Carbonated water is a popular non-alcoholic soft drink. It is drinking or natural mineral water enriched with carbon dioxide.

Therapeutic mineral water is enriched with carbon dioxide with a mineralization of more than ten grams per liter. The composition of such water practically does not change during storage, and all its useful components are preserved for a long time. gas, losing its properties.

Every American consumes about two hundred liters of sparkling water a year. For comparison, the average resident of the CIS drinks about fifty liters of water annually, and each resident of China - about twenty liters. According to statistics, carbonated water and drinks made on its basis in America occupy 73-75% of the total production of non-alcoholic products.

The CO2 compressor was invented by Tobern Bergman, a Swedish designer. In the 19th century, this apparatus was improved and its industrial analogue was created. However, the production of water was very expensive, so baking soda was used for carbonation.

Carbonation in modern production is carried out by mechanical, chemical methods. The mechanical method consists in hardware gassing in food tanks, siphons, saturators. Under high pressure, water is saturated with gas from 5 to 10 g/l. The chemical method consists in adding baking soda or acids to the water. The fermentation method is used in the production of cider, kvass, champagne, beer, sparkling wines.

Composition of carbonated water

In the food industry, depending on the composition, slightly, medium and highly carbonated water is isolated. Each carbonated drink has its own sweet and sour base. As sweeteners, cyclomate, aspartame, potassium acesulfate (sunnet), saccharin are usually used.

Very often malic, citric or phosphoric acids are added to the water. Caffeine is added to certain types of carbonated water.

The carbon dioxide in water is used as a preservative. It enters into a chemical reaction with water and quickly dissolves in it. Carbon dioxide, killing all pathogenic microorganisms, extends the shelf life of carbonated drinks.

Benefits of sparkling water

The benefits of carbonated water have been known and used since ancient times. At that time, people used water from natural sources exclusively for medicinal purposes. It was used both for ingestion and as a basis for the preparation of therapeutic baths. Hippocrates, the famous physician of ancient times, devoted a single chapter of his works on medicine to the natural sources of carbonated water.

The benefits of carbonated water were so exceptional and obvious that at the end of the eighteenth century, industrialists turned their attention to this drink. Since then, carbonated water has been sold all over the world. English chemist Joseph Priestley was the first to create a carbonated drink synthetically.

Only natural carbonated water can bring significant benefits to the human body. Chilled sparkling water quenches thirst better than regular water. It is prescribed with a low level of acidity to improve the production of gastric juice. Neutral molecules of natural water nourish the cells of the whole organism and alkalize the blood plasma. Sodium in such a natural drink activates the action of body enzymes, maintains muscle tone and acid-base balance. Magnesium and calcium prevents calcium from being leached into the muscles during various loads. Carbonated natural water improves the functioning of the lymphatic, nervous and cardiovascular systems, increases appetite, increases hemoglobin, and improves digestion.

Sayans, Baikal, Duchess, Tarragon - carbonated drinks containing extracts of medicinal herbs. Tarragon in Tarragon and Duchesse has an anticonvulsant effect, improves digestion and increases appetite. Sayana's drink contains essential and tannins, ascorbic acid and other useful substances. Lemon syrup and leuzea extract at its base relieve fatigue and increase muscle tone, excite the nervous system. Pear infusion in Duchesse perfectly quenches thirst, and also has a diuretic effect.

Harm of carbonated water

Most nutritionists and doctors talk about the dangers of carbonated water of synthetic origin for the human body.

Carbonated water can cause the greatest harm to the body of young children, as well as lactating and pregnant women and people suffering from allergies and obesity and diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Carbonic acid can cause flatulence, bloating and belching.

Carbonated drinks tend to be high in sugar. Regular consumption of sugar in large quantities often leads to disruption of the pancreas and endocrine system and increases the risk of developing diabetes, atherosclerosis.

Synthetic carbonated drinks quench thirst very poorly and are often addictive. Excessive consumption of soda disrupts fat metabolism and water-salt balance in the body, and also contributes to an increase in the concentration of harmful cholesterol in the blood plasma.

