Rice with Corn and Green Peas

Rice with corn and peas is cooked in almost the same way. However, we will add red pepper and carrots to the dish. It will turn out a very useful and mouth-watering side dish. We need to take such products:

  • rice - 1.5 cups;
  • water - 3 glasses;
  • canned corn - half a can;
  • canned peas - half a can;
  • red bell pepper - 1 piece;
  • carrot - 1 small;
  • onion - one small onion;
  • salt and spices to taste.

Time spent - 35 minutes. The calorie content of the dish is 335 kcal per 100 grams.

So, in a pan we heat vegetable oil. Cut the onion and carrot into small cubes. Fry until light golden hue. We put some favorite spices and salt so that the onion is not tasteless.

  • rice - ½ cup;
  • chicken eggs - 4 pcs.;
  • 1 fresh cucumber - not small;
  • mayonnaise - as it goes (at least 200 gram cans);
  • chives - 1 small bunch or medium red onion;
  • a couple of parsley leaves - for the design of the dish;

How to do:

  1. In salted water (200 mg), boil the rice until tender.
  2. Boiled eggs - 3 pcs., Crab sticks and peeled cucumber to chop thin circles.
  3. If chives are used, chop finely, if red, use thin half rings.
  4. Form the salad in layers, using a split mold for the cake. Soak each layer with mayonnaise:
      rice
      bow;
      eggs
      crab sticks;
      dried corn.
  5. The very last layer is the 4th egg, grated. Garnish with parsley leaves.

For everyday use, in order to save time, all the ingredients of crab salad with rice and corn can be finely chopped and mixed with mayonnaise. The main thing - in any version of the salad, let it soak for at least 2-3 hours. You can slightly change the recipe and prepare a dish not with rice, but with peas and corn.

Bake with chicken in the oven

The next recipe involving the main components is a more satisfying option, a side dish to the bird.

The composition of the dish:

  • chicken - 1 carcass of medium size;
  • boiled rice - half a glass;
  • curry, turmeric, garlic, salt - to taste;
  • mayonnaise - 5 tbsp. l .;
  • canned corn - half a cup;

Cooking:

  1. Mix salt, crushed garlic, half 2/3 of mayonnaise, curry and grate chicken - inside and out. Leave in the refrigerator for a couple of hours, placing in a plastic bag or film, soak.
  2. Rice boiled with turmeric, corn and the remaining 1/3 of mayonnaise - mix and stuff this chicken with this mixture.

Lazy legs with rice and corn

Another version of rice with corn and chicken in the oven, prepared in combination with chicken drumsticks. Chicken legs are called “lazy” because this recipe is designed for minimal effort and time. Of course, this is suitable for busy people.

For 6 servings you will need:

  • chicken drumsticks - 2 pcs. / portion;
  • standard average can of canned corn - 1 pc.;
  • onion - 1 pc. (better big);
  • medium carrot - 1 pc.;
  • steamed (this is important) rice - one and a half glasses;
  • water 3.5 tbsp .;
  • mayonnaise - 2 tbsp. l .;
  • adjika - 1 tsp;
  • salt - 1 tsp;
  • spices are your favorite;
  • vegetable oil - in fact.

Cooking begins in the evening, on the eve of the day of use.

  1. Mayonnaise, spices, adjika and salt - mix.
  2. Wash, dry, and shake drumsticks with a mixture of mayonnaise and spices. Leave in a plastic bag overnight in the refrigerator.
  3. In the morning - chop the onion, grate the carrots and fry in vegetable oil. Not yet ready, add rice and dried corn. Mix everything thoroughly and let it soak for 3 minutes.
  4. Add water, mix again and slightly warm.
  5. Transfer rice with vegetables into a greased form with vegetable oil.
  6. From above it’s beautiful to arrange the pickled drumsticks, cover the form with foil (required) and send it all to the oven (200 degrees).
  7. When the rice absorbs all the water - done! Remove the foil and leave it for 3-5 minutes so that the legs are browned.

The dish turns juicy, delicate and delicious!

With the addition of tomatoes

There is also a large number of vegetarian dishes from rice and corn, which can be consumed on their own, or you can also garnish. One of them is a spicy recipe with the addition of tomatoes.

You will need:

  • rice - 1 tbsp .;
  • onion - 2 pcs. medium size;
  • canned corn - 1 can;
  • tomatoes - 2 pcs. large (approximately 0.5 kg);
  • cheese - 150 g (parmesan or other hard varieties);
  • a bunch of greenery - to your taste;
  • salt and pepper - as they used to;
  • butter - 2 tbsp. l .;
  1. Boil rice in salted water without boiling.
  2. Cut tomatoes into half rings.
  3. Chop the onion finely.
  4. Separate the corn from the water.
  5. Cut greens as finely as possible.
  6. Cheese grate.
  7. Put boiled rice on warmed butter and lightly warm.
  8. Add vegetables, mix and warm over low heat, under a lid, for another 5-8 minutes - see if ready.
  9. Turn off the burner and sprinkle the dish with half the grated cheese. Mix. Close the lid again and wait 5 minutes.

Arrange on plates, add the remaining grated cheese and greens on top - in portions.
  For sharpness, garlic can be added to greens.
Fresh and frozen corn is healthier than canned.   However, this cereal is also good in canned food. But with conservation, a certain amount of nutrients decreases.

Unusual first course recipe

The possibilities of combining rice and corn in cooking open up a good scope for imagination! In addition to salads, side dishes and vegetarian recipes, these cereals give an excellent taste to hot dishes.

  • chicken breast - 2 pcs. (for 1.5 l of broth);
  • onion - 1 pc. (average);
  • sweet pepper (green) - 1 pc.;
  • long-grain rice - 250 g;
  • corn - 200 g (canned or frozen);
  • tomato paste - 2 tbsp. l .;
  • olive oil - 1 tsp;
  • parsley or cilantro - 1 small bunch (cilantro is more appropriate in the context of this recipe);
  • sour cream, salt and pepper - to taste;
  1. Pepper, onion and finely chop into cubes.
  2. Fry the onion in olive oil until golden brown, add pepper and fry for a couple of minutes.
  3. Season vegetables with tomato paste and black pepper. Put out 3 minutes.
  4. Put rice in a boiling broth, reduce the burner and boil for 6-8 minutes;
  5. Add corn and pepper and onion to the rice. Wait for the boil, and reduce the heat to a minimum.
  6. Finely chop the chicken breast meat and put it in the soup too. Cook for another 3 minutes.
  7. The soup is ready. Pour into plates. Add sour cream and parsley.

This is a recipe for national Mexican cuisine. The soup is thick, spicy and very tasty. And you should call it “rice-tortilla”!

If desired, the mixture of vegetables can be changed and green peas, carrots, sweet peppers, etc. can be added to the corn. The dish is sweet and very tender.
