Green coffee - these are ordinary coffee beans before roasting, they go on sale whole, ground or in tablet form. This product has become widespread due to the fact that, according to manufacturers, it helps to lose weight quickly. How useful is green coffee and how to use it? We will analyze the topic in more detail.

Benefits for the human body

This drink has gained popularity recently, and the sensation around it is more like a publicity stunt. According to manufacturers, green coffee has a lot of chlorogenic acid, which contributes to the rapid burning of fats, improves metabolism in the body and rejuvenates cells.

Chlorogenic acid is actually found in green coffee beans, apples, blueberries, cranberries, peaches - this is an antioxidant that is good for the body. The content of this substance in green coffee is only 4 to 8%, while in apples it is about 50%. Chlorogenic acid is destroyed by heat treatment, which is needed to prepare green coffee, ground grains are brewed with boiling water.

The second argument in favor of green coffee - its regular consumption prevents the absorption of fats, leads to weight loss. The alkaloids, purine substances and caffeine contained in it simulate physical and mental activity.

Caffeine successfully fights headaches caused by vasospasm. It is useful for the body in small quantities - it improves the functioning of the nervous system, strengthens memory, stimulates lymphatic drainage, strengthens the cardiovascular system, and reduces appetite. But the fried grains have more caffeine than the green ones, and the taste of the drink is much better.

Varieties and producers of the drink

Green coffee is not roasted coffee beans. It is divided into varieties depending on the quality of the grains, place of cultivation and producer. The best variety is considered arabica. Robusta is inferior to her in taste and aroma.

The most popular manufacturers of green coffee include:

  1. The Leovit company makes green coffee which does not contain stabilizers, dyes, fragrances. It is sold in the form of dietary supplements, which, in addition to coffee beans, includes cinnamon and garcinia. The action is manifested in dulling appetite and improving intestinal motility.
  2. The company "Evalar" produces green coffee "Tropicanka Slim" for weight loss. It has a convenient tablet form.
  3. Nescafe produces a product called Nescafe Green Blend. This is instant coffee in granules, which is made from a mixture of green and roasted beans. The product is touted as a tasty and healthy alternative to regular coffee.

How to make green coffee in such a way that it has an effective effect on the body and helps to get rid of a lot of kilograms? We will be happy to answer your question. It is known that unroasted beans contain a large amount of chlorogenic acid, which positively affects metabolism, speeding it up and helping the body break down fats from food. Green coffee beans are easy to make. This drink will be an excellent helper for weight loss, in addition to your low-calorie diet.

Unique ingredients to fight extra pounds

For the best drink, try making green coffee with ginger at home. To do this, take a teaspoon of ground coffee, then add the same amount of chopped ginger - grated or cut into circles, put the ingredients in a Turk, pour water and bring to a boil, but do not boil. As soon as small bubbles appear on the surface of the liquid, remove the coffee from the stove, strain through a strainer and pour into a cup. Since this drink is used for weight loss purposes, sugar, milk, cream are not allowed to be added, unless for taste you can pour a little cinnamon, ground cloves, nutmeg or other spices.

You can properly prepare green coffee in a French press. To do this, put in it 1 teaspoon of ground coffee and grated root, pour water - hot (up to 90 degrees), but not boiling, wait a couple of minutes, and then lower the piston. The liquid will thus separate from the mixture of grains and ginger, and you can easily spill it into cups. This drink will not only help speed up the metabolism, but will give strength and vitality for the whole day. But do not get carried away - 2-3 cups a day will be enough.

Making a slimming drink is quick and easy

How to make green ground coffee in a couple of minutes? It doesn't get any easier. You can brew ground grains in a Turk - for 1 teaspoon of the product you will need a glass of water and a little of your time. Coffee begins to boil after 2-3 minutes. You will need the same amount of time to make a healthy drink in a French press. And if you don’t have any appliances, just put 1 teaspoon of ground green coffee in a cup, fill it with hot, temperature up to 90 degrees, water, cover with a saucer and let stand for 3-4 minutes. The drink is ready.