Sweeteners in such drinks can cause allergic reactions, urolithiasis and blurred vision.

Caffeine has a stimulating effect on the nervous system. In addition, it can contribute to the development of addiction.

Many carbonated drinks contain sodium benzoate. In combination with ascorbic acid, it releases the harmful carcinogen benzene. This substance is capable of destroying human DNA.

Health

There has long been talk about the dangers of carbonated sugary drinks, and scientists have confirmed that the abuse of such drinks is associated with many health risks. It became clear that in terms of calories, these products have long surpassed white bread, since they contain a huge amount of sugar.

Soda is considered one of the most harmful foods we consume. One small bottle of sweetened water (0.33 liters) can contain about 16 teaspoons of sugar in the form of high fructose corn syrup! This is about 3 times more than the daily norm, according to American Heart Association.

Such a syrup usually contains a mixture of 45 percent glucose and 55 percent fructose, however, some studies have shown that some well-known brands of such drinks add 65 percent fructose syrup.

When you drink such a sweet drink, your pancreas begins to produce insulin at a high rate in response to the sugar that has entered the body. As a result, blood sugar levels rise sharply. Here's what happens in your body after you drink sugary soda:

20 minutes blood sugar reaches high levels, and your liver reacts to the resulting insulin by converting a huge amount of sugar into fat.

40 minutes caffeine absorption stops, your pupils dilate, your blood pressure rises, and your liver dumps more sugar into your bloodstream. This can be easily tracked with tests.

Approximately 45 minutes later your body increases production dopamine, a hormone that stimulates the pleasure centers in the brain. By the way, something similar happens after taking heroin.

After 60 minutes your blood sugar plummets, and you're tempted to drink that evil drink again.

If insulin levels constantly rise, as they usually do if you drink soda regularly, this leads to insulin resistance, which in turn leads to the development of chronic diseases, from diabetes to cancer.

Fructose turns into fat much faster than other sugars and fats

Studies of fructose have shown that it is much more dangerous than other types of sugar. It is processed by the liver and, unlike other sugars, most of it is converted into fat deposits. That is why fructose is the main culprit of obesity, other types of sugar are inferior to it. According to new research, 2 bottles of sugary soda per day can "be deposited" in the form of 0.5 kilograms of fat per week!

In addition to making you gain weight, fructose has also been linked to increased levels. triglycerides. One study found that men who consumed sugary drinks had an average of 32 percent higher triglyceride levels. These substances are the chemical form of fat and are found in some foods and accumulate in our bodies.

Research by scientists over the past 40 years has shown that high levels of triglycerides in the blood, known as hypertriglyceridemia significantly increase the risk of heart disease. Fructose consumption not only causes insulin resistance, but also inhibits leptin send signals to the brain correctly. Leptin is responsible for controlling appetite and fat deposits, and also "tells" the liver what to do with stored glucose.

If your body cannot "hear" the signals of leptin, weight gain, diabetes and other chronic diseases develop. That is, fructose has a very detrimental effect on our health through various mechanisms of action.

What else is in sweet soda?

1) In one glass of soda, about 150 empty calories which are stored primarily as fat

2) One glass also contains approximately 30-55 milligrams of caffeine which causes tremors, insomnia, high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, high blood cholesterol levels, vitamin and mineral depletion, breast lumps, birth defects in children, and even some types of cancer!

3) It contains artificial food colors, including burnt sugar, which has recently been identified as a carcinogen. An artificial brown can be achieved by reacting corn sugar with ammonium and sulfite at high pressure and temperature. This reaction produces by-products that studies in mice and rats have shown can lead to lung, liver, and thyroid cancer.

4) Sulfites. People who are sensitive to sulfites (salts of sulfurous acid) may suffer from headaches, breathing problems and allergies. In some rare cases, sulfites can even be fatal!

5) Benzene. Although there are regulations for the use of this aromatic hydrocarbon in the food industry, studies have shown that it is significantly higher in carbonated drinks.

