Lavash roll with cheese, garlic and herbs. Here's a simple recipe for a versatile hearty snack

30.08.2019 Salads

Lavash rolls are very simple and tasty snacks for the festive table. They can be served both for Birthday and New Years, and for almost any family holiday when you want variety on a rich table. This simple, tasty dish gained its popularity not so long ago, and now it takes pride of place among traditional appetizers. And it's no secret that you can make lavash rolls with a huge variety of fillings.

We will tell you a few recipes for the most delicious rolls, and you will surely find the ones that suit your taste. These snacks are sure to please your guests and delight loved ones.

The main component of this appetizer is Armenian thin lavash. It is sold in stores in the bakery department and is almost always readily available. If desired, it is not difficult to bake it yourself. But, if there is no time for this, then a good fresh pita from the store is perfect.

Lavash rolls with red fish (salmon) and cream cheese

To prepare such a roll, we need:

  • Armenian thin lavash,
  • slightly salted red fish (salmon, trout, chum salmon) - 200 grams,
  • soft cream cheese (not processed, look for soft cheeses in jars like Almetta, Cremetta, Violetta, Philadelphia, Mascarpone) - 180-200 grams,
  • lemon juice - 1-2 teaspoons, drizzle over fish.
  • greens to taste

To make pita rolls with salmon and cream cheese, cut lightly salted salmon into thin slices. The thinner the pieces are, the easier it will be to wrap the roll and the neater it will look.

Spread the cream cheese over the pita bread in a thin, even layer. Then, lay out the fish slices, but not closely, but at small intervals. It is good to alternate the taste of cheese and fish in layers if you put them in a checkerboard pattern.

Drizzle lightly with lemon juice on the salmon to accentuate the flavor. A cooking spray is a great way to apply the lemon juice in a thin, even layer.

After that, you can sprinkle the pita bread with cheese and fish with a thin layer of finely chopped greens. Dill or green onions are great. But I do not recommend putting too much greens, as they can overwhelm the delicate flavors of fish and cheese. Better to decorate the rolls with herbs on top, when serving.

Roll the pita bread into a very dense sausage, wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least half an hour. During this time, the lavash will soak and become softer.

Take the roll out of the refrigerator right before serving it on the festive table. After you have unwrapped it, cut into slices 2-3 centimeters thick exactly across if you want smaller portions, or diagonally, which will make the slices longer and larger.

Arrange nicely on a plate and garnish with herbs or cherry tomatoes.

Lavash rolls with crab sticks and melted cheese

For such a delicious roll you will need:

  • Armenian lavash - 1 piece,
  • crab sticks - packaging,
  • processed cheese - 150 grams,
  • mayonnaise - 2-3 tablespoons,
  • greens to taste

For this, the roll will be useful to prepare the filling in advance, namely to mix it in the form of a salad, this will allow the ingredients to stick better with the sauce and prevent the roll from falling apart later.

Take crab sticks and grate them on a coarse grater. You can also cut it into small strips with a knife. Avoid large, thick pieces, they will make the roll bumpy and ugly, and it will be more difficult to wrap it.

If you are using hard processed cheese in briquettes, then grate it. If soft, mix it with crab sticks, but reduce the amount of mayonnaise.

Chop the herbs finely. Combine crab sticks, cheese, herbs and mayonnaise in a separate bowl until smooth.

Spread the pita bread on a clean, dry surface. Spread the resulting filling on it with an even layer. Roll the roll tightly, being careful not to leave air bubbles. Wrap the finished roll in plastic wrap and soak in the refrigerator. This should take at least half an hour, then the pita will not be too dry and the appetizer will turn out to be tender.

Before serving, remove the pita bread from the film and cut it into slices 2-3 centimeters thick. Arrange nicely on a platter and garnish as desired. Rolls with crab sticks and cream cheese are ready! Bon Appetit!

Lavash rolls with ham and cheese

To make pita rolls with ham and cheese, you will need:

  • thin Armenian roll - 1 piece,
  • ham - 250-300 grams,
  • hard cheese - 250-300 grams,
  • mayonnaise - 3-4 tablespoons,
  • fresh or pickled cucumbers at will - 2-3 pieces,
  • fresh herbs.

Such a roll is prepared very quickly, so all preliminary preparation will consist in cutting the filling.

There are two ways to stack the filling.

The first is to cut the cheese and ham into very thin slices. Lay out a sheet of pita bread spread with mayonnaise in two layers. Put thinly cut cucumbers on top and sprinkle with herbs. Then roll the roll tightly. Please note that the thicker you make the cheese and ham slices, the more difficult it will be to roll the roll and the thicker it will turn out in the end.

