My treat today has its own background. One morning, as soon as I had time to wake up, my phone rang, the familiar voice of a close friend sounded in the receiver, who had returned from a weekend tour the night before, asking if I had time to have breakfast, she, right there, without waiting for my answer, told me without unnecessary words to come to her immediately. It's good that we live close to each other.
As soon as I stepped over the threshold of her house, I immediately realized that there would be not only the exchange of pleasant information, but also the preparation of a new delicious for tea. I was confronted with the fact that now we are preparing pita strudel. And that it will be very fast, practically without calories, and even very tasty! No objections were accepted!
I had never cooked this before, but I was swornly assured that it would be just incredibly delicious. Well, why not experiment, I decided, and got to work. I liked the result, so I am sharing this simple recipe with you.
Now for everyone who doesn't like messing around with dough, there is a great alternative - you can make a lazy pita strudel very quickly and without any fuss!
And for this we need to have the following ingredients on hand:
HOW TO COOK LAVASH STRUDEL
As I promised, the entire cooking process will be very fast, that is, as fast as you can quickly prepare all the ingredients.
And so let's start by cutting the slices of a white loaf into small cubes, it will help us remove the apple juice that stands out during baking. Pour the chopped loaf into a preheated pan with a piece of butter. Fry quickly over high heat, stirring all the time.
Rinse the raisins and pour boiling water for a minute. Then we will salt the water and spread the raisins on a paper towel to dry.
Remove the finished croutons from the pan and start with the fruit. Peel the banana and apple and quickly chop them into pieces of approximately the same size. Sprinkle with lemon juice right there.
Next, unfold the pita bread and generously grease its surface with soft butter. Now we will place the filling we have prepared on it: fried croutons, apple and banana pieces, raisins. Sprinkle lightly on top with granulated sugar (optional) and crush with cinnamon.
Leave the edges of the pita bread on both sides by about 5 cm free from the filling.
Now we begin to fold our pita strudel into a roll shape. Push the side edges inside. Our blank is almost ready, we transfer it to a baking sheet covered with parchment, and now it remains to make the final touch - take a piece of butter and grease the surface of the pita bread with it.
By this time, your oven should already be preheated to 200 degrees. We will bake the lazy pita strudel for about 15-20 minutes.
During this time, you will have time to brew aromatic tea.

Lavash strudel with apples is a healthy and tasty sweet that we will cook from thin Armenian lavash.
In general, I like to use thin pita bread for preparing various snacks, or potatoes and not sweet ones, herbs, cheese, and so on. Moreover, it is very easy to prepare something tasty from pita bread, and you can come up with options for such dishes endlessly. But today we have an apple strudel.
In general, this German dish can be prepared with any filling - fruit (with plums, pears, bananas), berries (very tasty with cherries or currants), as well as with curd filling. With the addition of raisins, cinnamon, poppy seeds, honey, nuts. You can wrap the filling in a whole large pita bread and bake it that way. Or you can do it as in this recipe - cut the pita bread into small squares, and cook small strudel.
Ingredients:
I took sweet apples - golden varieties.
Washed, cleaned, grated.
Peeled nuts:
She chopped walnut kernels with a knife.
I threw it to the apples. She mixed it up.
I cut the lavash into squares.
I laid out the filling on one side.
Then she wrapped the edges on the sides, and folded it into a roll.
I did this with the rest of the squares - I got 4 pieces. - that's exactly how much fits in my baking dish.
She smeared the form with a drop of vegetable oil, laid out the dessert.
Smeared on top with a small amount of sour cream.
I put it in the oven to bake for 20 minutes at a temperature of 180 degrees.
That's it, a quick and tasty pita strudel with apples is ready!