6) Phosphoric acid, which can affect the body's ability to absorb calcium, leading to osteoporosis, bone and dental problems.

7) Aspartame. This chemical is used as a sugar substitute in diet drinks. There are a huge number of problems that are associated with the excessive use of this substance, including brain tumors, birth defects, diabetes, emotional disorders, epilepsy, convulsions.

8) Tap water. We all know perfectly well that drinking tap water is highly discouraged, because it contains a large amount of harmful components. Unfortunately, in sweet soda, it is tap water that is used as the basis.

9) sodium benzoate is a preservative often used by soda manufacturers. This substance causes DNA damage, which leads to diseases such as cirrhosis of the liver and Parkinson's disease.

When you look at all those dangerous ingredients that are found in sugary soda, it's no surprise that drinking soda causes so many health problems, such as obesity.

One of the studies published in the British Medical Journal The Lancet, showed that a 12-year-old who regularly consumes soda is more likely to be overweight compared to the rest. Indeed, if you consume sugary drinks daily, in 2 years the risk of obesity increases by 60 percent!

As mentioned earlier, sugary soda raises insulin levels, and this, in turn, threatens the appearance of chronic diseases. Even 1 serving of sweet water a day increases the risk of diabetes by 85 percent, and in addition, you are at risk of the following diseases:

--Heart diseases

Osteoporosis

Gout

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease

Reducing soda consumption to zero will help prevent a large number of diseases. To do this, it is also necessary to normalize the level of insulin. Pure water is the best way out, and if you just can't live without soda, at least make homemade lemonade by adding lemon and some sugar to mineral water.

Carbonated water is water that is enriched with carbon dioxide under pressure. There are dozens of different brands and varieties on the market: sweet, mineral, regular bottled - all of it undergoes carbonization - the process of gas enrichment. Most drinks are sold ready-to-drink, and you can make your own sweetened soda with homemade carbonizers and berry syrups.

Whether you make your own or buy from a store, it may be the same composition as plain tap water, or it may contain salts, citrate and bicarbonate of sodium, potassium, disodium phosphate, depending on the type of water and the manufacturer. They add a salty taste to water and are often used as preservatives. Often all these substances are contained in the water initially. This applies to water from springs or artesian wells. It is considered very useful and healing for the body.

We all love sweet carbonated drinks since childhood. These drinks are delicious and fizzy, but don't assume they're beneficial. Over the years, doctors have found a huge amount of harm from their use. So the main question that interests many, can you drink carbonated water?

Infrequent use is unlikely to harm the health of an adult. Problems begin with those who constantly consume these drinks in large quantities. And it's even worse when you deprive yourself of drinking healthy drinks and drink some soda instead. There are many healthy and healthy non-alcoholic drinks that are worth drinking for both adults and children.

Compound

All sweet soda, although different from each other in taste, smell and color, has approximately the same composition. You can familiarize yourself with it simply by turning the bottle over and reading its composition, which the manufacturer is obliged to indicate by law.
Most often, you can find something like this on the label, whether it's cola or lemonade:

  • Natural or artificial flavors
  • Acid
  • Sugar (or sweeteners and sweeteners)
  • Caffeine
  • Carbon dioxide

Why is it worth giving up anyway?

These drinks are really worthless. The main reason for refusal, as for me, is the complete lack of any benefit and nutritional value. This sparkling water is loaded with tons of sugar and empty calories.

Fast carbohydrates are considered junk and do not bring any benefit to your body. Sugar-free soda doesn't even have that. Healthy drinks, unlike sweet soda, contain nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Even plain water can provide your body with minerals and fluids without adding extra calories to your diet.

And they don't do your body any good. Sugar-free soda doesn't even have that. Healthy drinks, unlike sweet soda, contain nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Even plain water can provide your body with minerals and fluids without adding extra calories to your diet.

Stomach.

Carbonated water is produced by adding pressurized carbon dioxide. This results in the formation of weak carboxylic acids. Once ingested, they can cause hiccups and indigestion. With increased care should be treated with such drinks. people suffering from ulcers, gastritis or hernia of the stomach. They can harm or make your condition worse.

