Great Hall of the Conservatory Playbill for March. "Gallery of masterpieces of violin music"

On the birthday of the star - the legendary violinist of the twentieth century Yulian Sitkovetsky - only stars gathered in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory - Vadim Repin and the Moscow Soloists chamber ensemble. The conductor was the maestro Yuri Bashmet himself.
The evening in honor of Sitkovetsky was held within the framework of the festival "Fiddler for All Seasons".
Alas, very few of those now living have had a chance to hear his play, because he died, he died in 58, not having time to reach the age of Christ. But his art became a performing standard. Records of his performances have practically not survived - many were destroyed after the widow of Julian Sitkovetsky, the famous pianist Bella Davidovich, with her son Dmitry, left the Soviet Union.
But nevertheless, at the beginning of the second part, those who had gathered in the Big Hall for a concert in honor of the 94th anniversary of the "violinist for all time" had the opportunity to listen to a short fragment with a recording of Sitkovetsky's playing.
“Julian Sitkovetsky never even had his own violin: too expensive. As was customary then, they were given to him from the state collection. But, as they say, on any, even the cheapest, he played masterly.
Julian Sitkovetsky's game was called not just great, but demonic. "
And that evening, Vadim Repin, “the best living violinist”, demonstrated his skills to the public, as the German newspaper Tagesspiegel wrote about him). And the great Yehudi Menuhin, an American violinist and conductor (I am specifying this for the same amateurs as I) called him “the most perfect violinist” he had ever heard.
Vadim Repin and Yuri Bashmet have been cooperating for more than one year. “We communicate with Yura through our eyes,” says Repin. - And so it has been for many years. We understand each other. Because we have gone through a lot together. Much musical. "
And the audience of the concert was able to see with their own eyes that these are not just beautiful words.
Together with the Moscow Soloists Chamber Ensemble, Vadin Repin, playing the magnificent instrument of 1733 - the Rode violin by Antonio Stradivari, performed in the first part of the concerto "Meditation" and "Waltz-Scherzo" by P.I. Tchaikovsky and "Gypsy" by M. Ravel.
And, of course, his performance caused a storm of applause in the hall!
Another piece has already been played for an encore.
In the second part "Moscow Soloists" performed Serenade for string orchestra by P.I. Tchaikovsky.
It is not the first year that Yulian Sitkovetsky's birthday has become a pretext for a musical tribute from the People's Artist of the USSR, maestro Yuri Bashmet, and his chamber ensemble, the Grammy award winner, Moscow Soloists.
Next year, 2020, the "violinist for all time" would have turned 95 years old. I am sure that this anniversary will be a bright event in the musical life of the capital!
God grant health to Yuri Abramovich!

Fabulous!

On November 3, the final concert of the Moscow part of the BRASS DAYS festival took place in the Great Hall of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. This festival has been running since 2011 and aims to increase interest in the art of wind instrumental art. The program of the festival was extremely interesting - I wanted to visit each of the concerts, but in life I often have to choose and I chose the concert on November 3 for a varied program and excellent performers. As a result, the program turned out to be even more interesting and varied than it was announced: the surprise was Igor Stravinsky's "Fireworks", with which the concert began. The Feyerverk fantasy for a large orchestra was brilliantly performed by the Svetlanov State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia, conducted by Vladislav Lavrik, whose brainchild is the BRASS DAYS festival. The very name of the symphonic poem "Fireworks" is associated with visual impressions and it really seemed like sparks rained down from the stage and set the hall on fire. The second was a piece that absolutely contrasts with the previous one: it was "Andante cantabile" by Tchaikovsky. This famous work is distinguished by the special melody of the language of the enchanting cello - the great performer Alexander Knyazev was the soloist. He was also the soloist in Camille Saint-Saëns' Concerto No. 1 for cello and orchestra. This work attracts with its amazing harmony of form, virtuosity that never crosses the border of the natural capabilities of the instrument, sensitive and at the same time bright orchestration, and most importantly, the bewitching melodic richness of romantic music. In the second part of the concert, Vladislav Lavrik changed the conductor's baton to a trumpet and performed solo in the Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra by the famous Armenian composer Alexander Harutyunyan. The music of the concert attracts with a light and cheerful mood, dynamic dance rhythm, gentle lyricism, bright national flavor and virtuosity. The culmination of the concert was "The Poem of Ecstasy" by Alexander Scriabin: in the expression of exceptional, extremely enthusiastic uplifted emotional experiences, this work has no equal. The plot of the poem depicts the development and formation of the Spirit: from the state of constraint - to the heights of self-affirmation. The principle of juxtaposition and interpenetration of contrasts - grandiose and refined, active-volitional and dreamy-languid - permeates the drama of The Poem of Ecstasy. Of course, after the performance of this brilliant piece, the audience did not let the performers go for a long time, expressing their delight with applause and exclamations of "Bravo".

