15.10.2019 Egg dishes

Halloween is a holiday that children and adults love. Take advantage of the excuse and arrange fun for your friends. Scary masks, decorations and costumes will come in handy this night. However, do not forget to prepare themed snacks that will terrify those around you. On Halloween, it is customary to treat with sweets, which have a very unattractive look. You can create dishes that look a lot like spiders, bats, human eyes, and fingers. Take a note for Halloween and prepare some that will scare and surprise your guests.

Spiders

The Black Widow and her offspring, sitting on the festive table, will undoubtedly amaze the imagination of the party participants. Boil a few eggs and cut them in half. Remove the yolks, mash them with a fork, mix with spices, mayonnaise, salt and fried onions. Divide the filling into egg halves and garnish with olives to make scary spiders out of them.

Witch's fingers

Sweet Halloween snacks can also have a rather intimidating appearance. We suggest you prepare a classic dish that will resemble the fingers of an evil witch. The cookies require the following ingredients:

  • 150 grams of butter.
  • 200 grams of sugar.
  • Vanillin to taste.
  • 350 grams of flour.
  • Salt and baking powder.

We mix all the products, knead the tough dough and remove it to "reach" in the refrigerator for half an hour. Then we roll out sausages from the dough, which will represent the fingers of the old witch. Take a kitchen knife and make nicks with it to represent phalanges and folds. For persuasiveness, brush the tips of your "fingers" with melted chocolate and place a "nail" on them, which will be almonds or peanuts. Place the cookies in the oven for 20 minutes, until they are browned.

Dracula's teeth

Don't forget to make apples and nuts for Halloween. They look pretty creepy, but they are very healthy and contain a lot of vitamins. So, we need to take several fruits of different colors, cut them into quarters and remove the seeds. After that, cut out the middle part so that the apple resembles an open mouth. We clean the nuts and insert them instead of teeth into the top and bottom rows. Instead of nuts, you can use any other treats, such as candied fruits or chewing gum. Sprinkle with cinnamon or vanilla to spice it up.

Vampire smile

We present you another option for a Halloween snack. The scary menu can be replenished with delicious cookies, which will also look like a ghoul's grin. To do this, we will need to take red frosting, almonds and marshmallows. Instead of frosting, you can use condensed milk mixed with food coloring. Cut the marshmallows into small pieces so that they resemble teeth. Grease half of the cookies with icing, put another one on top, and set the marshmallow in two rows in the middle. Place almonds in place of the fangs and serve.

Zombie eyes

All Halloween recipes are original, and this appetizer will be no exception. We need:

  • Four boiled eggs.
  • Mayonnaise.
  • Garlic.
  • Olives and ketchup.

Cut the eggs in half, take out the yolk and mix it with grated cheese, garlic and mayonnaise. Fill the resulting mixture with the protein, which will form the basis for the "eyes". Cut the olives into rings, and then spread them over the filling so that each one resembles a terrible pupil. Let's enhance the effect by decorating the center of the circle with a drop of tomato paste. To make the dish look especially scary, pour ketchup in the center of the plate and place two "zombie eyes" in the middle.

Delicious web

Prepare another Halloween snack and guests will surely appreciate your ingenuity and originality. Crispy web is made from regular pancake dough:

  • A glass of flour.
  • Three spoons of sugar.
  • One chicken egg.
  • Some milk.
  • Salt.
  • Vanillin.
  • Vegetable oil for frying.

Combine all the ingredients and pour the mixture into a clean ketchup jar. Heat oil in a skillet and lightly paint a spider web pattern. Turn the pancake over gently and serve, sprinkling with powdered sugar or grated chocolate.

Beverages

Cocktails prepared for a party should also match the mood. Particular attention should be paid to their design and presentation to the festive table. Punch is considered a traditional drink for Halloween:

  • Two liters of cranberry nectar or juice.
  • One lemon and two limes.
  • One liter of clean water.
  • Jelly worms and spiders for decoration.