Effect on the skin

The biggest problem is the huge sugar content. News about its harmfulness is not something new and unusual. The most important source of unnecessary sugar for a person in our time in the first place is drinks, and we know how it affects your body.

All inflammatory processes intensify. Also, a large amount of sweet soda contains caffeine. One of the side effects of its use is dehydration of the entire body, which primarily affects your skin.
Due to the lack of fluid, wrinkles can appear on the skin over time. The texture of the skin deteriorates, it begins to look dull and saggy, fine lines and wrinkles appear.

Sweet water is a factor in skin aging because it causes the body to produce inflammatory products.
The visible effect on the skin can even be compared to smoking. The side effects of sugar on the skin, including dullness, dryness, and decreased cell production, are the same as those of nicotine.

But there is good news! Refusal to use in a fairly short period of time will restore her condition. After a short period of time, you will notice changes for the better.

Obesity

Carbonated sweet water contributes to the development of obesity and diabetes. It contains fructose corn syrup, harmful sweeteners that directly or indirectly affect obesity. Drinking soda is often linked to type 2 diabetes due to its high sugar content. But what about sugar-free soda? There are no strong differences from the simple.

Used in the manufacture of diet sweet water increases appetite, which makes it more difficult to lose weight.

Effect on teeth and bones

Carbonated water damages your teeth. Acid in the mouth, combined with bacteria, begins to have a detrimental effect on tooth enamel. Any soda, including diet soda, contains acids in its composition. They accelerate the destruction and cause caries, provoking violations of the integrity of the teeth. In addition, sweet water weakens your bones.

Virtually all non-alcoholic soda contains phosphorus and caffeine, substances believed to contribute to the development of osteoporosis. By drinking soda, people drink less healthy drinks, for example. This deprives your bones of an extra dose of calcium. Due to the lack of this element, your bones become weak and brittle.

Soda can harm your organs. Recent studies have found a link between the consumption of sugary soda and the development of certain chronic diseases. The liver, kidneys, and heart suffer from its effects.

Side effects of blisters

Carbonization of water has many negative effects on people. People with irritable bowel syndrome experience bloating and gas due to CO2. Moreover, gases cause disruption of the digestive system in healthy people. For people with a disease of the gastrointestinal tract, gastritis, ulcers and hernia, soda is contraindicated.

Healthy drinks

Luckily, there are plenty of alternatives to unhealthy sodas. At least they do no harm, and many of them are also useful.

Water

This is the best drink ever. It is completely free and flows from your faucet and carries no calories. If you really like sparkling water, then there is a huge selection of various mineral waters. They include many different microcomponents that help your digestion and the body as a whole.

Carbonated water - also known as mineral or bottled water, is plain tap or natural water from a special source without sugar, industrially fortified with carbon dioxide. No sugar, calories, or caffeine are added during its creation.
Drinking the right amount of fluid is vital for good health, and mineral water does an excellent job of this.

Maintaining normal levels of fluid in the body reduces the risk of constipation, and is also necessary for the normal functioning of the heart and kidneys, the regulation of body temperature and the improvement of your skin. Add a slice of lemon to your water for added benefits. Water with lemon has all the benefits of this citrus, including a large amount of antioxidants!

Fruit juice

We mean natural freshly squeezed juices or purchased, with a low sugar content. You can also eat fruits, which contain a lot of liquid, from which you additionally get healthy fibers - fiber.

Milk

It is another important and healthy drink, especially for children. A glass of milk contains 120 calories and nine essential nutrients. The cost of a liter of milk is quite democratic.

Tea

Whatever tea you prefer - green, black, herbal - they all contain high levels of antioxidants that protect your body from the damage caused by free radicals. This prevents a large number of diseases and protects against premature aging.

conclusions

By itself, water in its pure form does not affect your health and body. The use of carbonated water can have many negative consequences. It can increase the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, provoke bloating due to gas in the digestive tract. On the other hand, evidence has been found that soda helps in the fight against constipation in adults and children.