The second method is to grate the cheese on a coarse grater, cut the ham into thin strips, chop the cucumbers in the same way as ham. After that, mix cheese, ham and cucumbers with mayonnaise, as for preparing a salad. Then, spread the filling over the pita bread with an even layer. Tightly twist the pita bread and put it in the refrigerator to soak, previously wrapped in cling film.

Before serving, cut the roll into circles 2-3 centimeters thick. A delicious appetizer for the festive table is ready!

Lavash rolls with Korean carrots

For a roll you will need:

  • Korean carrots - 200 grams,
  • hard boiled eggs - 2 pieces,
  • processed cheese - 200 grams,
  • greens,
  • some mayonnaise,
  • a clove of garlic.

To make pita rolls with Korean carrots, prepare pita bread. Spread it out on a dry, clean surface. Grate hard-boiled eggs on a coarse grater, mix with melted cheese, finely chopped herbs and chopped garlic. Add mayonnaise Apply this filling on the pita bread in an even layer. Sprinkle with Korean carrots on top. If there are too large pieces, cut them into smaller pieces.

Then, roll up tightly and refrigerate for a while. Remember to wrap it in plastic wrap.

You can serve in an hour, cutting into circles 2-3 centimeters thick.

Lavash rolls with chicken

This is a simple and tasty filling for rolls, which is suitable both for a holiday and for a regular dinner. It will require:

  • thin Armenian lavash - 1 piece,
  • boiled chicken breast - 1 piece,
  • hard-boiled eggs - 2-3 pieces,
  • mayonnaise + sour cream in equal proportions - 3-4 tablespoons,
  • garlic - 1-2 cloves.

For this roll, the chicken must be boiled in salted water in advance, then cut into thin strips. Boil the eggs and grate them on a coarse grater.

Chop the garlic with a knife or in a special crusher. Mix eggs, garlic and mayonnaise and sour cream sauce, spread them evenly on pita bread. Place the chicken on top, spreading it over the entire surface. Add greens, such as parsley or lettuce, if desired.

After that, roll up the roll tightly, wrap it in plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator. It is advisable to cut such a roll before serving.

No special skill or culinary experience is required for cooking, it all depends on your passions and diligence.

A classic and quick dish that is made literally in a matter of minutes is pita bread with cheese and herbs. This versatile snack is often found in oriental cuisine. Today, in almost any cafe and fast food, you can order this amazing dish, filled with various ingredients for every taste. The recipe for the appetizer is simple and completely understandable even for a novice housewife.

Thin lavash is stuffed with anything: meat, vegetables, fish, canned food, mushrooms, red caviar, slightly salted salmon, cheese and Korean salads. Pita bread with cheese turns out to be very tasty. Any recipe involves the use of various sauces: tomato, egg, sour cream or garlic.

Lavash can also be stuffed with sweet products: fruits, berries, chocolate, etc. Recipes from this thin layer of dough have gained worldwide popularity and demand. In our article, we will describe in detail all the nuances of their preparation and demonstrate bright and “tasty” photographs for dishes. So let's get started!

Recipe number 1: lavash with cheese and herbs

The composition of the appetizer: one layer of butter (20 grams), cheese (preferably hard) - about two hundred grams, dill and cilantro.

Freshness is the key to amazing taste - take care of that. Put the butter out of the refrigerator in advance, then grease the baking sheet with it. The second stage is shredding greens. Finely chop this fortified product with a knife and put it aside. The third stage is grating the cheese.

Pour cheese and herbs on top of the butter, gently twist into a tube and cut into portions. We send pita bread with cheese and herbs to the oven and let stand for several minutes - until the cheese melts. Depending on preference, the pieces can be fried in a pan or heated in the microwave. The most important thing is not to overdry the dough. Perfect for breakfast with coffee or tea.

Recipe number 2: with melted cheese and sausage

Ingredients: lavash, processed cheese, any greens (two hundred grams), two pickled cucumbers and mayonnaise (to taste, you can replace with sour cream).

Buy better ready-made processed cheese "Viola" or "President", or you can use ordinary processed cheese like "Friendship". Take the amount of the product at your discretion. Grease the dough liberally with cheese paste, diced sausage with a cucumber and chopped herbs are placed on it - everything is covered with mayonnaise and rolled into a roll. We send it to the refrigerator for half an hour, so that it is better saturated with cheese and becomes more aromatic and tender. This is a great dish for those who don't like to experiment.