Combine the liquids in one large bowl, squeeze citrus juice there and stir. Decorate the edges of the crockery with marmalade and place a ladle next to it for convenience. Children will be delighted with this treat, and adults this evening may well add a little alcohol to their glass.

We hope our Halloween recipes come in handy for the theme party and make the holiday night fun and memorable.

13 scary holiday recipes

Halloween is one of the most ancient holidays. According to the beliefs of the Celts, who then inhabited the territory of modern Ireland, the year consisted of two times: summer and winter. The end of the harvest meant the end of summer and was celebrated on October 31st. On the night of November 1, the new year began, and winter came into its possession.

According to ancient legends, on this night, the border between two worlds was opened: the world of the living and the world of the dead. To scare away evil spirits, pagans kindled bonfires on the street, dressed animal skins and decorated their heads with animal heads. This is where the tradition of dressing up in scary costumes began.

30.10.2016

Halloween is celebrated on the night of October 31st to November 1st. And although he has obviously mystical roots, today everything is much simpler. This is a holiday of mischief, buffoonery and ... childhood. After all, never again do people eat so many sweets and make so many incredibly beautiful and very sweet desserts, do not extort sweets from neighbors and don creepy costumes to drive away death. Sweets are the guides to childhood. Try carving pumpkins and cook something traditional - it's delicious! And if you have never tried it before, it is also informative.

A bit of history

When the British began to populate America in the 1600s, they brought the traditions of Halloween with them. Less popular than it is now, Halloween traditions grew in the New World, but were not popular until the early 20th century, when the modern version of the holiday emerged.

Culinary traditions have survived to this day. And their main component is sweets. Candy, sweet corn, pumpkins, apples are what Americans eat on Halloween. Of course, they are complemented by modern dishes like witch's finger cookies, cupcakes with cute bats and millions of versions of bloody drinks. But we'll only focus on the traditional table.

Sweet bread Barmbrek

Barmbrek - butter barley bread with raisins and dried apricots. It is the centerpiece of the Irish version of Halloween. It is also called "The Bread of All Saints" and is used for the game of divination. A stick, a silver coin, a ring, a piece of cloth are put into one or several loaves. Each thing symbolizes something - from misery and poverty to wealth and marriage (marriage) next year.

Caramel apples

One of the most popular desserts has two types: soft caramel and sugar hard caramel. Try both at once!

Use Fuji and Granny Smith: hard, crunchy and sour. They go well with sweet caramel and hold their shape at high temperatures.

Candy apples appeared more than a hundred years ago by pure chance. One American pastry chef, William Kolb, was looking for ways to sell more cinnamon red caramel in 1908. And he figured out that you can dip apples in it, and then sell them on a stick. It's bright, beautiful and very fabulous. Within a couple of years, apples in a red glossy crust became the number one autumn sweetness, especially on Halloween.

How to cook such caramel apples can be found in the Mozart Cake recipe. Pierre Herme. Add a little red or black food coloring to the caramel and your apples become a "grossly pretty" Halloween table decoration.

Apples in soft caramel (Caramel/ Toffy apples). Wrapped in what we used to call "toffee", they appeared much later. In the 1950s, they were invented by Kraft Foods employee Dan Walker. Like the candy version, this one came up with experiments with candy for Halloween sales. He just melted soft caramel and dipped apples in it - that's the whole story.

Bonfire toffee (hardened caramel)

Such caramel is prepared on the basis of molasses - dark syrup. It is a hard, bitter caramel, strongly associated with Halloween and bonfire nights in the UK. It is more likely to be referred to as lollipops than soft gummies.

Soul cake small round biscuits very popular in Britain. It is baked on Halloween to give to children and the poor in exchange for a promise to pray for the dead. Today, this tradition is not as common as “sweets in exchange for desire,” but it is well known in Portugal and northeastern England.

Cookies are usually made from shortcrust pastry, add cinnamon, ginger, raisins. Before baking, a cross is drawn on the cookies. It is traditionally served with a glass of wine.