As for sugary water, the risks to your health are much greater. It greatly reduces the density and strength of your bones and teeth, and the huge amount of sugar it contains affects your metabolism and obesity.

However, you can consume sugary soda without problems. All the negative effects are felt when you drink it constantly in large quantities. If you use it, as in rare cases, then nothing threatens your health and you can pamper yourself and your family with them.

As a rule, mineral water is sold carbonated. The basis of bubbles in water is carbon dioxide, which in itself is not harmful. But small bubbles stimulate the secretion of the stomach, which leads to an increase in the acidic environment in the stomach and, as a result, provokes bloating. If a person has diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, for example, an ulcer or gastritis with high acidity, then he is not recommended to drink water with gas. To get rid of gas bubbles, it is enough to shake the bottle of mineral water and then leave it with the cap open for a couple of hours.

Natural water is useful because such water is structured. Structured water replaces water with a destroyed structure in the human body. With the constant use of high-quality natural water, the body is charged with energy, which means that it can cope with infections, viruses and other pathologies on its own.

However, aqueous mineral solutions are diverse. Very concentrated solutions are very harmful to humans. You should be extremely careful with mineral water, which contains radioactive gas radon and hydrogen sulfide. These substances can cause a large number of side effects in the body.

Medicinal mineral water should be drunk in courses, it is not recommended to drink such water all the time. You can not drink such water as ordinary drinking, there must be a strict dosage under the supervision of a specialist.

Bottled mineral water, even if it is natural, was poured by special machines and automatic machines, and this happens almost without human intervention. No one knows whether the conditions were taken into account during extraction, storage, whether sanitary standards were observed, etc. Cases of poisoning with bottled water have already been recorded more than once.

During long transportation, the liquid crystals of natural water are destroyed and the water ceases to be structured, which means it is no longer so useful.

From the very beginning, man received salts from ordinary water and food. This amount of salt is enough for a person even now. But people have long learned to season with salt to improve the taste, and excess salt is not good for the human body. Dieticians constantly say that the amount of salt consumed should be reduced - this is necessary for the prevention of various diseases.

Now, with such an abundance of mineral water, it is even easier to overdo it with a set of salts. Every year there are more and more cases of urolithiasis, salt deposits in the joints, gout, etc.

The harm from carbonated mineral water increases many times if you drink alcohol with it or drink it to fight a hangover. Mineral water, which is saturated with salts and carbon dioxide, mixes with alcohol and reactions occur in the body that lead to irreversible metabolic disorders.

Carbon dioxide, dissolved in water, after entering the body becomes very active. It enters into compounds with biologically active substances, accelerates or stops the course of biochemical reactions, and this affects the metabolism as a whole.

Water with carbon dioxide forms carbonic acid, which irritates the walls of the stomach, as a result, the stomach begins to digest its walls.

Under the influence of carbonic acid, if it constantly enters the stomach, the production of gastric juice increases. In addition, carbon dioxide stretches the walls of the stomach and causes belching. With gas, acid from the stomach enters the esophagus, and this can lead to cancer.

Cold mineral water, which has a high level of carbonic acid, when placed in a warm stomach with an acidic environment, starts a gas formation reaction, and this can lead to the formation of holes in the stomach or rupture of the esophagus.

Daily fluid intake is necessary for a person, like air and food. But no one wants to use ordinary water and replaces it with tea, coffee, juices, compotes and sparkling water. And if simple clean water makes up for the lack of fluid, then lemonade, on the contrary, can cause significant harm to health and cause irreversible reactions.

About what the harm of carbonated drinks on the human body, a lot has already been said, nutritionists and supporters of a healthy lifestyle everywhere remind of the effect of carbonated lemonade, give examples of the consequences, but people both used it and continue to drink it instead of ordinary water. Sweet water with gas has become a favorite drink of all generations, and prickly bubbles of carbon dioxide in it have not left anyone indifferent. At the same time, you can often see how young mothers give it even to children, without thinking about the composition of the soda. What does carbonated water bring: benefit or harm? Can it be given to children? And how much lemonade can be consumed by adults?

