Due to the duty of my work, I am very familiar with the restaurant business. Therefore, I was appointed responsible for the corporate party scheduled for 12/27/07. The program was as follows 17:00 - aperitif, 18:00 - 21:00 performance, 21:00 - 24:00 buffet and disco. At 15:00 I arrived at the place and found that half of the snacks, including cheeses and tongue rolls, were already on the tables (this is 6 hours before the start of the buffet table), naturally, I demanded that everything be put into the fridges. As if not so, all refrigerators are already occupied with the remaining dishes. Thank God it was cool outside and we organized a room in which all the windows were opened. All snacks were taken there. But how people working in this business could put snacks on the table 6 hours before the start remains a mystery to me.
Further more interesting. At about 18:00, after the end of the official part, I discovered that the third floor was already COMPLETELY reserved. All snacks on the tables, wine and juices are poured into glasses (3 hours before the start). Of course, I understand that the service staff wants to quickly finish and go home, but why should we drink stale wine and windy snacks.
But the most interesting thing began when the buffet table began. Naturally, during the first hour, almost all the snacks on the tables were eaten. I went to the kitchen and found that there is still a LOT of our food, but no one is in a hurry to put it out in the hall. Yes, I understand the waiters were busy cleaning, but why no one took snacks to the hall on the way back from the sink. Both managers from the side of Meridian did not react in any way to what was happening, they had no choice but to the lantern. Then we ran out of glasses. ALL. For both wine and juice. Of course, I understand that it is easier for the waiters to stand and pour nothing (there are no glasses) than to go to the sink and pick them up from there (I checked that the sink was working properly). It turned out to be a funny situation - there is wine on the table, guests ask to pour it, to which the waiters refuse due to the lack of dishes. At the same time, the waiters stand and do NOTHING about this, however, as well as their leaders. They just do not care, the prepayment is 100%.
But this is not the worst thing. At one point, a waiter rushes past me with three bottles of champagne. I thought, what a fine fellow, probably carried the guests. But what was my surprise when I discovered for whom this champagne was really meant. In a cozy corner, at the end of a long hall on the second floor, where all the plants were moved, there is a company of waiters who are sweetly eating OUR snacks and drinking OUR wine. And this at a time when we did not have elementary clean glasses. Kick-ass. Further, passing by the station with drinks, I saw a strange swarming, raised the tablecloth and saw there two waitresses doing the same. UNDER THE TABLE.
I, approximately, saw the workload of all tables and knew the number of drinks on each of them. I was very surprised when I discovered that in the place where there were the least guests there was the least amount of wine. But there was a big black garbage bag. From where in a place where there are no guests so much garbage. I looked into the package and, lo and behold, there was wine and champagne and beer, and even in such quantities that it was difficult to lift. None of the waiters, of course, knew anything. I called the manager, who also threw up his hands, and told him that I wanted to see this package in the bar on the second floor in five minutes. As you understand, I did not wait for him either in five or ten minutes. When I went back up and asked where the bag was, the waiter calmly replied that it had already been taken downstairs. What was his surprise when I found this bag under the next table! As I understand it, this all happened with the tacit consent of the manager.
The party was drawing to a close when it turned out that at several stations the alcohol had already run out. But as soon as I looked under the tables ..... You should have seen the eyes of waiters and waitresses that hate me. I also stopped several more attempts to take out our alcohol in bags TOGETHER with the trash. At the same time, the managers, each time, made round eyes.
