Set aside the third part of the prepared mixture.

Mix the remaining two-thirds of the mixture with boiled beets grated on a grater. We mix everything. Add chopped dill to the remaining part of the oil mixture, mix.

We cut the baguette lengthwise, but not completely. Lift the cut part and remove the pulp from it and from the lower part. The remaining walls should be about 1 cm thick.

Apply the mixture with beets to the entire inner surface of the baguette, spreading it in an equal layer. Then we spread only on the lower part in the center of the oil mass with dill in the form of a slide. We put pickled gherkins on a roller of oil filling. If we use normal-sized cucumbers, then we cut the cucumber into 6-8 pieces lengthwise, and we will lay out these stripes. On top of the cucumbers, lay out the herring fillet, cut into narrow long strips.

Lubricate the cut line with butter, connect the edges and wrap the baguette tightly in cling film. The top can be additionally tied with twine. We put the prepared loaf in the refrigerator for at least three hours.

Herring loaf

The recipe for a quick and easy snack is a loaf stuffed with herring, carrots and eggs.

  • 1 loaf;
  • 200 gr. butter;
  • 1 herring fillet;
  • 1 boiled carrot;
  • 2 boiled eggs;
  • 30 gr. green onions;
  • 30 gr. dill;
  • salt and black pepper to taste.