The composition of all carbonated lemonades presented today in our supermarkets and stores is approximately the same, and their main component is water. When only carbon dioxide is added to water, a drink is obtained that quenches thirst well, refreshes and at the same time it tastes better than plain water.

Important! Normally, the content of carbon dioxide in such a drink of water should not exceed 10 g per 1 liter.

The carbon dioxide in the composition of mineral water is needed in order to preserve its properties and make it resistant to bacteria. At the same time, carbon dioxide is considered the least harmful preservative. But for economic benefits, manufacturers add various components to lemonades that do not quench thirst and do not make up for the lack of fluid in the body, but only increase the desire to drink.

These include:

  • sugar or sweeteners;
  • preservatives and food acids that extend the shelf life of the product;
  • dyes, flavor enhancers and flavors;
  • sometimes caffeine.

Together, these ingredients stimulate the sense of taste and produce a false sensation of thirst quenching. But the most dangerous thing in sugary drinks and lemonade is that their components increase the production of pleasure neurons in the brain, as in drug addicts and alcoholics. And this can provoke the development of addiction to such water. To neutralize the negative impact of lemonade, you need to drink a lot of clean non-carbonated and non-mineral water.

What are the dangerous components of carbonated water?

Let's take a closer look at what are the main ingredients of lemonades and sweet water with gas and how they affect us, and determine what is the harm of lemonade to human health.

Sugar

Sugar is a highly digestible carbohydrate whose health hazard lies in its quantity - 1 cup of sweet lemonade contains up to 5 tablespoons of sugar! And if you consider that during the heat you can drink more than one liter of such a liquid, then the result is a serious figure. Of course, someone can say that sugar is glucose, which increases mental activity, performance and is a source of energy, without realizing that it quickly turns into fat and settles on the sides, hips and stomach.

Please note: In addition, sugar causes caries, diseases of the cardiovascular system, and even the development of atherosclerosis. And a large amount of glucose in the blood leads to increased production of the hormone insulin, which is responsible for its processing, to a violation of the functionality of the pancreas and provokes the development of diabetes and obesity.

Today, many manufacturers, in an effort to reduce the amount of glucose in their products, have switched to the production of sugar-free lemonades and use sweeteners at the same time - synthetic substances that are also not harmless to health.

Sweeteners:

  • contribute to the formation of kidney stones;
  • negatively affect vision;
  • can cause allergies in its various manifestations: from itching to Quincke's edema.

But the common property of all sweeteners is that they are carcinogens and can cause the development of cancer.

Acids and preservatives

In the production of soft drinks and sweet drinks, it is customary to use citric and phosphoric acids (E330 and E338, respectively), which act as preservatives and flavor enhancers, helping manufacturers to recreate tastes that are identical to natural ones. But E338 in a sweet drink after drinking washes out calcium, which causes health problems and the development of osteoporosis even in young people. And with a regular intake of citric acid E330, tooth enamel dissolves, which leads to the development of caries. In addition, it causes gastritis, urolithiasis and renal colic.

Attention! The most dangerous complication due to the intake of lemonade in large quantities is the destruction of calcium, which leads to brittle bones and their long-term fusion. Sometimes a lack of calcium leads to disability.

For a long shelf life of the drink and preserve the taste of lemonade, sodium benzoate (E211) is used, which turns into toxic benzene. This element leads to mutations in cells and increases the risk of cancer.

Caffeine

This substance is found in energy drinks. Caffeine gives energy, increases the efficiency of a person, making him active and alert. But the catch is that cheerfulness quickly disappears, and in its place appears irritation, apathy, lethargy, drowsiness and fatigue. The next portion is able to correct the situation, but not for long. And as a result, the use of a caffeinated drink causes not only irreparable damage to human health, but also persistent addiction, and turns into addiction.

