Alpen Gold doesn't smell like chocolate these days! Why don't I buy Alpen Gold anymore? You will be very surprised
Does not stain hands and clothes, once was good, you can buy cheap with a stock, do not cheat with weight
has risen in price recently, small nuts, poor quality, poor packaging, to taste - putty, medium
It gets spoiled. Almost all foods, unfortunately, get worse over time. And Alpen Gold is no exception. I remember this chocolate for quite a few years. Now I can’t name the year for sure, but in Ufa it appeared in stores in the first half of the 1990s. Most likely in 1993 or 1994. The tile weighed an honest 100 grams. The chocolate was also packed conscientiously - in foil, and then in a decent paper wrapper, as it should be for normal chocolate. It was many years later that the modern shapeless wrapping ugliness appeared, glued together at the seam.
I remember how my parents and grandmother, reading the composition on the packaging, were already shaking their heads at that time. Initially, there was not a lot of chocolate as such in this chocolate. But it still tasted good. Decent milk chocolate with very low cocoa content. The quality is at the level of a modern Dafa or Milka.
The green packaging is native to this chocolate. For a long time, it was sold only in this version. And there were only two flavors: just milk chocolate and milk chocolate with nuts. Well, and then all sorts of hazelnut-raisin varieties, yoghurt frills and other perversions like salted peanuts mixed with cookies, where chocolate does not even smell, have already gone.
For quite a long time, the quality of such chocolate remained acceptable to me, given the relatively low price of Alpen Gold. But now ... So I, in general, and I want to talk about what chocolate is now, which I really liked in my school years.
ABOUT QUALITY
Even the seemingly modern Alpen Gold tiles do not look so hot. In any case, the sight of such a tile definitely does not cause profuse salivation and the desire to eat it as soon as possible.
Nuts have recently begun to be put in less. And it is not surprising - nuts are getting more expensive. By the way, earlier the nuts in this chocolate were much larger. And now one little thing.
The color of the chocolate in the same package may vary. Either darker or lighter will be caught. I don’t know what it’s connected with. It is unlikely with more or less cocoa content, rather with more or less dye content.
It tastes like chocolate ... solid and high-quality putty. And even emoticons with calls to smile, which the manufacturer now sculpts on almost every slice of chocolate, do not improve the mood while absorbing this putty.
The weight of the chocolate is only 90 grams. Sadness ... Hidden consumer deception. After all, a tile is sold as a full-fledged one. Well, yes, not only Alpen Gold is sinning with this today. Almost all products are underweight like this. You buy milk - it's not a liter, but 900 grams. Or even 850. So on this point I will not find fault with chocolates. I'll find fault with the composition. What is Alpen Gold made of today?
Sugar, cocoa mass, cocoa butter, milk powder, whole milk powder, hazelnuts, milk fat, soy lecithin, E476, flavoring.
Well, sort of bearable. And how much chocolate is in it? We read on.
In milk chocolate mass, the content of the total dry cocoa residue is not less than 25%, the dry fat-free cocoa residue is not less than 2.5%.
That is, the chocolate itself, without fat, only 2.5%! Can such a product be called chocolate at all? Decide for yourself. But I have big doubts on this score.
CHECK FOR LICE
I decided to check the manufacturer for lice. It is written that the net weight (without packaging, that is) is 90 grams. I put a bar of chocolate on the scale. Shows 92 grams.
I weighed the package separately - 2 grams. Well, they weren't deceived. Tunic in tunic. No complaints.
ABOUT MY FLAVORS
Of all the variations of this Alpen Gold chocolate, I have always liked only nuts. Or as a last resort with nuts and raisins. And at the very, very last resort, just milk chocolate. And the fillings that have appeared recently, I generally do not take seriously. However, Alpen Gold itself, unfortunately, becomes more and more difficult to take seriously every year.
I can't remember how much Alpen Gold was worth in the 1990s. I only remember that in recent years its price has been kept in the range of 25-30 rubles for a long time. And I bought it from time to time. Not for its quality, but precisely for its democratic price. Cheaper times, well, okay, go to tea.
A year and a half ago, Alpen Gold suddenly went up in price. Now they sell it for 50-60 rubles. And it happens even more expensive! And the quality has dropped once again. And I already forgot when I bought it.