Rules for grinding and storing coffee beans

As already mentioned, green coffee is just unroasted beans, of course, to make a healthy drink from them, you need to grind them. Since the grains were not processed, their grinding is a rather difficult process, they are much harder than fried. In this case, you need a very powerful coffee grinder: if you use the usual one, you risk getting a product with large particles and coarse crumbs, for brewing you need a fine, uniform powder. Therefore, a little advice: if some part of the beans has not been ground, and there are lumps left in the coffee, you can knead them with a rolling pin or a pusher with which you prepare mashed potatoes.

Green coffee has recently become a new trend in nutrition. These are the same coffee beans, but not roasted. In many countries, it is customary to purchase green coffee and roast it yourself to obtain the desired color, aroma and taste.

Brew coffee beans without roasting steel to obtain a drink that promotes weight loss. Its secret is that in the process of roasting beans, chlorogenic acid, which is contained in coffee beans, is destroyed. She is famous for being able to break down fats and rid the body of toxins.

In green coffee, all beneficial substances are stored, because grains do not undergo heat treatment. The positive effect is simply amazing. in addition to the usual tonic effect, there is an improvement in metabolism, which contributes to weight loss. In addition, the negative effect on the liver is much less, plaque does not settle on the teeth, and the load on the body is not observed, because the benefits of green coffee cannot harm the body, unless you take more measures.

The taste of the green coffee drink is different from the usual one - there is no more bitterness, which means that there is no need to use sugar (which is one of the culprits of excess weight), it is perceived more as an infusion of herbs with a pleasant tart taste that cannot but please.

You can buy green coffee in pharmacies or specialty stores. You can use the online coffee shop "Coffee Magic", which is very convenient to buy high-end green coffee in bulk. The store provides discounts and delivery to the cities of Russia.

How to brew green coffee for weight loss?

In order for a green coffee drink to help lose weight, it needs to be brewed correctly.

To make the result noticeable, green coffee must be left unroasted. For brewing, you need to take 1.5-2 teaspoons per 100 ml capacity (preferably metal) and fill with water. A drink of this concentration will be moderately strong: green coffee grains are not equivalent to the roasted coffee we are used to, because roasted grains almost no longer contain natural oils and are therefore much smaller in volume.

The cooking process is usually brought to the appearance of a characteristic foam, after which the fire is turned off. If you keep it on fire for a longer time, so that the taste of the drink becomes more saturated, then almost all useful substances are lost, and then there is no use for weight loss. It is worth noting that adding sugar, milk and other ingredients to the green coffee drink is not recommended.

Today, many green coffee extracts are common. Usually they are sold in brewing bags indicating the amount of water needed for one serving. This product must be treated very carefully, because it can be of very dubious origin.

How to drink green coffee for weight loss?

In order for the green coffee drink to have the maximum effect, it is recommended to drink 1 cup approximately 30-40 minutes before eating. If you drink this drink while eating, the beneficial effect will be significantly lower.

Do not forget that drinking more than 4 cups of green coffee per day is not recommended. Everything is good in moderation. This is especially true for those who have heart problems.

Green coffee for weight loss is a relative novelty in the Russian market of weight loss supplements. Its effect was proved by scientists in 2012, although it was almost immediately refuted, but numerous positive reviews about the product indicate that unroasted grains still help get rid of a certain amount of kilograms. In this article we will look at how to brew green coffee for weight loss so that you get rid of as much weight as possible in a short time. In addition, if at least once in your life you made regular coffee in a Turk or in a French press, it will not be difficult for you to follow the instructions.

How to make green coffee for weight loss

To prepare a cup of an invigorating drink, you will need a tablespoon of unroasted ones that need to be ground in a powerful coffee grinder, the usual one is not good. The fact is that raw, simply dried, beans are much harder than fried, so a manual or regular coffee grinder, although capable of grinding raw materials, will contain small pieces in it. They can be broken with a rolling pin or use the pestle for crushed potatoes - this way you will turn the most unstable parts of beans into crumbs.

You should have 2 teaspoons of ground coffee. To prepare a drink in a Turk, fill them with an incomplete glass of water and place on a stove. Please note that you must clearly follow the instructions to make the drink as useful as possible. Firstly, the liquid in the cezve (Turk) should not boil - as soon as small bubbles begin to appear on its surface, immediately remove the dishes from the heat and pour the drink into a cup. Despite the specific taste, such coffee should be drunk without milk and sugar, but it is quite possible to add a pinch of cinnamon, cloves, red pepper (for an amateur) or lemon juice.

