The Czech salad with ham and its recipe are already traditional for our family. Back in the days of the Iron Curtain, our relative visited the Czech Republic and, among other foreign things, brought a recipe for this salad. The salad, quite spicy, will go well with any meal. The recipe tells about a festive portioned serving, but the salad can be served in a common dish, but for this you need to take a large serving ring, or form the correct shape with your hands.

Ingredients:
- chicken;
- an egg;
- Apple;
- ham;
- vinegar or lemon juice;
- green pea;
- gherkins;
- mayonnaise.

Step by step recipe with photo:

Boil chicken fillet or thigh, cut into small cubes or take apart into fibers.

Boil the egg and grate with medium holes.

Choose hard apples, preferably with white or green pulp. Peel the apple and grate, sprinkle a little with vinegar or lemon juice.

Add mayonnaise and stir. If the mayonnaise is tender, add a little salt. This will be the centerpiece of the salad.
Arrange the salad using a serving ring. It is quite possible to replace it with an empty plastic bottle with the top and bottom cut off.

Strain the peas. This step should not be skipped, since we do not need liquid from the peas.

Place the peas on top of the salad and press down a little with your hand. If you are making a salad using the serving ring for the first time - generously grease the top with mayonnaise - then the peas will definitely stay in place.

Slowly remove the ring, correct the fallen peas.

Cut the ham and gherkins into equal pieces. This moment is extremely important for salad dressing.

Lay ham and cucumbers on the edge of the salad in turn, as shown in the photo.

For strength, you can also grease the sides of the salad with mayonnaise so that the cucumbers and ham are snug against the salad.

The salad looks very appetizing, and will attract the attention of the guests with its "striping".
Serving salad in portions was described above.

To serve the salad in a common dish, you can cut all the ingredients into cubes, but do not add the peas to the salad, just sprinkle them abundantly over the salad. Garnish the edges of the plate with diced ham or herbs.