But not so long ago I suddenly saw these chocolates in Okey on sale. Only 37 rubles. I got carried away and bought 10 pieces at once. I don’t regret buying - not expensive. But, damn it, such bullshit! But there was once quite a decent chocolate. So I end the review with where I started - almost all products are getting worse. And Alpen Gold is one of the leaders in this deterioration. If I ever buy it again, it’s perhaps only at the same sale, coveted by the cheapness. And for the usual price ... Yes, not in life! I'd better add 10 rubles and take a very good chocolate bar. And I recommend you the same! And Alpen Gold does not deserve more than two points now. But with nostalgia for the days when he was quite a decent chocolate, so be it ... I'll give him a C.

Alpen Gold chocolate is appreciated by many of its lovers for its pleasant taste and relatively inexpensive price. Numerous and unusual tastes of the fillings of this chocolate leave few people indifferent. And many sweet tooths are so attached to this particular brand of chocolate that they cannot live a day without a wonderful delicacy in bright packaging.
The history of Alpen Gold chocolate began in 1992, when the brand was created by Stollwerck AG for the former socialist countries and sold to Kraft Foods. Initially, only two types of Alpen Gold tiles could be found on store shelves: chocolate with hazelnuts and raisins or with hazelnuts. By 1994, this brand appeared in Russia and immediately gained popularity due to its low price and good quality, as well as bright packaging that attracts the eye and a catchy name. The name "Alpen Gold" soon after the appearance in stores of this delicious chocolate became associated with its excellent quality, and it is not surprising: the name "Alpine Gold" for chocolate, the production of which is mainly located in Eastern Europe, and not in the Alps, became an excellent marketing ploy for buyers for whom "Alps" is a synonym for quality. With the development of the brand's popularity, more and more new tastes appear, conquering more and more sweet tooths.
At the moment, this brand includes twenty-two chocolates, although the history of Alpen Gold began with two types. Now everyone can find for themselves the taste that suits best. So, at the moment on store shelves are presented:
The Alpen Gold brand produces tiles in various formats. The standard, most consumer-friendly bars contain 90-100 grams of chocolate, but the Max Fun bars, due to the large amount of filling, are available in packs of 160 grams and are almost the largest produced by this name. Also in the store you can find tiles for sweet tooth with hazelnuts, with hazelnuts and raisins, or with whole hazelnuts in the size of 200 grams. For a light snack, there are also 45 gram bars of milk chocolate, chocolate with hazelnuts and muesli, or with hazelnuts and waffles.
In addition to the fillings, the chocolate of this brand contains cocoa liquor and cocoa butter, which makes the taste of this delicacy so real, chocolatey. But, of course, the production does not do without the addition of emulsifiers and flavorings. And due to the content of milk fat in the composition of chocolate, its caloric content ranges from 510 to 530 kcal per 100 grams. This means that too much of this treat can lead to weight gain. However, it is not at all worth it only for people with intolerance to its individual components.
In life, we always lack something: the weather is bad, the work is intense, there is too little time. But when it comes to chocolate, there are no dissatisfied people. No, really, show a person who voluntarily refuses a piece of chocolate.
Not so long ago (on a historical scale) the choice was not so great. But the modern assortment of shops can be just envied. And some manufacturers' chocolates may even occupy several counters. Among such “populists” is the Alpen Gold company.
This is a brand with not the most typical history. The brainchild of Stollwerck AG, Alpen Gold was conceived to conquer the countries of the former socialist camp. Currently, products are manufactured in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine. Poland also fell under the distribution.
1992 and 1994 are called the beginning of the history of this confectionery in Russia. Although the first plant producing "Alpine gold" was opened in Pokrov only in 1997.
In 2001, all rights to the brand were given to the Americans. The company Kraft Foods (now Mondelēz International), which also took over production facilities in Poland and Hungary, took the lead. On her initiative, in 2009, the world's first chocolate monument was erected in Pokrov.
Since the trade mark traces its history "from the Germans", the origin of the name becomes clear: "alpen" - alpine, "gold" - gold. A piece of this mountain range was originally depicted on each package right above the title.
The Russian chocolate, which changed its owner, has nothing “alpine”, except for its name. However, the subtle move of advertisers is transparent:
By the way, you won't find mountains on modern packaging. They were replaced by a rainbow. Gone are the mountains and the packaging of chocolate produced in Europe. The slogan has also changed several times: "The real gold of the Alps" was gradually transformed into "Optimism is in your hands!"