How to brew green coffee with ginger in a French press

To make coffee, you can use not only Turku, but also a French press, and the addition of ginger root will only double the benefit of the drink. For a serving, you will need ground grains - 2 teaspoons - and a 1 cm long piece that you either need to cut into small slices or just grate it. Put the raw materials in a French press, fill with very hot water (it is also important here that it is hot, about 90 degrees, and not boiling) and leave for a couple of minutes. The drink is ready, you can add spices and drink in small sips. After a couple of days, your unusual taste will stop confusing you, and losing weight will be a little easier, especially since green coffee can suppress appetite.

How to make green coffee for weight loss, if there are no special devices at hand

For such cases, you can well use a regular ceramic mug: put the ingredients in a bowl, pour hot water, and after 2-3 minutes the drink is ready. The only thing is, do not try to put as much raw material as possible when preparing a serving: this will not make your coffee better. At least you won’t be able to drink it, and if you manage to overcome unpleasant taste sensations, an overdose of caffeine will result in high blood pressure, heart palpitations and problems with sleep.

Now you know as many as three ways to brew green coffee for weight loss. Take the drink regularly - 3 times a day - and do not forget that you should not abuse excessively high-calorie foods during the course. Observing these rules, you are sure to get rid of 2-5 kg \u200b\u200bof excess weight in about a month.

Today coffee   It is considered to be one of the most popular drinks, and all thanks to its tonic properties, pleasant taste and aroma. And if we know everything (or almost everything) about the effect of black coffee on the body, then about the properties of exotic coffee for us green coffee   we know quite a bit. In this article we will try to fill this gap by examining the properties of green coffee and its effects on the body. In addition, we will talk about the benefits and dangers of this drink, about the rules for its preparation and administration.

Description of green coffee

Is there green coffee?

Due to the increased interest in green tea in recent years, which has many healing properties, many are interested in the following question: is there green coffee?

We answer: Green coffee exists, however, not as an independent variety, but as a semi-finished product of ordinary black coffee. Moreover, it is the green coffee beans that Brazilians, who are reputed to be true connoisseurs and admirers of this aromatic drink, prefer to consume.

Green coffee is non-roasted or heat treated grains of natural coffee varieties Arabica   or Robusta   (These types of coffee are most often used unroasted).

Arabica contains less caffeine and fat than Robusta. In addition, due to its lower acidity, Arabica differs from Robusta in a more pleasant taste and a variety of taste shades. In turn, Robusta coffee is cheaper than Arabica, because its quality is much lower.

It is the absence of heat treatment that allows you to save the maximum amount of antioxidants, vitamins and other useful substances in coffee. In addition, by roasting coffee beans yourself, you can achieve a better taste, because the duration of the roasting affects both the aroma and the taste of the drink.

Important!   Real "green" coffee should be grown on ecologically clean soil, for the fertilizing of which synthetic fertilizers and pest control products are not used.

Title

It is not difficult to guess that coffee got its name due to the green color of beans that did not pass heat treatment, which means that they did not acquire the dark brown color characteristic of black coffee.

What does green coffee look like?

Green coffee beans have a dull olive color and higher humidity than black coffee.

High-quality green coffee is a product consisting of whole grains without traces of the vital activity of insects or mold. In addition, grains should not have spots of a different color and odors, indicating a violation of the conditions of transportation and storage of raw materials.

The taste of green coffee

In fairness, it should be noted that green coffee does not have such advantages of its roasted black counterpart as an unsurpassed aroma, dark velvety grains and rich taste. But this does not make it less popular among people who appreciate coffee not only for their amazing taste, but also for the benefits that it brings to the body.

So, green coffee has a rich herb-tart aroma, astringent and even sour taste that not everyone will like (the taste of green coffee is somewhat reminiscent of the taste of unripe persimmons). At the same time, in the process of roasting, green coffee acquires a brownish color (although not as saturated as that of black coffee).

Methods for processing green coffee

There are two types of primary processing through which coffee passes after collection, as well as peeling of beans - dry and wet.

