Ingredients:

  • 100 g of cheese;

  • some parsley;
  • 70 g tomato paste;
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic;
  • some vegetable oil for frying and greasing the mold;
  • some green onions for decoration;
  • salt, black pepper to taste.

Minced Potato Casserole Recipe

1. Peel the potatoes, rinse them under cold running water. Cut into large cubes so that it cooks faster.

2. Put in a saucepan, fill with cold water and boil until tender (potatoes should be easily pierced with a fork). We do not drain the broth, leave 1 glass of liquid for making mashed potatoes. Add 1-2 pinches of salt.

3. Crush the potatoes with a crush or mash casually with a blender. The puree should not be very smooth, it is much better if there are pieces of potatoes in it. In this recipe, I only used boiled potatoes with water to make the puree. If desired, you can add 1 raw egg with butter, 0.5 cups of milk or 1 cup of sour cream instead of broth. Pour liquid ingredients into hot potatoes, only removed from heat and without water. And the main thing is not to overdo it with additional liquids, the puree should turn out to be thick and dense.

4. Let's start preparing the meat filling for the casserole. Peel the carrots, rinse under running water, rub on a coarse grater.

5. Pour a few tablespoons of vegetable oil into a large frying pan (there will be a lot of filling). We put on medium heat. Put the carrots in the heated oil.

6. Peel the onion, rinse and chop finely.

7. Transfer to the pan to the carrots, mix. Fry vegetables until the onion is transparent, that is, until half cooked.

8. Put the minced meat in the pan.

9. Thoroughly knead it with a spatula, thereby getting rid of large lumps. And mix with frying. Fry over medium heat. Stir periodically so that the minced meat is evenly fried and does not burn.

12. Simmer over low heat until most of the liquid has evaporated (about 10-15 minutes). The minced meat should remain with a little tomato sauce.

13. Grease a baking dish with a small amount of vegetable oil. We spread half of the mashed potatoes.

14. Carefully spread with a spoon.

15. Top with minced meat with onions and carrots.

16. Add the second part of the mashed potatoes.

17. Smooth with a spoon.

18. Rub the cheese on a fine grater.

19. Rinse the parsley and chop finely. Peel the garlic and pass it through a garlic press.

3. Put the minced meat in a frying pan. Whichever you prefer. Our most popular option is mixed minced pork and chicken. Very good with pork and veal.
