I advise you to take potatoes for this recipe, which very well fall apart, boil during cooking. These are potatoes with a high starch content. Such a potato absorbs all the milk (by the way, milk can be taken in half with cream, the result will be even better) and it will simply taste delicious.

  1. Grease the baking dish with butter.
  2. Pass the garlic through the garlic squeezer. Lubricate the baking dish with garlic. Slices of crushed garlic leave on the walls and bottom of the mold.
  3. Potatoes are cut into plastics 3-4 mm thick. Look at the photo. If you have potatoes with a high starch content and you are sure that it is well cooked, you can cut them into thicker slices - half a centimeter, or even a centimeter.
  4. We spread the potato slices in overlapping rows - like fish scales (look at the photo). I had 3 layers of such. Each layer needs to be sprinkled with a small handful of grated cheese (on the lower layers it will take about a third of the whole cheese, the rest of the cheese will need to be sprinkled on top, and also a part should be added to the egg and milk fill)
  5. Preparing the filling: put a little grated cheese in a bowl, break 2 raw eggs into it, pour in the milk, salt and pepper with black pepper, stir well with a whisk. It is good to add a pinch of nutmeg. I did not have this spice and I added Adyghe salt (a mixture of dried garlic, salt, dried parsley and dried dill, coriander). Pour potatoes with this filling.
  6. Distribute the rest of the cheese grated evenly on top.
  7. Also put slices of butter over the entire surface of the potato.
  8. Put everything in the oven for an hour. When I put it in the oven, I slightly covered the form with foil (you can use the lid), but not tightly. Later, somewhere 15-20 minutes before turning off, I removed the foil so that the potatoes were browned.
