Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is to treat the crumbs with sweets or a delicious children's dessert, because everyone knows how children love sweets. But is it possible for children to have sweets, especially at such a tender age?

If you look, this desire of adults is dictated more likely by the need to be glad for themselves, looking at the child, than his real needs at this age. The fact is that the period of introduction of complementary foods is a complex and rather lengthy process of rebuilding the child’s body during the transition from milk to new food. This stage is considered critical in the life of every baby. This is due to the fact that the digestive, immune and other systems of the child’s body, taking part in adapting to a new type of product, are still very immature, the intestinal microflora is tender and vulnerable, and the slightest disturbance in nutrition can cause significant harm to a small person.

The main task of parents in the first year of life of a baby is to introduce him to the main products (vegetables, cereals, meat, fruits, yolk, dairy products, fish), adhering to the feeding scheme, which is developed taking into account the physiological readiness of the child to accept and absorb new food. The introduction of products and dishes that do not correspond to the physiological capabilities of the baby can lead to a breakdown in adaptation and provoke the development of allergic reactions, digestive disorders, intestinal dysbiosis and other undesirable problems.

For this reason, one should not rush to give the child a sweet for at least 10 months, until the main foods are introduced.

Is sugar possible for a child?

Dessert for children as a “sweet spot” at the end of lunch is introduced into the baby’s menu only in the second year of life. If the parents nevertheless decided to treat their little gourmet earlier, they should choose the right "goodies" that are suitable for the baby by age and will not harm his health.

Dangerous!  Unfortunately, children's desserts often include products containing sugar and other refined foods, hydrogenated fats, and unhealthy food additives. Familiarity with such "goodies" is better to postpone until a later time.

Desserts for children: basic rules

Note the following requirements for children's desserts:

  • Culinary delights for the smallest should contain foods that are already familiar to the baby, otherwise dessert may cause it to be allergic or have problems with the gastrointestinal tract.
  • Desserts for children should be easy to digest, consisting of a small amount of ingredients so as not to overload the child's immature enzymatic system.
  • Desserts are ideal for children without sugar, which do not lead to the development of a child’s food allergies, caries, the appearance of excess weight, and disorders of the digestive system.
  • In the preparation of desserts for children under 1 year old, it is not recommended to use additives such as honey, gelatin, cocoa, spices and spices because of their high allergenicity. As a thickener for desserts "year-olds" the use of semolina is allowed.

Monthly Sweets Menu

  • 6 months: for dessert crumbs can be given fruit and fruit and berry purees.
  • 7 months: baby cookies, unleavened biscuits, drying without additives (no more than 15 g per day, i.e. give one dryer or one cookie).
  • 8 months: fruit and milk purees and juices.
  • 10–11 months: fruit and berry mousses
  • 12 months: souffle, puddings (from cereals, cottage cheese, fruits and eggs), jelly.

Advice!  The composition of any soufflé or pudding necessarily includes beaten egg white, which is highly allergenic. Therefore, it is preferable to use less allergenic quail eggs for making puddings and soufflés and include these dishes in the baby’s diet only with good egg white tolerance. Mothers of allergic children should generally postpone the baby’s acquaintance with desserts for children containing brightly colored fruits and berries (red, orange), eggs, whole cow’s milk, up to 1–1.5 years old.

So, a balanced diet will provide the baby with everything necessary for proper growth and development, and too much variety in the products will only give unnecessary stress to the small body. Be patient, and after a while you will be able to treat your beloved child with a variety of delicious dishes without harm to his health.

Apples are a healthy fruit in a baby’s diet. They have been added to food since 5-6 months in the form of mashed potatoes or juice - this is a real storehouse of vitamins and minerals, so necessary for the growth and development of the child. In the first year of a baby’s life, it will be difficult to diversify his menu with multicomponent dishes - many products are still “forbidden”. But when the baby grows older, he can be offered tasty and healthy desserts based on apples - there are enough recipes.

Apples are useful for children in any form - fresh, dried, baked. Even after heat treatment, fruits retain a significant portion of nutrients. They contain vitamins (C, A, group B), trace elements (iron, copper, magnesium, sodium, iodine), fiber - it is the composition that explains the positive effect that regular consumption of apples has on the body of crumbs.