Dry processing

This method is the oldest and at the same time simple, since it was resorted to from the very beginning of the cultivation and processing of coffee. A prerequisite for such processing is a sufficient amount of sunlight.

In the process of dry drying, the coffee is spread in a thin layer in the sun and is periodically mixed, while coffee beans are covered overnight, which helps protect the raw materials from moisture. After two weeks of such drying, the fruits of the coffee are peeled by means of special installations.

It should be noted that in regions with insufficient sunlight, mechanical dryers are used, so the drying time is reduced, and is 2 to 3 days.

Wet processing

This method is time-consuming, however, the coffee beans obtained at its output are of higher quality, therefore it is quite natural that wet drying is used mainly when processing elite varieties of coffee.

The wet processing process involves several stages:

  • 1st stage:   Sorting coffee fruits that need to be ripened well.
  • 2nd stage:   The collected fruits are placed in a special mill, in which the peeling of the grains takes place.
  • 3rd stage:   Particles of pulp remaining after mill processing are removed from the grains. For this, the grains are placed in water for a day, after which the pulp is easily separated under the pressure of water (this is the high cost of the process, because countries specializing in growing coffee are located near the equator, and therefore, water is in short supply there).
  • 4th stage:   Grain drying.
  After processing, the grains are sent to a warehouse where they undergo the strictest quality control and are sorted.

Where does green coffee grow?

The homeland of green coffee, whose cultivation culture is about 800 years old, is the province of Kaffa, located in Ethiopia. It was from here, and not from Brazil, that coffee began its triumphal march around the world.

According to Arabic legend, once the goats, having eaten coffee beans, stayed awake, ran and frolic all night, which did not escape the attention of the shepherd Kaldim, who decided to experience the effects of the red fruits of the bush with beautiful shiny green leaves. But the drink prepared by the shepherd had an unpleasant taste. Frustrated Kaldim threw branches with fruits into the fire, and after a few minutes he felt a stupefying aroma. The shepherd again made a drink, but from roasted coffee beans. Kaldim, having drunk a fragrant and tasty drink, felt cheerful throughout the day and all night. The shepherd told his vivacity secret to the abbot of the nearby monastery, who had tasted the tonic effect of the drink on himself and his monks, who later fought with coffee with the help of coffee during night prayers.

Storage

Shelf life of green coffee is one year. At the same time, humidity of 50 percent and an air temperature of +25 degrees are considered good conditions for its storage.

Important!   Nutrients and other beneficial substances contained in green coffee are lost during long-term storage, as well as due to exposure to light or heat.

Composition and properties of green coffee

Coffee tree is considered to be a unique natural laboratory containing more than 1200 active substances, including micro and macro elements, vitamins and antioxidants.

An interesting fact is that during the processing of grains, their processing and preparation, the chemical composition of the product is modified.

Next, we consider the main and most important components of green coffee, to which this product owes its healing properties.
Caffeine
  Green coffee contains a small amount of this substance (compared to black coffee).

The effect of caffeine on the body:

  • increases mental and physical activity when used within reasonable limits (otherwise, there may be a violation of the normal functioning of the central nervous system);
  • relieves fatigue;
  • helps to accelerate metabolic processes;
  • improves memory;
  • stimulates the functioning of the cardiovascular system;
  • prevents the accumulation of fat;
  • relieves spasms.
Tannin
Tannin forms a biological film, which prevents the negative effects on the body of all kinds of external as well as internal factors.

Act:

  • reduces capillary permeability;
  • promotes narrowing of blood vessels;
  • neutralizes the effect of bacteria;
  • promotes wound healing;
  • normalizes the digestive tract;
  • fights symptoms of poisoning with both heavy metals and plant poisons.
Chlorogenic acid
  This organic acid is a powerful antioxidant that helps cleanse the body of free radicals. But chlorogenic acid is found only in raw coffee beans: so, in the process of roasting, this acid is converted into simpler organic products, which give the coffee a characteristic (slightly astringent) taste.