Recipe number 3: with melted cheese, canned fish and garlic

For the filling: two fresh tomatoes, processed cheese (one hundred grams), canned tuna, garlic (one clove), stewed zucchini (to taste), tomato paste (a few spoons), parsley, canned corn (two large spoons), olives.

We conditionally divide the dough layer into four zones, each with a different filling. Cover one half of the pita bread with melted cheese, and the other half with tomato paste or ketchup. As a result, we get portioned envelopes with filling.

On the first square, smeared with cheese, put stewed zucchini with chopped parsley. On the second - with tomato paste - lay out tuna and olives. The third - for processed cheese - corn with tomatoes (cut into circles). The fourth - for tomato paste - fried garlic. Cover with a second layer of pita bread and fry. Then cut into squares and serve warm pita bread with fish and cheese with any sauce. The original appetizer will undoubtedly decorate any table.

Recipe number 4: with melted cheese and cilantro

Products: two Armenian lavash, cheese (one hundred grams) and a bunch of cilantro.

We chop the greens. Cut the layers into 4 parts (squares) and brush with melted cheese for juiciness, add a little garlic (for piquancy). Put cilantro in the center, roll up with an envelope and fry in vegetable oil. Your family will appreciate it with melted cheese.

Recipe number 5: lavash pie

This dish will not take much time and effort. It will require: two sheets of thin pita bread, three eggs, tomato paste (dessert spoon), sour cream (two hundred grams), Suluguni cheese (at least three hundred grams), boiled potatoes (4 pcs.), Dill.

Cut the pre-boiled potatoes, mix them with chopped dill. Add chopped cheese to the mass. We prepare a baking dish - grease it with oil, put two layers of dough in it at once (on top of each other), the edges of which should hang down.

Put half of the filling in the center, close it with the edges of one pita bread and fill it with an egg mixture (mix tomato paste, eggs and sour cream). We put the rest of the products on top and hide them under the second layer of dough. And finally - pour over the filling and send to the oven for 40 minutes. Baked with cheese and potatoes will surprise you with its aroma and pleasant taste.

Recipe number 6: with mushroom filling

Ingredients: lightly fried champignons (glass), cheese (three hundred grams), a bunch of dill and cilantro, a little low-calorie mayonnaise and three thin layers of dough.

Grease the first sheet with mayonnaise sauce, sprinkle with chopped herbs and cover with the second sheet. On top of the second layer we spread a little mayonnaise, fried mushrooms. And on the last, third, layer of dough, greased with sauce, put grated cheese. Gently roll up into a tube and put it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours - for impregnation. Before serving, cut the pita bread with mushrooms and cheese into small pieces.

Recipe number 7: a quick hand snack

In 10 minutes you will be able to create a hearty and original dish - lavash with cheese in an egg. And we will tell you how this is done. Prepare the following foods: egg, cheese (optional), some oil, and dill.

Cut transverse ribbons from a sheet of dough. Put small slices of cheese on each and roll them up in several turns. Dip in a beaten egg and fry. A quick snack for busy people.

Recipe number 8: Lamajo (baked pita bread with chicken)

You need to take chicken fillet, about three hundred grams (depending on the number of people), tomato paste (for lubrication), cheese - one hundred grams, spices: black pepper, hops-suneli. For those who like spice, you can add chili.

Finely chop the fillet and mix with the spices. Grease the dough sheet with paste or ketchup. We spread the chicken and cover with grated cheese. Cut into two parts and roll into a roll. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake for five minutes at 180C. Serve lavash with chicken and cheese with broth or shurpa.

Recipe number 9: a dish of Armenian lavash with meat filling and cheese

Ingredients: three layers of ready-made pita bread, ground beef (half a kilogram), processed cheese (one hundred grams), onions, carrots, fresh tomatoes (2 pcs.), Garlic, herbs (dill, lettuce) and mayonnaise.

Saute the onion until golden brown, add grated carrots to it. After a few minutes, add minced meat, salt and pepper to the vegetable mixture. Simmer until tender.

During this time, cut the tomatoes into circles and chop the dill. And we make garlic dressing: combine mayonnaise with squeezed garlic. The next stage we will have is the formation of the dish.

Grease a sheet of pita bread abundantly with garlic sauce, spread half of the meat filling on it in an even layer and sprinkle with dill. We smear the second layer with melted cheese, and on top we lay out the remaining minced meat with vegetables.