How much to weigh in grams?
The modern line of Alpen Gold chocolate is represented by a wide range of standard chocolate bars. Their only difference in weight is not the traditional 100, but the reduced 90 grams.
Compared to them, a relatively new type of milk chocolate "Alpen Gold Oreo" has slightly "grown", in which as much as 95 g.
The manufacturer also has real "giants" 200 g each: just with hazelnuts, hazelnuts and raisins and with whole nuts. For those who require a larger portion.
Not far from them fancy "Alpen Gold Max Fun" went by weight:
These tiles contain 160 g of joy. According to the manufacturer, there should be enough for everyone.
And the last option is a convenient 38 g bar. It is positioned as an excellent option for a snack. Indeed, this bar is really chocolate. It is convenient to take it to work, school, exam, etc.
It is definitely good that Alpen Gold chocolate pleases us with a large number of types. Everyone will find something to their liking: dairy, dark, with fillings and additives, big and small, classic and exotic. Plus, the assortment is replenished from time to time with new types.
General composition for all dairy species:
In the line of milk chocolate, the main positions are as follows:

Additional ingredients:
Since all chocolate is prepared within the same production facilities, all products, regardless of the basic composition, may contain the following allergens or their traces: gluten (wheat flour), various nuts (especially peanuts), various dairy products, egg products.
Subspecies of milk chocolate of the same composition, but with the addition of various fillings, can be distinguished into a separate group. There are several representatives in it:
The composition of yoghurt flavors necessarily contains dairy products: milk fat, whey, milk powder directly, and dry yogurt. An important component is fruit powder and flavorings, which give the filling the flavor.
The filling "Cappuccino" is obtained by adding the appropriate flavoring to dairy products.
The last two flavors are the newest, and the filling is more complex: Oreo cookie pieces are added to the milk base, which still consists of the same ingredients.
Oddly enough, the main composition of dark chocolate is not at all different from its milk counterpart. It may be a matter of the amount of ingredients, but they are as follows: most of all sugar; slightly less cocoa liquor and cocoa butter; in the next place - whole milk powder, milk whey (also dry) and milk fat; an emulsifier and flavoring agent round out the list.
There are few types of dark "alpine gold":
The yoghurt filling is no different from that of milk chocolate, but the raspberry layer is very similar in composition to ordinary jam. In addition to sugar and glucose syrup, it contains raspberry juice, chokeberry juice and pectin. And of course, the flavoring.
The second two-layer chocolate contains almond paste (not the nuts in chunks or whole) and cherry jam, repeating the raspberry jam in the previous description, replacing raspberries with cherries. True, alcohol is also added to it.
Since dark and white species consist of the same ingredients, their composition fully corresponds to the composition indicated on the milk / dark packaging.
The only one. The most delicious, according to the majority.
White chocolate, in fact, is not chocolate at all, assuming that it does not contain cocoa powder. It contains only sugar, cocoa butter, whey and dry milk, milk fat, lecithin and flavoring.
It's just that Alpen Gold does not produce white chocolate, they decided to supplement their only “blonde” with crushed fried almonds and coconut flakes. From what the taste has only benefited.
It should be said that the line of "Alpen Gold" flavors is gradually replenishing, so we will look forward to new products.
The most important thing for any "yummy" is its calorie content, because it is she who gives an idea of how much you can eat without harm.
Chocolate itself is a very high-calorie product, especially if it contains more sugar than everything else. Alpen Gold chocolate is no exception.
Milk - 522 kcal.
Dark - 517 kcal.
Almost all supplements put more strain on our waists:
cappuccino
+17 kcal
peanuts and cracker
+3 kcal
hazelnut
+10 kcal
yogurt / strawberry
+31 kcal
yogurt / blueberry
+31 kcal
The exception is dried fruits, in particular raisins. The calorie content of such tiles even drops below 500 kcal - 493 for hazelnuts with raisins and 502 for cookies and raisins. If these numbers matter to you, choose exactly these tastes.
These are the main positions of Alpen Gold chocolate. It is, of course, not elite, but the price-quality ratio is quite acceptable. Try different flavors and you will certainly find something for yourself. And if not, stay tuned. This means that your taste is yet to come.
