We will need:

1 liter of milk, I bought 2.5% fat in the store

1 jar of "Activia" without additives (by the way, with such sourdough, yogurt is even tastier than with flavors and fillers).

How to cook:

we pour all the milk into the multicooker pan, turn on the Baking mode, stand by ourselves, so as not to miss the moment when the milk warms up to 40 degrees. I cooked in the Panasonic 10 multicooker, I didn’t close the lid, so the milk was heated to the desired temperature in 5 minutes. I checked the temperature with a thermometer, this is important, because the quality of the finished yogurt depends on the milk temperature:

As soon as the milk reached 40 degrees, she pulled the saucepan out of the slow cooker so that it would not overheat. Turned off mode "Baking".

She poured some milk into a mug and mixed it with “Activia”:

This mass was poured into milk and mixed thoroughly.

turn on the mode "heating" for 15 minutes.

Turned off the "heating", 1 hour rested.

Again “Heated” 15 minutes.

Left for 6 hours. I put it in the night, early in the morning I put the pan in the fridge, and when I got it, the yogurt was:

Ingredients for 4 portion Redmond glasses (180 ml x 4):

  • milk selected fat content 3-4% - 500 ml
  • cream fat content 10% - 200 ml
  • actimel - 1 bottle = 100 ml
  • white granulated sugar - 2-3 tablespoons
  • vanillin / vanilla sugar - pinch optional.

Homemade yogurt in the Redmond multicooker - a recipe.

Pour milk, cream and actimel into a perfectly clean saucepan, add sugar and vanilla sugar. Stir and put on the fire for 2-3 minutes to dissolve the sugar. The liquid should be slightly warm.

Pour the mixture into clean yogurt jars and close the lids. I use special jars for making yogurt with a volume of 180 ml each.

Redmond glass jars have a thick bottom and walls, the lids of safe plastic tightly twisted. But to make homemade yogurt, you can use any glass jars with lids, including baby food or jam. The main thing - they must be perfectly clean and accommodate your portion of yogurt at one time.

Put a silicone mat on the bottom of the multicooker bowl so as not to damage the ceramic coating during the long cooking process. I have a round silicone mat, but instead you can simply put a cotton napkin.

Neatly place the jars with the contents in the bowl so that they do not touch each other and the walls of the multicooker bowl.

Each jar with future yogurt should be covered + covered with a lid. The level of the milk mixture should not reach about 0.7-1 cm to the edge of the glass. Now you can add clean / cold tap water in the volume of 500-600 ml to the bowl. It is believed that water is a good conductor of heat and thus provides excellent conditions for making yogurt at home.

Close the multicooker lid, connect the multicooker to the network. From the Menu, install the program "Yogurt" and press the Start button. My Redmond RMC-M90 Multicooker has a Yogurt mode / program, the default time is 8 hours. Now you can safely entrust the preparation of delicacies to your multicooker, in which a constant temperature will be maintained at about 38-40 ° C for eight hours. I do not recommend in the process to open the lid and check how yogurt is prepared there.

When the signal about the end of the program sounds, you should turn off the slow cooker, open the lid, remove the bowl and carefully remove the jars with the finished yogurt. Do not open the jars (if only to admire / check one of them for readiness), dry with a towel from the water that was poured into the bowl, and immediately send to the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours.

After a couple of hours, the home will acquire the final consistency, thicken and look something like this.

I must immediately warn you that if you once cook homemade yogurt, then you will no longer want to buy the store. Yes, these are two big differences! Dairy delicacy cooked in a slow cooker, under your direct supervision, has a delicate texture, has a perfectly balanced composition and is really very tasty. And if you used natural farm or own products - it is difficult to describe the utility and assess the quality. Some housewives add sugar or honey to the mixture before laying in the slow cooker. My experience suggests that it is desirable to add sweetness after cooking and immediately before tasting yogurt. I offer a step by step recipe for homemade yogurt with photos.

Ingredients for 4 cans of homemade yogurt 180 ml:

  • milk fat content of 2-4% - 500 ml
  • cream fat content 10-20% - 200 ml
  • actimel starter - 1pc = 97/100 ml.



Fillers for yogurt:

  • chocolate + cocoa + berries / fruit
  • avocado + pepper + salt + drop of oil + drop of lemon juice.

How to cook homemade yogurt in a slow cooker:

1) Pour the milk into the pan, put on the stove and heat to about 40C. Photo 2.

2) In milk, pour actimel and cream, mix thoroughly until smooth. Milk should be heated so that the heavy cream and the starter dissolve well. Photo 3.

3) Pour the prepared mixture into glass cups / jars with lids almost to the very edge. I used branded thick glass cups with Redmond lids, designed specifically for making yogurt. You can also use any glass containers, for example, from baby food.
Important: jars and lids must be completely clean and dry! Photo 4.

5) Put a silicone mat or cotton napkin on the bottom of the multicooker bowl (so that the jars do not slide), then place the containers with the mixture so that they do not come into contact with the walls of the bowl and with each other. Cover each jar with a lid. Pour a little slightly warm water (not higher than 30 ° C) into the bowl of the multicooker to about half the height of the yoghurt containers. Photo 5.

6) Install the bowl into the slow cooker, close the lid and start the program / Yogurt mode. In my Redmond M-90 multicooker, the default time is 8 hours. See instructions for your multicooker.
Important: do not open the multicooker lid while cooking yoghurt, do not tilt the multicooker or move it from place to place.

7) After signaling the end of the program, open the lid of the multicooker, carefully remove the glasses with yogurt. It is advisable not to open to avoid the formation of excess moisture / condensate. After 10 minutes, send containers with yogurt into the refrigerator for about 6-10 hours - best for the whole night. In the morning, homemade yogurt will acquire a creamy color, the necessary thickness and great taste. Photo 6,7.


8) Redmond jars with lids are also good because you can easily set a date for making yogurt on the lid with a slight twist. By the way, homemade yogurt is stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. But if you have tried a dairy product with a spoon, you should eat the entire batch in this container / jar. Photo 8.