Act:

  • a decrease in the rate of absorption of carbohydrates, which prevents the accumulation of so-called subcutaneous fat;
  • stimulation of the central nervous system, circulatory and respiratory systems;
  • digestion normalization;
  • stimulation of nitrogen metabolism;
  • strengthening the construction of protein molecules;
  • reduced risk of type 2 diabetes.
Theophylline
Act:
  • decreased contractile activity of smooth muscles (theophylline relaxes the muscles of both the bronchi and blood vessels);
  • increased renal blood flow;
  • normalization of respiratory function;
  • blood saturation with oxygen;
  • decrease in carbon dioxide concentration;
  • stimulation of cardiac activity by increasing the strength and heart rate;
  • lowering the tone of blood vessels;
  • reduced risk of thrombosis.
Amino acids
  Amino acids are responsible for the full development of the body and maintaining its proper functioning.

Act:

  • improving the absorption of vitamins and minerals;
  • the development of antibodies that help fight viruses and infections;
  • the production of hormones that improve the course of metabolic processes;
  • the production of hemoglobin, which supplies oxygen to the cells of the body;
  • promoting muscle gain and quick muscle recovery after training;
  • destruction of subcutaneous fat;
  • dull appetite;
  • decreased vascular tone;
  • removal of radionuclides and salts of heavy metals.
Lipids
Lipids provide the synthesis of most hormones responsible for the full functioning of the nervous system.

Tannins
  Thanks to these substances, coffee acquires its characteristic astringency.

Tannins, combined with organic acids, contribute to the acceleration of metabolism and a decrease in the concentration of glucose in the bloodstream.

Cellulose
  Act:

  • normalization of intestinal microflora;
  • removal of excess, "bad" cholesterol;
  • stimulation of natural weight loss;
  • improvement of blood flow in the vessels of the pelvis;
  • restoration of the genitourinary system;
  • normalization of the digestive process;
  • relief of allergic reactions;
  • strengthening immunity;
  • lowering the risk of developing heart and vascular diseases;
  • prevention of cancer.
Trigonellin
  Trigonellin during frying is destroyed, as a result of which a sufficiently large amount of nicotinic acid is formed.

The effect of nicotinic acid:

  • ensuring normal tissue growth;
  • improved fat metabolism;
  • calming the nervous system;
  • promoting the production of gastric juice;
  • pressure reduction;
  • contributing to the production of hormones such as estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, insulin, thyroxine and cortisone;
  • increased joint mobility;
  • digestion normalization;
  • maintaining optimal blood glucose;
  • activation and normalization of brain activity;
  • vasodilation;
  • blood flow normalization;
  • improving liver function;
  • regulation of cholesterol and lipoproteins.
Essential oils
  Act:
  • regulate the work of the cardiovascular system;
  • eliminate the foci of inflammation;
  • soften cough;
  • increase the discharge of mucus from the bronchi;
  • neutralize the effect of bacteria;
  • improve the digestive tract.

Properties of green coffee

  • Fat burning;
  • anti-cellulite;
  • anti-inflammatory;
  • antioxidant;
  • tonic;
  • antifungal;
  • antiviral;
  • anti-cancer;
  • antispasmodic;
  • diuretic;
  • laxative;
  • decongestant.

Action of green coffee

How does green coffee work?

Caffeine, which is contained in a small amount in green coffee, not only regulates, but also enhances the processes of excitation directly in the cerebral cortex. This contributes, firstly, to an increase in mental and physical activity, and secondly, to the acceleration of all metabolic processes occurring in the body.

Green coffee (due to the presence of nicotinic acid) helps to speed up metabolism, as a result of which the rate of burning fat increases. At the same time, plant grains are a rich source of vitamins, amino acids and minerals that help maintain the normal functioning of the body.

Green coffee reduces the need for glucose by about half, thereby regulating and controlling the blood sugar level. As a result, using green coffee, a person is less likely to need sweets.

One of the indisputable advantages of green coffee is its ability to suppress appetite and dull hunger (and we know that it is overeating most often leads to uncontrolled weight gain and the formation of excess body fat). Simply put, green coffee contributes to the process of losing weight and prevents the gain of extra pounds.

It is also important that green coffee significantly reduces fat reserves, so every time after eating and consuming a cup of this drink, the body has to look for the so-called additional energy sources, which become excess fats. Bottom line: the effective burning of fats by the body itself, without the use of synthetic agents, which often negatively affect the body and the functioning of its various systems.

