decoupage and other handmade ways to decorate Easter eggs

With minimal skills and a love of handicrafts, Easter eggs can be decorated in a completely unusual way, using, for example, the decoupage technique. To do this, the surface of hard-boiled eggs must be degreased, then, if desired, painted with any suitable paints (for example, gouache). After that, dilute PVA glue and water in a 1: 1 ratio, cut out suitable motifs from napkins, remove the top layer and glue it on the egg. After drying, the eggs can be additionally covered with a layer of glue. If you are making decorative ornaments, it is worth working with an empty shell, and covering the finished egg with acrylic varnish.

Those who know how to hold a hook in their hands can be advised to tie the eggs with openwork "cases" - it turns out incredibly tender and cute.

However, even if you take various beads, lace cuts, sequins, colored ribbons, beautiful strings and decorate Easter eggs with all these good things, it will be very vintage, festive, soulful and stylish.

Christ is Risen, dear ones! Happy Easter, bright colors and good mood!

It is not difficult to paint eggs at home without using long-lasting dyes, but using only natural products for coloring the shell. Many women have a whole book of recipes by which you can make dyes for the holiday, as well as apply an unusual pattern to them. Below we will look at the basic preparation of all eggs for coloring, and also talk in more detail about all the popular methods for coloring the shell.

Some rules for preparing a product

There are several basic rules that must be followed more strictly in order to get beautiful and well-colored eggs on, and on a properly prepared product, the picture will look brighter and clearer. According to the first rule, housewives are recommended to buy exclusively white eggs for coloring, since it is the light shell that can best absorb the color pigments, which will allow you to get a rich shade of the shell. And in order for the paint to hold better, it is recommended to wash the egg shells with soap before cooking, if there is no soap at home, then the surface is simply wiped with vinegar.

Before you start boiling eggs, it is worth leaving them on the kitchen table for several hours, if you cook a product that has just been taken out of the refrigerator, then the shell will crack during cooking due to the sharp temperature drop. Cracked shells will not paint the surface of the dyed well, and the eggs themselves will stain.

When the product is prepared, it is worthwhile to start preparing a decoction in which eggs will be painted, decoctions can be prepared according to a wide variety of recipes, we will write about this in the article below. One of the most popular and traditional is the onion broth, which is made from the husk, the husk is simply washed and then boiled in clean water for about twenty minutes, when the solution is sufficiently concentrated, chicken eggs are sent to it and boiled for at least half an hour. It is worth remembering that the solution must be slightly salted before boiling the eggs, this will help make the pigment brighter.

There are special methods of boiling and dyeing eggs that allow you to make a beautiful pattern on the surface of a dye, below we will also talk about the most popular methods of decorating Easter dyes at home. If you do not want to use the decoration of eggs with the help of improvised means, you can simply purchase special Easter stickers, their cost is not high, but they look very attractive on painted eggs.

The best natural color options

Yellow-brown color. Probably this shade can be considered one of the most popular, since to obtain it it is necessary to use quite affordable onion peel. For one liter of pure water, you need to take about one hundred grams of such a husk, but if you want to get a more concentrated composition, then the amount of the product is doubled or the second. The solution is boiled for about thirty minutes, and then it is filtered through cheesecloth and returned to the fire, prepared boiled eggs are dipped into the resulting composition and painted over the fire for at least twenty minutes.

Red color. Probably many people know about the tribute described in church scriptures, which says that the chicken egg turned red when Jesus was revived, it has since been customary to paint eggs in a red tint. For such coloring, ordinary beets are taken, this vegetable is grated or chopped with a blender, while it is necessary to take the product fresh. All the juice is squeezed out of the mass obtained and already in it they begin, if this method is not suitable, it is worth using blueberry juice, it also gives a pleasant red tint.

Orange color. Such a shade is obtained using a large amount of turmeric or ordinary onion coloring, but in this case it is already necessary to take not one hundred grams of husk per liter of water, but about fifty grams. After staining, the eggs will take on a light orange tint.

Yellow. This shade is obtained using the usual seasoning called turmeric, the powder must be diluted in water to such a shade that you would like to get Easter eggs, the product is sent to the resulting composition and painted to the required shade. In addition, lemon or orange peel can give a yellow tint, young birch leaves and walnut shells have been used for many years to obtain a yellow color. In these solutions, eggs are boiled until fully cooked, and if it is necessary to color the shell of ready-made eggs, it is best to take fresh carrot juice.

Staining Easter eggs in marble

To make such staining, it is necessary to prepare small gauze bags in advance, but it is best to take nylon socks, it will be much more convenient to use them. To begin with, all raw eggs are washed in water and soap, and thoroughly brushed, then it is necessary to chop the onion husk and roll a wet egg in it. The resulting egg is placed in a prepared bag and tied tightly, it is very important that the husk adheres tightly to the shell. If necessary, you can additionally pour husks into the bag so that the staining process goes more evenly and brightly. Such bags are moved into a container with cold water, the saucepan must be put on medium heat.

