For the preparation of a delicious dessert, a pear is perfect. To make the delicacy the most interesting and have a richer taste and aroma, it is worth choosing autumn varieties of pears, since they, unlike winter ones, are softer. These fruits are very sweet when fresh, and the caramelized pear is just honey.

Such desserts are often included in the menu of the most expensive restaurants, but you can cook a pear in caramel on your own, if you follow the recipes, as well as the advice of experienced chefs. To make the sweet yourself, you only need the most common ingredients that can be found in the kitchen of any good housewife. Such a dessert can be served to the table both every day and for a celebration. It will certainly amaze guests with its look and taste.

A caramelized pear can be served as an independent dish, sprinkled with topping or decorated with mint sprigs, or together with whipped cream, a scoop of ice cream or cottage cheese.

How to cook?

Recipe number 1

To caramelize a pear, you need to prepare:

  • 2-3 pears (you should choose firm fruits, they should not be too soft, otherwise, during the cooking process, the latter may boil and turn into porridge);
  • 50 grams of oil;
  • 2 or 3 tbsp. l. Sahara;
  • 150-170 ml of pure water;
  • half a lemon;
  • 30-40 ml of light grape juice.

For cooking, you need to melt the sugar in a frying pan to make caramel. Put the pan on very low heat, add oil, add sugar and squeeze the juice out of the lemon.

While the caramel is preparing, it is worth preparing the fruit. Wash the pears under running water, cut and remove the seeds. You can pour lemon juice over the cut area so that the fruit does not darken.

Hot water mixed with grape juice is poured into a frying pan. Pour in liquid carefully so that there is no splashing. After boiling, the pears are placed on the bottom of the pan so that their cut is from the bottom. The pears should be boiled in this syrup for 5 or 7 minutes. After that, the halves are turned over and allowed to boil for another 5 minutes. The syrup will thicken as it cooks. After the sauce has thickened, turn off the heat and leave the pears in the pan until they cool completely.

Recipe number 2

Have to take:

  • 2 or 3 small firm pears;
  • 3 tbsp. tablespoons of granulated sugar;
  • 20 grams of butter;
  • 130-150 ml of water.

In a certain order, you need to start preparing an exquisite dessert. Melt the sugar in a small saucepan. After it turns into caramel, add oil to the container. The mass is well mixed so that it becomes homogeneous.

The pears, peeled and cut in half, are laid out in caramel and covered with water. It is better to take the water already hot, and pour it in a little so that there is no splashing.

Cook cut fruit in caramel, making a small fire, for 5–7 minutes, then turn the pears over to the other side and boil for the same amount of time. The readiness of the fruit can be checked with the sharp tip of a knife. The knife should pass freely through the pears. If the knife comes in with difficulty, the cooking time of the fruit can be increased. After readiness, the caramelized fruits are kept in a container until they cool.

In the event that very juicy pears were chosen for the dish, then the caramel may remain liquid and not thicken. In this case, the pears are taken out, and the syrup is left to cook to make it thicker.

Recipe number 5

An upside-down pear pie is a great excuse to drink tea.

For this pie, the pear should be cut not into slices, as in previous recipes, but into thin slices, while their thickness should be less than 5 mm. Such pieces are very thin, so they need to be poured with caramel directly in the form where the cake will be baked.

According to the recipe for such a cake, you need to take 2 large pears, which are cut into thin slices, and put them immediately on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Caramel is poured over the pears so that it completely covers the slices.

Dough:

  • butter -120 g;
  • sugar - 200 g;
  • 2 large or 3 small eggs;
  • milk - 100 ml;
  • flour -180 g;
  • 1 tbsp. l. baking powder;
  • cinnamon, ginger, vanillin, salt - pinch at a time.

To knead the dough for the pie, you need to beat the butter and sugar, then add the eggs and milk. The mass is stirred so that it becomes homogeneous, without lumps. Then flour, baking powder, cinnamon, etc. are added to it.

Spread the dough on the caramelized pears. The cake is baked at 180 degrees for 45 minutes. After a while, the cake is taken out, allowed to cool slightly and turned over, while the fruit will be on top.

It is worth trying to cook caramelized pears in order to appreciate how delicious the dessert turns out to be. This dish will be undoubtedly popular. The dessert is easy to prepare and does not require a lot of time to prepare.

Unlike apples, pears this year decided not to upset me and just presented a splendid harvest. And that's why I make homemade pear jam - tender, aromatic and very tasty! In my culinary book there are several successful recipes for pear jam with slices, but, in addition to the traditional proven ones, I decided to make a new one - fried pear jam with lemon. Why fried? Because it is not cooked in the usual way - in a frying pan. That is, you do not cook it painfully for a long time, but quickly fry it in a pan.

It turns out very tasty pear jam in just half an hour. The only drawback of this recipe is that you cannot cook a lot of such jam at a time, the amount is strongly limited by the capacity of the pan. But they all have their flaws, right? In a sense, this is even convenient - you definitely will not get tired until you prepare a small portion of jam, and this process will only be a joy to you.

I hope you are interested in me and you are already looking forward to learning how to make pear and lemon jam. In this case, I invite you to my kitchen - it is impossible to cook delicious thick pear jam.

Ingredients for a frying pan with a diameter of 26 cm:

  • 0.7 kg of pears;
  • 250 g sugar;
  • juice and zest of half a lemon (medium).

* The weight of the prepared pears is indicated - peeled and hard core.

How to make pear jam in a pan:

For the jam, we need hard but ripe pears. We peel them and cut them into arbitrary small pieces about 0.5 cm thick.

As I said, this is a recipe for pear and lemon jam: we need both zest and juice. Pour pears, sugar and lemon zest into a dry frying pan with a Teflon coating, pour lemon juice. Mix gently.

We put the pan on medium heat and bring to a boil - the pears are letting in a lot of juice at once, the mass will become liquid. Remove foam and reduce heat to minimum.

We cook the jam, periodically skimming off the foam, for 25-30 minutes, so that it becomes thicker and the color becomes darker (at the beginning of cooking, the pears were completely white).

We immediately lay out the finished jam in dry sterilized jars. Like most recipes for jams, this is a pear jam - no sterilization. Therefore, we simply tightly close the jars with lids. Turn the jars upside down and let stand until they cool completely.

You can store such jam at room temperature, but always in a dark place.

At the same time, it is better to cook the jam from pears of the same variety. In this case, all the pieces will be cooked at the same time, and they will look the same.

If you cut the pears, and there is no way to cook the jam immediately after that, then they need to be placed in a salty solution (10 g of salt per 1 liter of water). This will prevent them from darkening. Before cooking the pears, we put them in a colander so that the excess liquid is glass.

Fry large pieces of pears in a skillet over medium heat.

Fry thin pears in a skillet over medium heat.