Green coffee extract helps to lower blood pressure, lowers the concentration of cholesterol in the blood (recall that it is the excessive amount of cholesterol that is often the main cause of disturbances in the heart). Thus, the regular use of green coffee is an excellent prevention of various cardiovascular diseases.

Green Coffee Efficiency

The high efficiency of a product such as green coffee is due primarily to its truly unique dietary properties.

FirstlyIt contains natural antioxidants that stimulate the breakdown of accumulations of fat cells. While traditional black roasted coffee helps break down about 14 percent of body fat, green coffee removes more than 45 percent of fat. Conclusion: green unroasted coffee 3 times more effective breaks down the fat layer in comparison with regular coffee. In addition, antioxidants promote the elimination of free radicals.

Secondly, during the loss of extra pounds, the skin does not lose its elasticity and resilience, but rather becomes more healthy and beautiful.

Thirdly, green coffee does not harm the body with moderate use, because it contains a small amount of caffeine (it is this element that is part of coffee that poses the greatest threat to health with excessive use). But in a moderate amount, caffeine is only useful, as it nourishes the body with the energy necessary to maintain vitality and activity throughout the day.

Fourth, green coffee has a beneficial effect on brain activity, which contributes to increased performance.

Benefit and harm

The benefits of green coffee

1.   Promotes fat burning.
2.   It activates the metabolism.
3.   Dulls the feeling of hunger.
4.   Reduces appetite.
5.   Normalizes blood sugar and cholesterol.
6.   Removes toxins and toxins.
7.   Prevents skin aging.
8.   Relieves inflammation.
9.   Protects from ultraviolet radiation.
10.   Helps to improve metabolism.
11.   Improves blood circulation.
12.   Normalizes the work of the cardiovascular system.
13. Normalizes the function of the endocrine glands.
14.   Improves memory.
15.   Regulates the digestive tract.
16.   Improves mood.
17.   Strengthens bones and muscles.
18.   Normalizes bowel function.
19.   Stimulates mental and physical activity.
20.   Eliminates a headache.
21.   Improves the functioning of the higher nervous system.
22.   Promotes hair growth and strengthening.
23.   Relieves swelling by removing excess fluid from the body.
24.   It promotes the breakdown of sugar and inhibits the transport of glucose into the blood, due to which it is used in the treatment of diabetes.
25.   Prevents blockage of blood vessels.

The harm of green coffee

As mentioned above, it is caffeine that poses a threat to health if it enters the body excessively. Consider the negative effects of this substance.

1.   The systematic use of caffeine in large doses (of the order of 1000 mg per day or more) can provoke depletion of nerve cells, and eventually lead to dependence.

Symptoms of caffeine addiction:

  • headache;
  • chronic fatigue;
  • excessive irritability;
  • worsening of mood (up to the development of depression);
  • nausea;
  With addiction, the tonic properties of coffee gradually decrease, as a result of which an increase in the usual dose will be required to achieve the necessary (or previous) effect.

2.   Long-term stimulation of the nervous system through coffee is the reason that the body is constantly in an excited state, and therefore, the nervous system experiences systematic stress. Such stress not only depletes nerve cells, but also disrupts the normal functioning of all body systems.

3.   High doses of caffeine can trigger the development of psychosis, epilepsy, paranoia, and unmotivated aggression.

4.   Coffee stimulates cardiac activity, stimulating the vasomotor center and teaching the pulse. In addition, it is caffeine that provokes a slight increase in blood pressure. Therefore, in large quantities of coffee (both black and green) is not recommended for people with arterial hypertension and ischemia.

In general, the harm of the drink to the cardiac system depends on the presence of such factors:

  • diseases of the cardiovascular system and a hereditary predisposition to them;
  • excess weight;
  • malnutrition;
  • low physical activity.
5.   Coffee “flushes” calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, B1, and B6 vitamins from the body, which can lead to the following serious problems:
  • spoilage of teeth;
  • fragility of bones;
  • the development of osteochondrosis;
  • chronic pain in the back and cervical spine;
  • violation of the blood supply to the brain.
Output:   even green coffee should be consumed in moderation!

Types of Green Coffee

Natural green coffee beans

Today, natural green coffee beans in bulk are mainly supplied from countries such as India, Ethiopia, Brazil and Colombia. At the same time, with the increasing demand for this product, the quantity of coffee supplied is also growing.

