And we have plenty of them!

Casseroles with sausage and cheese - general cooking principles

All kinds of casseroles with sausage and cheese do not exist. They are prepared with boiled or raw vegetables, cereals, pasta, cottage cheese and even bread. The recipe for cooking is different, but they all have one thing in common - they are baked in the oven.

For casseroles, mostly hard cheeses are used. When crushed, it is mixed with the rest of the products or sprinkled on top of the casserole to get a ruddy cheese crust on its surface. Grind the cheese with a grater.

You can take any sausage, both boiled and smoked, as long as it does not contain large pieces of bacon. Sausages are cut according to the recipe, pieces of sausage are mixed with the bulk or layered with them.

Tins with casseroles are placed only in a well-heated oven and baked for a certain time, at the temperature specified in the recipe. After baking, the dish is kept in a mold for about a quarter of an hour and only then is it cut into pieces.

Sausage and cheese casseroles can be served for both breakfast and dinner. The dish is high in calories and nutritious.

Never boil cereals and pasta for casseroles until cooked. For these foods to hold their shape well in the casserole, they must be slightly undercooked. They will come to readiness in the oven.

To prevent vegetables from turning into porridge when baking, boil them in slightly salted water for no more than three minutes in advance.

So that the casserole easily leaves the edges of the form and does not burn, grease its bottom and sides with butter and sprinkle well with breadcrumbs after that.

For casseroles that include tomatoes, try to use meaty, non-watery varieties of tomatoes, or choose seeds from them.

Cut the hot casserole with sausage and cheese, preferably hot, until the cheese crust has cooled. Otherwise, it will become harsh, and you will not be able to cut the dish neatly.