While the water is boiling, it is worth adding about one jar of brilliant greens to it, just one bottle is needed for two liters, and two large tablespoons of coarse salt are also put into the solution. Eggs are boiled for at least ten minutes in boiled water with brilliant green, then the water is carefully drained, and the finished dyes are taken out of the bags and transferred to a dry surface to dry. The resulting eggs turn out to be very bright and unusual, it is worth trying out such a simple coloring method to surprise your family and guests.

Spotted dyes

It is quite easy to get unusual specks on the shell, ordinary cereals will help in this, it is best to use rice, but other types of cereals are also suitable. To begin with, the egg is washed well in water, and then it is also rolled in the prepared cereal and transferred to a bag, such a bag is placed in a solution with a dye and left for the required period of time. A decoction of onion peels is perfect, a decoction of coffee or strong tea is also used. You can take on board juice from carrots or beets, eggs are boiled in it for about fifteen minutes to obtain a bright shade.

Since the groats adhere tightly to the shell, after staining the eggs have small unpainted spots, for this reason the shell looks spotty and very unusual. This method can be used not only with natural, but also with artificial food colors that are eaten up in stores before Easter.

Other interesting decorating techniques

If you really want to decorate the egg with interesting patterns, then the hostesses have come up with other original methods, for this a simple thread, lace or bandage is taken, with its help the egg is wrapped, and then colored, thus chaotic or even stripes are obtained. You can take a special bandage-mesh, if you wrap an egg in such a bandage and dip it into the dye composition, you get a beautiful pattern on the surface of the dye.

Today it is also popular to use various leaves, it can even be simple parsley and dill, the leaves are glued to the shell with water, and then placed in a nylon stocking and tied tightly. After boiling in dye, a beautiful leaf pattern will remain on the surface of the egg. Some people prefer to use stationery tape or regular rubber bands, they hold well when boiling on the egg, and leave good even marks.

If you want to get more interesting and beautiful patterns on the surface of the dye, you just need to tie a lace ribbon on the egg, for example, from stockings, after dyeing you will get an unusual lace pattern.

Staining eggs with nettles

If you want to apply more interesting options for dyeing eggs, then you can do this simply using ordinary nettle, the recipe is distinguished by its simplicity and minimal cost. To carry out the staining correctly, you need to take the eggs and rinse them in water, it is also worth collecting young nettles, which are also thoroughly washed, then fill a large saucepan with leaves and fill it all with water.

Such a broth is boiled for at least twenty minutes, then the broth is cooled to the required time and the prepared eggs are immersed in it. It is necessary to cook dyes from fifteen minutes to half an hour, it all depends on the concentration of the solution and the resulting shade. If it was not possible to find fresh nettles at home, you can also apply a pack of dried pharmaceutical herbs, the effect will be almost the same.

Unusual staining methods

I would like to say that all the listed options for dyeing eggs are far from the last on the list, because today you can find other methods on how to make eggs bright and beautiful for the holiday. You can use a very strong cascade tea, it will give a light or very rich pink hue, it is no less popular to use brewed coffee, it gives the shell a rich brown color. If you want to get more interesting shades, then you should add a couple of red cabbage leaves to the onion peel broth. Some housewives use lily of the valley and primrose leaves, since these plants have the property of coloring.

Coloring with brilliant green

Probably many have already heard about the method of obtaining green color in any dyes, of course this shade will be better taken on white eggs, but brilliant green does not badly dye brown chicken products. This solution can be easily purchased at a pharmacy, and it is even easier to make a coloring composition from it. To do this, take a little water so that there is enough to place several eggs, and then the required amount of green stuff is poured into this water, you need to pour so much to get a sufficiently saturated solution, usually half a bottle is taken per liter. Boiled eggs are dipped into the resulting solution and left for a certain time until the dye is taken on the shell.

Zelenka is considered a completely harmless pharmaceutical product, but if the hostess wants to use exclusively natural dyes, then instead of greenery, you can use spinach juice. It is prepared quite simply, you need to take the fresh greens of this plant and grind it, squeeze the juice from the resulting mass and use it as other types of juices for coloring boiled eggs in a green tint.

Red cabbage coloring

To carry out staining, it will be necessary to take a kilogram of such cabbage and chop it well, eggs, a couple of tablespoons of salt, half a liter of pure oxen and six large tablespoons of vinegar are also prepared. Since we need to get juice from cabbage, it is worth chopping the product with a blender, in this case the coloring process will be much more successful. Next, you need to rinse the eggs well, this will make it possible for the paint to lie on the surface of the shell more evenly; before painting, the chicken product must be boiled until fully cooked in clean water, to which a few spoons of salt are additionally added.

In the meantime, cabbage can be poured with half a liter of purified water, six tablespoons of vinegar are poured into the same place and everything is mixed, then they put the saucepan on the fire and cook for at least ten minutes. As soon as the resulting broth cools down a little, you can strain it and start the staining process.

Ready and chilled eggs are sent to a large jar, into which the resulting broth is poured and the dyes are left in this state for the current night. The longer the eggs are in the broth, the more intense the resulting shade will be, while it should be understood that red cabbage does not give pink, but a dark blue tint to dyes.

It is worth rubbing additionally with any vegetable oil so that they are brighter and brighter, and then you can serve the dyes to the table.
