Cooking panini. Interesting panini recipes

A cheese and sausage sandwich is the most common dish that is quickly prepared, loved by everyone, and provides the body with energy for the whole day. Inventive Italian chefs have made small changes to the usual sandwich, making it even more delicious and original.

Panini is an Italian sandwich that consists of two slices of bread and is a quick and nutritious snack, the variety of which depends only on the imagination of the chef and the availability of food in the refrigerator.

Perhaps most of all Italians love panini with mozzarella.

For this you will need:

- 4-8 small slices of bread for 2-3 people;
- 2 tbsp. tablespoons of butter;
- 250 grams of mozzarella;
- 2 red tomatoes;
- 2 tbsp. spoons of pesto sauce and fresh basil leaves.

Cooking process

Spread pesto on a slice of bread. Mozzarella cheese and tomatoes are cut into thin circles, which we spread on the halves of the bread. You can also add basil or parsley leaves if you like. We cover all the layers with the second half of the bread, and put the panini on a preheated pan, which we fry in solar oil for 3 minutes on each side. This sandwich can be eaten for both breakfast and dinner. It is very tasty, healthy, satisfying and at the same time low-calorie.

If you are not a fan of mozzarella cheese, then you can put a piece of ham instead. Paninas can also be prepared with a piece of salmon. However, let's change the ingredients a bit:

- ciabatta bread or a small bun;
- 100 grams of mozzarella;
- 50 grams of lightly salted salmon;
- 2 tbsp. spoons of mayonnaise;
- lettuce and basil leaves.

The first stage is to dry the ciabatta bread a little in the oven until a crispy crust appears. Then we grease the bread with sauce and mayonnaise, and lay out thin slices of salmon, mozzarella, and cover with a second slice of bread. If desired, panini can be fried again in a pan so that the cheese melts a little.

And the kids will really like chocolate panini, in which instead of ham and fish, we use nut butter, honey, chocolate, cloves. On a slice of bread, apply a mixture of nut butter, honey and cloves, and sprinkle with chocolate on top and cover with the second half. After that, we coat the panini with melted sunflower oil and fry in a pan.

Try the following methods and you will have a great panini in just a few minutes!

Ingredients

  • meat slices
  • Olive oil

Steps

Part 1

cooking panini

    Choose bread. Panini can be made with Italian bread, ciabatta, focaccia, rye bread, or any other baked product you like.

    Brush the inside of the bread with olive oil. Take a pastry brush or butter knife and spread the olive oil evenly on the inside of the bread. The bread should be covered with a thin layer of butter, don't overdo it.

    • If you spread too much olive oil, the bread will become soft!
  1. Add cheese. Place a slice of cheese on each half of the bread brushed with olive oil. Cheese will perfectly hold both halves of the bread in the further preparation of panini.

    • You can add shredded cheese.
    • Cheese can be put on one half of the bread.
  2. Add toppings. Here you have complete creative freedom. You can think of any combination of sliced or shredded meats, and try making paninis with vegetables like grilled zucchini. Place pieces of meat or zucchini on one half of the bread.

    • Make a thicker panini by adding more toppings.
  3. Add spice. Try adding chopped onion or fresh cilantro. Salt and pepper the sandwich, add garlic or even a dash of hot sauce.

    • If you want to add lettuce, tomatoes, or spinach, wait until the panini is done. This will keep your veggies crisp and soft.
  4. Cover the sandwich with the other half of the bread. Make sure that there is not too much filling inside the panini, otherwise the dish will not heat up evenly during frying.

    • You can brush the panini with margarine.

    Part 2

    Panini frying
    1. Reheat the sandwich maker (optional). You can fry panini in a sandwich maker, it's easy and simple. Put the panini inside the appliance, close the lid. Cook 3-5 minutes.

      • Check the user manual for cooking times, or fry the sandwich until golden and crispy.
    2. Heat up the pan. Add butter or vegetable oil, heat it over medium heat until the butter begins to melt and the vegetable oil begins to boil. Don't let the oil burn. If you don't have a sandwich maker, you can use a grill pan, but a regular frying pan works just as well. Place sandwich on hot grill pan.

      Heat another cast iron skillet on an adjacent burner. If you are not using a sandwich maker, you still need to press the sandwich down. A cast iron skillet works well for this. You can also use a metal skillet, but cast iron works best.

      • Be careful when handling the pan. Cast iron pans get very hot, so use oven mitts to handle the heated pan.
    3. Press the panini. Place a hot cast iron skillet directly on top of the panini. The weight of the cast iron pan will create the effect of a sandwich maker. Keep in mind that there is also an alternative to a cast iron skillet. You can press the panini in the following ways:

      Fry the panini. Fry the panini for about 3-5 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted.