This is a really lazy recipe! No hassle with any dough or filling, and in just 15 minutes you get a crunchy strudel made from the finest pita bread with juicy apple filling. You don't even have to preheat the oven, the strudel is fried in a pan in oil. You can, of course, bake it in the oven and put various goodies in the filling, but this is if time permits. And when it's not there, use the easiest and fastest apple strudel recipe.
Apples for the filling need to be finely chopped, and the chopper will perfectly cope with this task. If it is not there, you still have to work a little or get a jar of apples prepared for pies from stocks.
Ingredients:
- lavash sheets - 2 pcs (large, rectangular);
- apples - 10-12 pcs;
- sugar - to taste;
- ground cinnamon - 0.5 tsp (to taste);
- butter - 50-70 gr;
- powdered sugar - for decoration.
How to cook from a photo step by step
If you have a food processor or shredder, skip the first step of the lazy apple pita strudel recipe. Of all the actions, you will only need to cut the apples into 4 pieces and remove the seeds. In the absence of kitchen assistants, we arm ourselves with a sharp knife and finely chop the apples. Do not peel off the skin.
When the most tedious work is done, heat up the frying pan and melt the butter in it. We transfer apples to butter, mix. We make the fire small so that the apples are stewed, and not burned. Cover with a lid for speedy cooking.
Add sugar to the softened apples to taste. We continue to simmer the apple strudel filling until tender. Everything will take no more than 10 minutes.
Cinnamon or nutmeg will help to set off the taste of apples and give the strudel filling a pleasant aroma. You need to add spices to the finished apples, when you have already removed them from the heat.
Finished apples will be soft, but retain their shape. Summer apples are softer and will most likely turn out to be almost puree, but this will in no way affect the appearance of the lazy strudel, or its taste.
Gently roll the apple strudel into a roll, pressing down slightly. We leave one edge free of the filling and moisten it with water (this is necessary so that the strudel does not unfold).
Cut the roll in half. Then cut each half into small pieces.
Put the strudel in a frying pan with heated oil, brown the bottom.
When the underside becomes golden, crispy, turn over the pita strudel and fry the other side.
Serve the apple strudel hot, warm or chilled. It is very, very tasty! Especially with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a cup of aromatic tea.

Today we are going to prepare a simple, quick and delicious baked pita strudel. The recipe will be with a photo. Probably, each of you at the word "strudel" immediately has the first thought about apples, although strudel is baked with a variety of fillings. And with curd strudel, and with meat, and with mushrooms.
The other day in one of the culinary magazines I saw a recipe for apple strudel in pita bread. The recipe was called lazy strudel. Quickly glancing over the recipe, I decided to cook it.

Then use a slotted spoon to remove the apple onto a flat dish and let it cool. And from the syrup that remained after boiling the apples, I made a wonderful apple compote.
While our apples for apple strudel in pita are cooling down, we will prepare an egg-milk mixture for lubricating pita bread. Take a deep bowl, drive in an egg or two. Add milk.
By the way, I still have a little egg-milk mixture after cooking, since I only took two at a time. But in the remaining mixture, I just added more eggs and made a delicate omelet, which my son loves very much. Beat eggs with milk a little with a hand whisk or mixer.
Rinse the raisins with water, pour boiling water over and leave for 10 minutes, then drain the water, rinse with cold water, put on a paper towel or napkin to dry.
Now we spread our pita bread on the table, grease it with a beaten egg-milk mixture, put apples on top, distribute them evenly over the entire surface of the pita bread.
We also spread evenly dried raisins on the apples, sprinkle everything with cinnamon on top. The amount of cinnamon depends on your preferences, love it very much - sprinkle it thicker, if only for a light smell, tweak it a little, as I did. I used one teaspoon.
Last but not least, cut the butter into small pieces and spread them over the surface of the pita bread.
Now we carefully begin to roll the pita bread into a roll. The oven should already be preheated to 180 C. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper or grease with oil. We put the apple strudel in pita bread on a baking sheet, my strudel fit only on the diagonal of the baking sheet, so it turned out to be so big).
Lubricate the top of the strudel in pita bread with an egg-milk mixture, send it to the oven for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, you will smell the pleasant smell of cinnamon and apples, this is a signal that it is time to take the strudel out of the oven.
We take the finished strudel out of the oven, let it cool slightly, then sprinkle with powdered sugar on top, cut into portions. We help ourselves with our beloved family! The preparation of the filling is slightly different in the classic strudel recipe, because we bake it longer. Therefore, we do not cook apples for the filling, but simply cut them into cubes and sprinkle them with lemon juice. Mix sugar with cinnamon. We wash the raisins, as in the first case, and fill them with boiling water for ten minutes.
Cover the table with cling film. Sprinkle it with flour. Roll out the strudel dough into a thin layer, brush with melted butter, sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Step back 7-10 cm from the edge, begin to lay out the filling in layers: apples, raisins, sugar with cinnamon, pieces of butter.
Gently roll the dough into a roll, remove the plastic wrap during rolling. Pinch the edges of the apple strudel, grease the roll with an egg-milk mixture. We bake in the oven at 180 C for 50 minutes.

A sweet treat made from thin dough with a soft fruit or berry filling, which is baked in the oven, is mistakenly called by many as a roll.
However, the term “roll” means a meat delicacy, but the favorite by the Austrians and Germans is called strudel; today we propose to bake it from lavash with apples in the oven. Traditionally, this delicacy is made from elastic stretched dough with yeast or water, but to save time, you can replace it with thin Armenian bread.
Translated from German, strudel means "whirlpool" or "funnel". Indeed, in the classic version, it is a sheet of dough filled with filling and rolled into a tight tube. But not every dessert that we mistakenly used to call a roll is a strudel.
