Pour about 2-3 tablespoons of vegetable oil into a suitable skillet. Send it to the fire. Warm up well. Add chopped onions and grated carrots to the hot oil. Reduce heat slightly less than medium and sauté vegetables, about 10-15 minutes, until tender.




While the vegetables are getting to the desired result, prepare the mackerel. Most often, in our stores, you can buy frozen fish. Use fresh mackerel if possible. Since in this case, the frozen product, in advance, remove from the freezer and leave to defrost in the refrigerator. When the fish is almost frozen, start peeling it. If the mackerel is completely thawed, it is more difficult to peel and then cut into portions. Using kitchen scissors, trim off all of the fins and tail. Remove the head with a sharp knife. Open up the tummy and remove all entrails. Rinse the carcass under running water. Pay attention to the black film. Be sure to remove it, as it will give bitterness in the finished dish.
