A new cast-iron pan for baking pancakes also needs to be "cooked". Namely: first pour salt into the pan so that it completely covers the bottom, and heat it, stirring, for 20 minutes. After that pour the salt, let it cool, then rinse thoroughly and dry the pan. Then grease it inside and out with vegetable oil and bake in the oven at 180 degrees for about 30 minutes.
