  4. For the first cream (for spreading the cakes), beat the mascarpone with condensed milk. Collect the cake, spreading the cakes with cream and apple jam (alternating). The cake should be in the shape of a cylinder with a slightly sloping top (owl head).

  6. For the second cream (to coat the cake and decorate): in a saucepan with a thick bottom, mix eggs and fine Mistral cane sugar, put on medium heat and stir without stopping until it thickens. Set aside from the stove and cool completely. In a separate container, beat softened butter (room temperature) with powdered sugar with a mixer. Mix the egg and butter masses until smooth. 9. Knead the sugar mastic and roll it on a surface covered with powdered sugar into a thin layer. Cut circles out of white - eyes. Paint some of the mastic yellow with food coloring and mold the beak and legs out of it. Paint the part brown and sculpt two wings. Decorate the cake with blanks and refrigerate for 2-3 hours.

Before starting to make a cake, I was looking in the net for all possible ideas, both cakes and figurines .. I reviewed a lot of owls)
And I stopped my choice on this suvushka, I liked her

After deciding on the choice of the type of our owl, I started baking the cakes. Shortbread cake with different fillings from Tanya Brusnika.
So, let's get to work .. Well-cooled cakes, before smearing them with cream, I thoroughly soaked in syrup on cognac, so that the cake would become soft as soon as possible. And sent it to the refrigerator for impregnation.

From the remnants of cakes and cream (butter-sour cream with different fillings (I have dried apricots with nuts)) I made a dough "potato" - a mass for leveling the cake. Then she again sent the cake to the refrigerator for soaking for a couple of hours. After the cake was well soaked, we align the shape of the cake well, I tried to make the shape symmetrical (it's easier for me), and made the owl's face flatter! And I smeared well with cream (butter + white chocolate) and again sent my Owl to the refrigerator. (I want to draw your attention to the fact that the butter would solidify well - I was not very lucky and the butter did not solidify in any way and the mastic simply slipped off the cake)

While the cake is being cooled in the fridge, I gradually began to make feathers for the owl .. The color I chose is white (chest, muzzle and a little wings), white-gray (part of the back, neck and wings) and gray (back and under the wings)
I made the relief of the feathers using homemade mold, and the shape of the feather is part of the shape of the mushroom.

Taking the Owl out of the refrigerator, I had to remove the not frozen layer of oil (((and start decorating the owl - putting on the feathers. The bottom layer of feathers glued tightly to one another so that there would be no gaps and the cream would not be visible.

During breaks in cooling, the owl made the wings and face of an owl ..
First of all, I cut out 2 wings of the right size and shape for our owl .. having greased the top of the stole with glue (mastic with water) glued the leaves .. and this is how 1 finished wing looks like ..

The owl's muzzle was done in several stages. 1. made the eyes, 2. the main shape of the muzzle, 3. pouches of feathers under the eyes. 4. beak and eyebrows .. I did everything on an oilcloth, as the mastic stuck to other surfaces. Before sticking the muzzle, I let it dry a little.

We cover the back, brisket with feathers, and under the wings of our owl .. alternating different colors of feathers.
After all this, we proceed to gluing our wings! Pre-prepare small coasters (ordinary cellophane bags suited me very well) for the wings so that they would not slide down under the weight .. After I glued the wings I tried further as quickly as possible to glue the rest of the feathers on the owl's neck and head so that the wings were glued to the bulk of the feathers as tightly as possible

Then I tried on the muzzle in order to check if there were any gaps between them, after which we glue the muzzle and make the paws of our owl and our owl is Ready !!!

In addition, I will add - do not forget to add white highlights in the eyes to make the owl more lively ..

Owl cake: decorate with cream and mastic

Something I thought that you can decorate the cake for September 1 in a special way, for example, make it in the shape of an owl. Firstly, the owl is the personification of wisdom and knowledge, and secondly, owls are now extremely popular, as they say, in a trend. In this article, I have put together a master class for you on how to make a cake in the shape of an owl from mastic and cream.

Owl cake

Cream owl cake

Not all housewives work with mastic, but cream decorations can be made by everyone who at least a couple of times baked a cake for the holiday on their own. And the color of the owl allows you to make a cream, without adding food dyes.

And so, the first cake. The scheme for laying out the cakes in the first picture, then everything is simple: grease with chocolate cream where the head and wings should be, as well as a twig, coat the tummy with ordinary butter cream, it will have a slightly yellowish tint. Still, a little mastic is used here to create the eyes, beak and legs of the owl. You can be smart and use, for example, round biscuits, straws, and other sweets. An owl's tuft can be decorated with sugar flowers, which are sold ready-made in the pastry departments of any supermarket.

Here's how to decorate a creamy cake with white and dark chocolate drops.

And here is the whole creamy owl cake, next to it is a diagram of how to cut and lay out the cakes.

And here is just an example of how to make cupcakes in the form of owls from cream, the eyes and beak are made of sweets.

In principle, it is also not difficult to make a cake decoration from mastic. In most cases, the cake needs to be covered with a sheet of mastic of the main color, then circles are made that will serve as plumage for our bird. Well, actually below are a few photos of master classes.

But the cake is more complicated ...

Owl cupcake

I also liked the idea of a cupcake or bread for children in the shape of an owl. Here the whole point is to properly lay the multi-colored pieces of dough. You can color the dough with natural dyes: carrot and beetroot juice.

You don't need much to please your kids with a tasty and funny cake, the main thing is to approach this issue with imagination.

For the preparation of the cake, "Owl" used ready-made honey cakes, which significantly saved cooking time.

Ingredients.

First you need to soak all the cakes with syrup, I have quince syrup. Any syrup can be used for impregnation.

Set the cakes aside and prepare the custard.

Pour part of the milk into the stewpan, add sugar and vanilla sugar, cook until the sugar dissolves.

Break one egg into the rest of the milk, add flour and beat well.

Pour the milk-egg mixture into the hot milk in a thin stream, stirring constantly with a whisk. Cook over low heat until thickened. Let the cream cool completely.

To decorate, we need a couple of oreo cookies - these will be the eyes of an owl, we will make feathers from apple slices.

Wash the apples, cut them in two, remove the seeds, then cut them into thin slices.

Preheat a frying pan with sugar and cinnamon, caramelize the apple slices. The apples should be soft and golden brown.

Transfer the apples to a plate and let cool.

We collect the cake. We coat the cakes with the already cooled custard, try to distribute the cream evenly.

Then close the cream with a cake, coat with cream. And so, until the cakes run out. Leave the last cake without cream.

Cover the last cake with melted milk chocolate.

Divide the oreo cookies into two parts, take the side with the white cream, put them in place of the eyes.

We carefully shift the cake onto a tray, let it brew for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.

Here is such a funny cake "Owl" I got.
