  1. Peel and boil the potatoes in salted water until half cooked. Meanwhile, fry the chopped onion and minced meat in sunflower oil.
  2. Wait for the tubers to cool, then use a teaspoon to scoop out the centers of each potato to create deep “cups.”
  3. Place the minced meat into the holes, beat 1 quail egg into the holes.
  4. Sprinkle the tubers with coarsely grated cheese and chopped herbs.
  5. Place the dish in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 20–30 minutes.

You will need
  • 500 gr. minced meat
  • 6 avg. potatoes
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 onion
  • 100 g hard cheese
  • 100 g mayonnaise
  • sunflower oil
  • salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 3 teeth garlic


How to cook
  1. Peel the potatoes, cut 5 tubers into round slices, place them in a deep bowl, add salt and pepper, and you can add your favorite spices.
  2. Grate half the peeled onion on a fine grater and mix it with minced meat, finely grated potato tuber and egg. Add salt, pepper and mix everything well.
  3. Wash the tomato, cut it into thin round slices. Cut the remaining onion into thin rings.
  4. Grease a baking sheet with sunflower oil and place the meat mixture on it, forming flat cakes with wet hands. Place onion rings, tomatoes and potatoes on top. Place the baking sheet in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 20 minutes.
  5. In a deep container, mix mayonnaise with garlic passed through a press, finely grated cheese and chopped herbs.
  6. Remove the dish from the oven, brush the potatoes with the sauce and return the pan to the oven for 20 minutes.

Lavash rolls with potatoes

You will need
  • 2 potato tubers
  • 2 tbsp. l. sunflower oil
  • 1 chip ground black pepper
  • 4 sheets of thin pita bread
  • 1 tsp. wheat flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • sesame to taste


How to cook
  1. Peel the potatoes, cut them into quarters and boil in salted water until tender.
  2. Drain the water from the pan, add ground black pepper and puree the tubers.
  3. Spread the pita bread on the work surface and brush it with sunflower oil using a silicone brush.
  4. Lightly sprinkle the pita bread with sifted flour and place the second one on top of the first sheet. Cut the pita bread into strips (4–5 cm wide). Cut the longest parts in half.
  5. Using a tablespoon, place potatoes on the tip of each strip and roll the strips into tubes.
  6. Place the tubes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush them with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

  • Peel and rinse potatoes. Cut into thin slices. If you have a slicer, great, use it.
  • Place the potatoes in a deep container, add salt, pepper and mix.
  • Peel the onions, wash them and cut them into thin slices.
  • Prepare the baking dish. Lubricate it generously with butter.
  • Now we begin to lay out the chopped root vegetables. Spread the potato slices evenly in the first layer, followed by the onion rings. So we alternate several layers.

  • The last layer should be potatoes. We lay it out beautifully in tiles (as in the photo).
  • Now let's start filling. Heat the milk and broth (ideally it should be meat broth). Mix them and pour over the potatoes. There should be enough liquid so that it reaches the last layer of potatoes, but does not completely cover it.
  • Melt the butter and pour 1/2 of it over the top of our “casserole”.
  • Cover the pan tightly with foil and place in an oven preheated to 200 degrees.
  • Bake for 40 minutes.

  • After this time, remove the pan with potatoes from the oven and remove the foil. Reduce the oven temperature to 180 degrees and bake for another 40 minutes.
  • 10 minutes before the end, check the readiness of the casserole.
  • The top layer of potatoes should brown and the liquid should be completely absorbed.
  • Pour the remaining melted butter over the finished dish.

Boulanger potatoes can easily be turned into a main dish. To do this, cut any meat (chicken or pork) into strips and place it in the first layer on a baking tray. All other processes are identical to the main recipe.