Green coffee beans can be sold in a monosort (that is, coffee beans belong to the same species and variety, and are also harvested from the same plantation) or in a blended form, which involves mixing different varieties in order to obtain a specific taste and aroma of the drink. Most often, blended green coffee includes no more than 13 varieties, while mixing takes into account the size and density of the grains. In addition, it is important that the grains undergo the same treatment before the blending process, otherwise the roasting will be heterogeneous.

Raw green coffee beans contain the maximum amount of nutrients.

Raw (non-roasted) green coffee

The constant use of raw coffee beans that have not undergone the roasting procedure contributes to stable weight loss due to the content of chlorogenic acid in the beans, which is destroyed by roasting. It is this substance that breaks down fats in the intestine, thereby preventing their absorption in the blood.

Unroasted coffee is of the highest (Premium), first, as well as second grades. According to Russian standards, only Premium class grain is subject to sale. But American (and world) standards highlighted the Specialty variety, which meets the highest quality standards. It is coffee made from the Specialty variety that is currently served in coffee houses and restaurants.

Plain roasted green coffee

Green coffee grains that have undergone heat treatment lose their certain healing properties, since during the roasting process, some substances contained in the fruits of the plant are converted to others. For example, when roasting, the decomposition of chlorogenic acid occurs, for the content of which green coffee is appreciated.

But roasted coffee has a lot of useful properties. The main thing is to properly fry the grains, because not only the aroma and taste of the drink, but also the content of useful substances in it depends on the degree of roasting.

At home, a thermal contact method of processing grains is carried out (in other words, roasting in a pan or in the oven). The disadvantage of this method is that it is difficult for an amateur to determine the readiness of the product: for example, the middle of the grain should be fried, while the outer part should not burn.

Ground green coffee powder

Powdered (or ground) green coffee can be purchased ready-made, or you can grind it yourself. The resulting powder can be used to make your favorite drink, and can be included in the composition of anti-cellulite, cleansing and regenerating cosmetics.

For the preparation of a coffee drink, 2 tsp. Powder is poured into a glass of boiling water and left to infuse for 5 minutes (if desired, you can strain before use).

Instant granular green coffee

Granulated coffee is obtained from a powder that has undergone a spray drying process through aggregation, during which the powder is wetted to form granules. Further, coffee powder under intense steam pressure is knocked into small lumps - granules.

Important!   Intense pressure modifies the molecular structure of the grain, as a result of which the beneficial properties of green coffee are significantly lost.

Freeze-dried green coffee

Freeze-dried coffee, also called freeze-dried coffee, is made by freeze-drying. When preparing this type of instant coffee, the coffee extract is subject to rapid freezing at very low temperatures, as a result of which iced coffee agglomerate is formed, from which all excess liquid is removed by vacuum, high temperature, and extraction. Then an almost dry coffee monolith is broken into dense and homogeneous pyramid crystals.

Such an expensive technology for the production of freeze-dried green coffee, during which a drink is obtained, the taste and aroma of which are closest to natural, has caused its high cost.

Instructions for use green coffee

How to grind green coffee?

Grinding beans is one of the most important stages in the preparation of any coffee, including green. Coffee beans are ground to intensely identify the taste, as well as highlight the aroma of essential oils. So, the finer the grinding - the larger the area of \u200b\u200bcontact between the water and the coffee itself will be, namely, this ratio affects the extraction rate.

It should be noted that raw green coffee beans have a high degree of hardness and density, so it is extremely difficult to grind them with a conventional coffee grinder. For this reason, instead of an electric coffee grinder, it is recommended to use small mills designed for manual grinding. Their main difference from electric models is that because of the low speed of work, coffee beans do not have time to heat up, and therefore lose their taste, aroma and useful properties.

Important!   Green coffee should be ground large enough (the size of the ground beans should be about 1.5 * 1 mm). To facilitate the grinding process, you can pre-soak the grains in cold water.

In the absence of devices for manual grinding, you can use a mechanical meat grinder, hard and rigid blades of which are able to grind strong grains of green coffee.

Do I need to fry?