Awesome concert!

Hello friends!
On September 15, I attended a concert of the Central Concert Exemplary Orchestra. ON. Rimsky-Korsakov of the Russian Navy, which was dedicated to the 175th anniversary of N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov. And it was great!
At the very beginning of the concert, the conductor of the orchestra Alexei Karabanov told us that we were lucky))) The fact is that the concert program included at once three compositions for solo instruments with a brass band, written by N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov specially for the combined orchestra of the Kronstadt port - and these works are rarely played all at once in one concert! Usually one or two, but not three! So that's it!
You know, I sincerely admire musicians who play wind instruments - this is how powerful their lungs are, so that they can blow into the trumpet for five or more minutes without interrupting for a breath! And the breaths of the musicians are very short! And it’s not just blowing, but it’s so amazing to play such complex pieces! Simply fantastic!
When the orchestra played the Spanish Capriccio (Op. 34), I imagined this: the Spanish coast of the Atlantic Ocean, a warm, quiet summer night, a fire and a beautiful girl dancing kachucha with castanets. Even the sound of the ocean could be heard!
Thanks to the Scheherazade Symphony Suite for Orchestra, we were transported to Cairo. Arabian tales, a thousand and one nights, Sinbad and his ship, genies and the mysterious east and the violin that lures you into this fairy tale. All this was at the concert!
You know, it was a good end to the week and just an amazing evening in the company of beautiful music and magical performance!
I thank the Central Concert Exemplary Orchestra. ON. Rimsky-Korsakov of the Russian Navy for such a magical evening!

Excellent program at the best concert venue in Moscow

The great Russian composer Nikolai Andreevich Rimsky-Korsakov was the first inspector of the naval bands of Russia and came from the noble family of the Rimsky-Korsakovs, known for their traditions of service in the navy.
In 1856, his father gave Nikolai, who dreamed of traveling, to the Naval Cadet Corps. Having moved to St. Petersburg, Rimsky-Korsakov met Cui, Mussorgsky and other composers who were part of the Balakirev circle, Balakirev himself actively helped young composers. It was from this moment that the life and fate of the composer was divided into two - the fleet and the music. He will write music on sea expeditions and try to find a way to "depict the sea element with the help of orchestral colors." In 1971 he will become a professor at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, and after that will leave his military career for good.

It is no coincidence that the name of Rimsky-Korsakov was given to the remarkable Orekstra of the Russian Navy in the year of his 150th anniversary. This wonderful orchestra consists of 36 musicians and is conducted by a conductor.
Captain 1st rank Karabanov Alexey Alekseevich. The orchestra often performs with compositions from Rimsky-Korsakov, but a concert that took place on September 15 in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory has become a rarity. All three concerts for a brass band, written by the composer for the combined orchestra of the Kronstadt port, as well as the famous works "Spanish Capriccio" and "Scheherazade" were performed there. I liked the concert very much!

Vocal evening

Anna MIRONOVA (soprano), Alexander LARIONOV (piano)

The program includes arias and romances by Russian and foreign composers

Ticket price 400 rubles.

When the singer Anna Mironova enters the stage, it immediately becomes light in my soul. Her lyrical voice, no matter what music she performs, penetrates the soul and makes listeners forget about everyday worries and bustle - so subtly the singer penetrates into the world of Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Glinka. She manages to convey the mood of each of these great composers. But the range of colors in her voice is wide, she is just as good at low notes, and these smooth and sometimes unexpected transitions from high notes to softer and lower ones especially fascinate listeners. Anna Mironova is subject to both Russian and European classical music (she sings in different European languages), not only classical romance or an aria, but also Gershwin and Lowe, and many musical masterpieces from different countries and genres. Anna performs music well-known to many in such a way that new facets, a kind of healing power, open up in it. Anyone who comes to Anna Mironova's concert will feel renewed and joyful and will certainly want to listen to her singing again!

The program includes works by Vivaldi, Orff, Bixio, Leoncovallo, Cui, Myaskovsky, Rodrigo, etc.

Ticket price 650 rubles.

And do not think that the program is permeated with a certain sarcasm over the March songs of cats. It's about something completely different: love vocal lyrics with elements of humor border on completely serious classical works. Along with "The Song of the Fried Swan" by Carl Orff ("Carmina Burana"), Antonio Vivaldi's "Piango gemo" sounds. Romances by Myaskovsky filled with a sense of love and seriousness with Joaquin Rodrigo's madrigal or Cui's romance "The Bunny". A vocal surprise from Oleg Bezinskikh awaits the audience. It was difficult to compose the program: a variety of timbre (use the range of countertenor, bass, baritone), stylistically, epoch-making and stay within the framework of a well-created program, when one can say that it is made “tastefully”. Music by Vivaldi, Orff, Bixio, Leoncovallo, Cui, Rodrigo and others will sound.
