As already noted, the strudel can be prepared with any fillings, while it can serve not only dessert, but also a delicious snack or main course. We offer to cook three delicious fillings for strudel.

Cottage cheese

For its preparation will need:

  • 400 g of cottage cheese;
  • one egg yolk;
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar;
  • 1/3 tablespoon raisins.

Raisin pour hot water. When it swells, drain the water. All ingredients are mixed and can be used as a stuffing for strudel.

  From the fat content of cottage cheese depends on the consistency of the filling in the finished dish.

Mushroom


  This strudel can be served as a snack. Guests will appreciate this cake. For the mushroom filling you will need:

  • 600 g - mushrooms;
  • 4 pieces - eggs;
  • 2 onions;
  • 100 g - hard cheese;
  • greens - at will.
  1. Boil eggs.
  2. Mushrooms and onions cut, fry in a pan.
  3. When they are cold, grate boiled eggs in a filling with a large grater and add the chopped hard cheese in small cubes.

  • 400 g - minced meat;
  • 2 onions;
  • 1 clove garlic;
  • 0.5 buns;
  • One egg;
  • 0.5 tbsp mustard for savory taste.

If you want the filling to be juicy, then you should take pork mince. Chicken stuffing will be more dense and will stick well inside the pie.

  1. The bun must be soaked in water or milk.
  2. After - along with onions skip to the meat grinder.
  3. Add minced meat, garlic, extruded through a press, mustard.
  4. Salt, add pepper, mix. The filling is ready for use.

  1. The thinner the strudel dough is rolled out, the tastier it will turn out.
  2. Only distance dough can stretch to the maximum.
  3. The wrapped cake is laid out on a greased baking pan with seam down.

  8. The secret to a delicious filling is 1–2 tablespoons of rum, which gives apples a special flavor.

How to submit a strudel?

The strudel is universal, and it can be served both hot and cold. An excellent pair is considered: apple strudel + natural freshly brewed coffee. But the classic presentation (as in a restaurant) should be as follows:

  • Put a portion of hot apple strudel on a large plate.
  • Next to put a ball of cold ice cream.

This combination is considered ideal, just need to eat dessert as quickly as possible, because the ice cream will quickly melt near the hot strudel.

Gourmets eat apple strudel under properly cooked mulled wine.

Step 1: Cooking dough.

Before you start kneading the dough you need to prepare the butter. As I indicated in the list of ingredients, it needs to be melted. This can be done in several ways, but the easiest and most convenient, in my opinion, is to melt the oil in a skillet. This is done on a slow fire. As soon as the oil becomes completely liquid, simply remove the dishes from the stove and leave to one side, not allowing to cool much.
Now pour the flour into a deep bowl, sifting it through a sieve. Then pour in the same warm, but not hot water, 10 tablespoons of melted butter and break the egg. Knead the dough, do it better with your hands. As soon as it becomes smooth, smooth and elastic, wrap it in plastic wrap and send it to the fridge for a rest. 30 minutes.

Step 2: Prepare the filling.



Open a jar of canned cherries and pour its contents into a colander so that the stack of syrups has excess syrup. Then put the berries in a plate, sprinkle them with sugar and mix. Don't forget to add almond slices to the filling as well. They can be immediately mixed with cherries or later pour directly onto the dough.

Step 3: Form a cherry strudel.



Spread a sheet of parchment paper on the countertop and sprinkle it with sifted flour. Put on the paper rested dough, ridding it of plastic film, and using a rolling pin, roll out the mass, turning it into a large and very thin sheet.
Put the cherry-nut filling on the resulting pancake from the dough, placing the berries closer to one edge. Now lift the edge closest to the filling, pulling on the parchment paper. Gently wrap the dough in a roll, gradually freeing it from paper; this process is somewhat similar to making Japanese rolls. As a result, you should get a kind of sausage. Seal the edges and be very careful not to tear the thin dough.

Step 4: Bake the cherry strudel.



Transfer the cherry strudel onto a greased baking sheet. For convenience, bend the edges of the product in the shape of the letter "P", turning the roll into a big bagel. Using a silicone brush, brush the dough with the remaining melted butter.
Bake strudel need when 200 degrees  and put it in the already heated oven. So it is better to take care of this immediately and put the kitchen appliance to warm up to the desired temperature in advance.
Cook strudel during 30-40 minutes. During this time, an appetizing ruddy crust is formed on its surface. But after the product is baked, do not rush to serve it. Allow your stunning and fragrant strudel to cool at room temperature for 10-15 minutes.

Step 5: Serve a cherry strudel.



Before serving, slightly cooled strudel with cherries must be sprinkled with powdered sugar. This dessert is served not entirely, but already cut into portions. But when slicing it, be especially careful, as the dough is very thin, and the filling all strives to fall out, so hold it with a spatula. It is also good to decorate the strudel pieces with a small amount of vanilla or creamy ice cream, it is the ice cream that will perfectly emphasize the refined taste of cherry-almond filling and thin, melting dough in the mouth.