Carbon dioxide

Without carbon dioxide, soda or lemonade will not be so. It is for the hiss and sharp bubbles of gas that hit the nose and pinch the tongue that both children and adults love carbonated drinks. The gas itself is harmless, but dangerous to the stomach and the entire gastrointestinal tract. Carbon dioxide, which is contained in the gas, is released during a chemical reaction with water and irritates the mucous membrane of the digestive tract, which leads to exacerbations of peptic ulcers, enteritis and gastritis.

What are the consequences of drinking soda?

Sugary drinks and lemonade with carbon dioxide and other additives are synthetic products that do not carry any nutritional value for health. The main harm that causes lemonade with gas lies in the action of carbon dioxide and sugar present in the composition of this drink.

They may cause:

  • increased gas formation, belching and painful bloating;
  • disruption of the endocrine system;
  • increased production of insulin;
  • development of diabetes;
  • disorders in the liver;
  • body dehydration.

Therefore, most often lovers of sweet water suffer from overweight or even obesity, have health problems and mental disorders. This is due to the fact that the intake of a large amount of "fast" carbohydrates in the body leads to the fact that they settle in the form of fat.

And the calories that are part of the sweet water with gas do not have any effect on the feeling of hunger - it remains the same even after a large amount of soda drunk. Therefore, a person begins to consume much more food with a high energy value than his body needs.

Remember! Sugary carbonated drinks are not able to quench thirst, but only cause it and increase it, and as a result, a person drinks more of it. Therefore, all the calories and carbohydrates contained in such water are deposited over time on the waist and hips.

Contraindications to soda

Despite all the warnings of nutritionists about the negative effects of lemonade on health, most people still continue to drink sugary drinks with gas, and in unlimited quantities.

But there are groups of people for whom they are absolutely contraindicated. This:

  • suffering from chronic diseases of the digestive system;
  • children under 3 years old;
  • pregnant and lactating women;
  • people with obesity and diabetes;
  • losing weight;
  • allergies and asthmatics;
  • suffering from hormonal disorders.

Lemonade is especially contraindicated for those who often experience gingivitis, stomatitis and other "dental" diseases. But if you don't belong to one of these groups of people who are contraindicated for drinking sweet soda with gas, this does not mean that you can drink it regularly. After all, even minor reactions of the body, such as flatulence, bloating, heartburn, frequent belching and seething, indicate its negative impact and become a reason to think: is this sweet water not safe for my health? It is impossible to determine in advance what the body's reaction to the use of carbonated drinks will be. It depends on the general condition of the body, the presence of chronic pathologies and hereditary predisposition.

Is there any benefit?

No matter how many reports are made and how many examples are given about the dangers of soda with gas, such water can even be useful. It all depends on the contents of the bottle. So, if the composition of sweet carbonated water includes natural ingredients or extracts of medicinal herbs, then such a drink will only have a positive effect on the body. For example, Duchess and Tarragon, which contain tarragon, are an effective natural remedy that has a vasoconstrictive effect and improves the functioning of the digestive system. The composition of the carbonated waters of "Sayan" and "Baikal" includes an extract of leuzea - a plant that is known for its ability to tone the body and relieve fatigue, increase muscle activity and normalize the functioning of the nervous system. Such water can be drunk even with diabetes.

After we have determined the benefits and harms of sweet soda, let's figure out how to reduce its harm to the body, not limit yourself and sometimes indulge in sweet soda without harm to health.

For this it is enough:

  • allow no more than 0.5 liters of soda per day and no more than once a week;
  • choose soda in glass containers, and not in aluminum cans or plastic;
  • drink a drink through a straw or after releasing gas;
  • switch to plain water, compotes, fruit drinks or natural kvass.

Speaking about the harm carbonated drinks cause to our body, we must not forget that they, like any other synthetic product, with regular and excessive use, can affect the general well-being of a person and significantly reduce his immunity. There is no single answer to the question of whether carbonated water harms or benefits the body. But when choosing such a drink, you should pay attention to its origin: natural or synthetic, the amount of sugar in it and the expiration date. And, most importantly, do not buy soda every day and do not use it as the main source of drinking. Then there will be no significant harm from sweet carbonated drinks.