Roasting green coffee helps to improve the taste of the drink, reduce the level of caffeine in it, as well as a more comfortable grinding of beans.

If green coffee is planned to be used as a tonic and slimming product, then the grains are only slightly dried in a dry frying pan. It is important to prevent the discoloration of the grains and the appearance of any extraneous odors.

In addition, slightly dried green coffee is much easier to grind. At the same time, it contains a small amount of caffeine and the maximum number of useful substances is preserved, as well as chlorogenic acid, which accelerates the metabolism and has a host of other properties that have a beneficial effect on the body.

If the priority is the taste of coffee, the beans are fried until they have a light brown color for 15 minutes in a dry frying pan.

Green coffee grains are roasted on the basis of seeds or peanuts in a pan (it is better not to roast in the oven, since in this case the grains are difficult to mix, and therefore, the raw materials will be roasted unevenly).

To roast coffee beans, it is recommended to use cast-iron dishes that are preheated. In this case, it is advisable to allocate a separate pan for this, as coffee has the property of easily absorbing all extraneous odors.

So, at the bottom of a pre-heated pan, grains are poured in one (maximum two) layers. The process of frying begins on a low fire, the intensity of which should gradually be increased (but too much fire cannot be done, because this can lead to the fact that the grains will quickly burn out and become bitter). During roasting, the duration of which is 5-15 minutes (it all depends on the purpose of using green coffee and individual taste preferences), the grains are constantly stirred with a wooden spatula. With longer roasting, the grains will acquire a rich brown tint and aroma, while the caffeine content in them will increase significantly.

The stages of roasting coffee beans
1.   Acquisition of grains of a light yellowish tint and grassy aroma.
2.   The release of water from the beans, during which the coffee begins to "smoke".
3.   The appearance of the "first cod", indicating that the roasting process has entered its active stage. During this stage, the sugars that make up the grains begin to caramelize, while the water evaporates and their structure breaks down. Bottom line: essential oils from the grains go outside. After the appearance of the "first cod", you can finish the frying at any time (it all depends on your taste preferences).
4.   Continuation of caramelization and the release of oils from grains. At the same time, coffee beans begin to increase in size and darken.
5.   The appearance of the "second cod", which in its intensity is much inferior to the first. At this stage of frying, small pieces of grains can “fly out” of the pan, so be careful and protect your eyes from microparticles.
6.   Removing roasted coffee from a fire. It should be remembered that the product will “reach” for some time due to its own temperature. Therefore, lovers of low roast coffee are recommended to turn off the stove in advance.

It is important to prevent very dark roasting, accompanied by the appearance of dense and corrosive steam over the grains (the fact is that at this stage the sugar is completely burned and the grain structure is destroyed, as a result of which the drink will be non-aromatic and very bitter).

When the coffee “reaches”, it should be poured into a container, covered with thick paper and left for at least six hours to cool and remove excess carbon dioxide, for which several small holes can be made using paper pins.

The cooled coffee is peeled and ground.

Important!   When grinding freshly roasted coffee beans, they will have a sour taste and bitterness.

Coffee is stored in a sealed container in a dark and dry place.

Important!   When roasting coffee beans, the use of oil is unacceptable.

The mixed drink is left for brewing for 3 - 5 minutes, after which it is poured into preheated cups (you can strain the coffee if desired).

In this case, the coffee is removed from the fire when foam appears. After the foam settles, the Turk again goes to the stove. A similar manipulation is performed 3-4 times, after which the drink is mixed and poured into cups, preheated with hot water.

Making green coffee using a French press
1.   The glass part of the French press is heated with hot water, after draining of which ground coffee of coarse grinding is poured into the container (medium or fine coffee will firstly seep through the filter, and secondly, it will be harder to press through the press).
2.   Coffee is poured with hot water and mixed.
3.   The French press is covered with a lid, but the filter is not squeezed for another 3-5 minutes (it all depends on what kind of strength you want to get the drink at the outlet).
4.   The rod is slowly driven by lowering the filter.
5.   The liquid separated from the coffee grounds is poured into preheated cups.

Everything is as simple as possible when using a coffee maker or coffee machine, where all processes are automated. Everyone can choose the best option for themselves at the price, quality, volume and methods of preparing the drink.