Ominous Halloween Party Recipes

The mysterious Halloween holiday has been gradually entering the culture of various countries for several years, including the culture of our country. It has not yet reached a large scale, but undoubtedly it has earned popularity among many people due to its originality and cheerful traditions. Already in our country, it has become popular to dress up in costumes on the night of October 31 to November 1 and arrange festivities.
We haven't gone over all the traditions yet, but quite a few people have started throwing Halloween parties from year to year. A special place in the celebration of Halloween is occupied by a festive table. This is not a required attribute, but many families invite guests to their place and set an ominous table. There are no specific festive dishes not Halloween, so you can show your imagination and cook anything, but decorate it in the style of the holiday. The main thing is worse! We offer you some ideas for decorating a festive table for Halloween.

1. Pizza with ghosts and mummies.

Pizza can be a great Halloween meal. It is easy to prepare and decorate. Alternatively, you can make a pizza with salami and tomatoes, and make ghosts from mozzarella or other cheese. To do this, take a dough or pizza blank, spread with tomato paste, ketchup or pre-peeled and finely chopped tomatoes. Then finely chop the salami and spread over the dough. Next comes the fun part. You need to cut the ghost-shaped pieces out of the cheese and put them on the pizza. Then send this miracle to the oven for 20-30 minutes, and that's it, your sinister pizza is ready! Top can be decorated with spider olives, making the legs from parsley or dill stalks.

If you have dough left over, you can make mini mummy pizzas.

Another great Halloween dish is bell pepper pasta. It is also very easy and quick to make, and it looks very impressive. For cooking, you just need to boil the spaghetti (whoever wants, you can make pasta like navy), cut off the top of the pepper and cut out the eyes and mouth, fill the pepper with the pasta and close the lid.

If you are organizing an active party, serving hot dishes is not very convenient, it is easier to get by with various snacks. Bananas can be used to make ghosts with chocolate eyes and mouths, and tangerines can be used to make small pumpkins. A pumpkin can also be crafted with a variety of small carrots, cucumber, and sauce bowls.

If you peel a watermelon and equip a little with a knife, you can get the following brains:

Well, as drinks for Halloween, mulled wine, punch, wine and bloody Mary are perfect. Although there is already an amateur.

4. Jelly worms

This Halloween dish looks really creepy. To prepare these worms, you will need a couple of instant jelly bags, thick straws, water, and a glass. Prepare the jelly as directed on the package and let cool slightly. Cut the tubes in half if they are very long and put them in a glass. They should fit snugly together. If there are not many of them, you can tie them with an elastic band. Next, pour the jelly into tubes and send this delight to the refrigerator. It is advisable that they stay there for at least 8 hours. To make it easier to stick out our worms, hold the tubes under hot water.

5. Caramel apples

At the time of the celebration of Halloween, the harvest season of apples just comes, so various dishes from these fruits are frequent guests at festive tables. This Halloween food is usually enjoyed by both adults and children, and the recipe for this dish is quite simple. To prepare 10 servings, you will need:
- Apples, actually. It is better to take hard ones with sourness. Golden or Coke varieties are perfect. But the choice is yours.
- Wooden skewers.
- Sugar 1.5 cups.
- Honey 1 tbsp.
- Butter 3-4 tbsp. l.
- Water 150-200 ml.
- Apple cider vinegar 2 tablespoons
- Any nuts 1.5 cups.
For cooking, wash the apples thoroughly and tear off the stalks. Insert wooden skewers in their place. Heat oil in a saucepan, add water, honey, vinegar and sugar. Cook over medium heat until caramelized (10 minutes on average). Then dip the apples in the resulting caramel and garnish with nuts. Let it dry, and that's it, the treat is ready. Instead of nuts, you can use something else, such as shredded chocolate or coconut.

Halloween is a holiday when it's time to get creative and experiment. And in particular, this applies to dishes for Halloween. Experiment with food, dishes and serving, come up with something new and fun. It is not necessary to come up with some intricate recipes, as you can see, all the proposed dishes are prepared easily, but they look very festive and atmospheric.