The health benefits of apples are difficult to overestimate:

  • Adding apples to the baby’s diet helps to improve the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, liver and kidneys.
  • Apples are also useful in caring for a child’s milk teeth. Dentists advise every day to give the baby, who has not yet learned oral hygiene, a small piece of fruit in the morning and evening - this replaces the procedure for brushing your teeth.
  • Apples increase appetite - add them to baby food if the baby does not eat well.
  • The fruit contains easily digestible iron - their regular use becomes an excellent prevention of iron deficiency anemia.
  • Apples become a natural defense against bacteria and viruses - which is especially true in the autumn-winter period.

Dessert - a dish that completes lunch or dinner. As a rule, these are sweet “delicacies” - for example, cakes, pastries, ice cream, buns. All these are not the most useful foods in the baby’s diet, as they contain a large amount of sugar and “fast” carbohydrates. But dessert can be made useful if you make it from fruits and berries! And apples in the list of frequently used products for delicious dishes occupy far from the last place.

Add such desserts to the child’s food, in which apples are combined with dried apricots, carrots, bananas, nuts, raisins, dairy products - so the beneficial substances from the fruit will be better absorbed by the child’s body. An excellent option for the children's menu will be a dessert that does not imply when preparing the heat treatment - there will be more vitamins and minerals in it. Flour sweets from apples will be less useful for babies - until 2 years old, they should not be added to the diet. Pay attention to the amount of sugar used - it should be minimal. For children of 1.5 years, you can don’t sweeten desserts at all if you choose sweet varieties of apples.

Recipes for apple desserts will be a real salvation for those mothers whose children are reluctant to eat fresh fruits - the child will definitely not refuse a delicious aromatic dish. Indulge your baby with healthy treats.

The choice of recipes for apple desserts for children up to a year is very limited - now only one or multi-component mashed potatoes, juices are allowed. When a child's teeth begin to erupt, his menu can be supplemented with dishes with finely chopped pieces of fruit. The baby’s digestive system becomes “stronger” - accordingly, the range of products that can be used in the preparation of desserts is expanding.

In the baby’s nutrition, add only those desserts, which include products that do not cause allergic reactions in him! Use only the ingredients that the child has already tried.

Every mother wants to please her little one with something tasty. But what if the baby is not even a year old, what to cook for such a crumb for dessert? Below are recipes for treats that can be offered to babies older than 10 months.

  Baked apple

An apple is one of the most affordable and healthy fruits in a baby’s diet. During baking, apples retain all the necessary vitamins and minerals. With mashed baked apple, it is preferable to start acquaintance with this useful fruit for children prone to allergies and digestive disorders. For baking, it is better to choose non-acidic varieties so that you do not have to add sugar and preserve the natural sweetness of the apple for the baby.

Ingredients:

Apple - 1 pc., ½ teaspoon sugar

Cooking method:

Wash the apple well in running water, cut off the hat and carefully cut the core so as not to damage the bottom. Add sugar to the middle of the apple. Pour water into the bottom of the baking dish and place an apple. Bake for 20 minutes at 180 degrees. For children up to a year, it is preferable to cook baked apples in a double boiler.   Blackcurrant Jelly

Kissel is a very tasty and healthy drink based on berries and starch, but because of the starch content in it, it is a high-calorie and difficult to digest dish, therefore it is introduced into the baby’s diet closer to 1 year and not more often 1-2 times a week ( for a child of 1 year in an amount of 100 ml). Kissel is not recommended for children who are overweight and prone to constipation. Ready-made store jelly bags are not used in baby food, as they contain preservatives, dyes and other harmful additives. You can cook jelly for the baby from fresh and frozen berries.

Ingredients:

1/3 cup blackcurrant (any other berries),

120 ml of water

1/2 teaspoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon of potato starch.

Cooking method:

Sort the berries, rinse, scald with boiling water (thaw frozen berries), mash and squeeze the juice. Pour the squeezed juice into non-oxidizable (glass, enamelled) dishes and refrigerate. Pour cake with hot water, cook for 5-10 minutes, strain. Add sugar, starch diluted in cold water to the broth, stir and bring to a boil. Then remove from heat and, stirring, cool slightly, add previously squeezed juice, mix thoroughly.

  Rice Pudding with Fruit

Ingredients:

3 tbsp. tablespoons of round grain rice,

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon butter,

1/2 apple

1/2 tsp sugar.

Cooking method:

Boil rice in water, then add milk to it, continue cooking for some more time to make a viscous milk rice porridge. Add to it egg yolk, mashed with sugar, butter, grated apple and pear. Mix everything well. Beat egg white in a thick foam, add it to the rice mixture and mix gently with a spoon. Put in a form and cook in a double boiler for 20-30 minutes.
