Ingredients for the cucumber sauce:

  • pickled cucumber - 1 pc
  • onion - 1 piece
  • sour cream - 100 ml
  • vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • dill - 1-2 branches
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

How to make sour cream sauce with pickled cucumber

Rinse and dry the dill, chop it finely. In addition to dill, you can use fresh cilantro, green or purple basil, parsley, spinach - just about any greens you like. For a savory flavor, use mint, tarhué, rosemary, and other aromatic herbs.

Peel the turnip and cut into small pieces.

You can do with pickled cucumber in two ways: either grate it on a fine grater, or chop it very finely. The first method will work if the grater is sharp enough to chop a soft cucumber.

Heat refined oil in a skillet and transfer the chopped onion into it. Saute it over low heat until golden brown.

By the way, fried onions can be replaced with pickled ones. In this case, and then just grind it in a blender - yummy, you can't drag it by the ears! Any onion can be used for pickling - white, red.

Then transfer the grated pickled cucumber to the pan, if there is too much brine, drain it.

The most delicious sauce is made with pickled gherkins.

Stir the onion and cucumber, sauté for another 3 minutes, then pour in the sour cream. * If you use pickled onions, we do not fry them, respectively.

Stir, heat for 1-2 minutes and remove from heat.

Cool the pickled cucumber sauce, add the chopped dill and stir.

Pour the cucumber sauce into a gravy boat or bowl, serve with a main course or appetizer.
