For its preparation, the following ingredients are needed:

  • 200 ml of any meat broth;
  • 2 pieces of onions and carrots;
  • 30 ml of tomato paste;
  • 1 tsp grated ginger root;
  • 25 grams of wheat flour;
  • 75 grams of butter;
  • 5 grams of cumin;
  • a pinch of dried dill;
  • salt - to taste;
  • sugar - a teaspoon.

Steps for preparing the sauce for cabbage rolls:

  1. Grate the ginger root.
  2. The orange root crop is ground on a grater.
  3. The onion is finely chopped.
  4. Salt, sugar and cumin are ground in a mortar.
  5. Half the butter is melted in a thick-bottomed frying pan, in which cumin and ginger are fried. Enough 5 minutes.
  6. Add the prepared onions and carrots to the spices, fry for another 10 minutes. Stir constantly.
  7. Now spread the tomato paste, mix and cook for another 5 minutes.