      Flip. Remove the skillet from the heat and use a spatula to flip the panini to the other side. Fry until the cheese is melted and the underside is golden brown.

      Add vegetables. Take the panini out of the pan and carefully open it. Add lettuce, spinach, or any other vegetable you like. Adding green vegetables at the end of panini cooking will keep them crispy.

      Cut the panini with a sharp, straight-bladed knife. If you use a sharp, straight-bladed knife rather than a serrated knife, you will end up with even cuts of the finished dish. Serve panini with chips, a cup of broth, a delicious salad. Bon appetit!

    Part 3

    Getting creative with panini

      Try making paninis with different types of bread. You can use any bakery product, even a bagel. Go to a bakery or bakery department and try to buy a bagel, bagel, piita, or even plain white bread. Your possibilities are endless!

      Experiment with cheese. Add hot cheddar or spicy pepperjack. You can grate the cheese or cut it into thin slices. Mix different types of cheese, you can get an interesting combination. Take any cheese you like.

      • Add some grated Parmesan, Manchego or soft goat cheese.
    1. Make crispy panini. Increase the toasting or roasting time by a few minutes for a rich golden brown bread. Crispy fried bread makes paninis that are crispy on the outside and tender and soft on the inside.

    2. Add vegetables. Chop the tomatoes, cucumber, onion or mushrooms. You can add vegetables both raw and baked. Add a few basil leaves or bell pepper slices.

      • Be careful with "liquid" ingredients. They can turn panini into a mushy mass. If you're adding tomatoes, cucumbers, or other water-rich foods, remove the seeds with excess juice first.
    3. Add fruits. Yes, it's fruits. Slices of apples or pears add a sweet and refreshing flavor to both meat and vegetarian panini.

      • Try grilled eggplant in place of deli meats for a vegan panini.

Panini dough: recipe with photo

To begin with, it is worth saying that under the name "panini" lies a hot sandwich, for the preparation of which crispy Italian buns (or bread) ciabatta are used. A feature of this baking is its porous structure and excellent taste.

Of course, the stores sell ready-made tortillas for making Italian snacks. But if you wish, you can independently make the basis for the panini. The test recipe is quite simple. You will need:

  • 500 g white flour;
  • a glass of warm water;
  • 25 g fresh yeast;
  • 50 ml of vegetable oil (experts recommend using natural olive oil);
  • a tablespoon of salt (or sugar, if we are talking about making a dessert).

So, sift the flour into a deep bowl, mix it with salt (or sugar). In the hill of flour, you need to make a small depression - vegetable oil is poured here, as well as yeast, previously dissolved in warm water. Now the dough can be kneaded, after which the container is covered with a towel and put in a warm place for about an hour (during this time the dough will grow up).

This amount of ingredients is usually enough to make eight buns. Cakes made from dough should be greased with oil and sent to a preheated oven. Buns are baked at a temperature of 180 degrees.

Panini with chicken: recipe with photo

For the preparation of sandwiches, you can take both ready-made ciabatta bread purchased at the store, as well as self-made tortillas from yeast dough.

  • 100 g chicken breast (it must first be boiled or baked);
  • 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise;
  • a small amount of fresh lemon juice;
  • a teaspoon of curry (can be replaced with turmeric);
  • fresh tomato.

First, the bread is heated in a toaster or fried in a pan (without the use of vegetable oil). One of the bread slices is smeared with a pre-prepared sauce (you need to mix mayonnaise, curry, lemon juice and salt). Sliced chicken breast, tomato are spread on top. Then everything is covered with a fresh lettuce leaf and a second slice of bread. The resulting delicious sandwich is panini. The recipe, if desired, can be modified by adding various components.

  • yeast dough;
  • Sun-dried tomatoes;
  • a little olive oil;
  • salt, pepper, oregano, basil to taste.

Oregano and basil leaves need to be crushed and mixed with yeast dough (from recipe No. 1). The resulting mixture is divided into eight parts and rolled out. • If you want the bread to be tender, and the filling soft and hot, then after a quick frying on both sides, cover the pan with a lid and sweat the panini over low heat for just a couple of minutes.
  • To keep the panini from falling apart and being more crispy, it is best to use bread crusts.
  • It is recommended to fry panini without oil. But if you lightly grease the bottom of the pan with olive oil, then the appetizer will turn out to be more tender and fragrant.
  • Try experimenting with toppings and use whatever foods you have: vegetables, mushrooms, fish, meat, various cheeses, and even fruits and berries.
