Ingredients:

100 grams soft butter

150 grams of sugar

1.5 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup dried fruit

We turn on the oven 180 degrees. Line a baking sheet with baking paper. In a deep bowl, mix butter, sugar, vanilla, eggs and zest of one lemon.

Then add the sifted wheat flour of the highest grade and baking powder. Mix until a homogeneous consistency.

Cut dried fruits into small pieces. Any will do - dried apricots, dates, raisins, figs, cherries, cranberries, prunes.

Pour the prepared dried fruits into the dough and mix again. You can also add any chopped nuts.

Put the dough on a baking sheet with parchment. Since it is very soft, we take it with wet fingers and form two identical long loaves.

Keep them spaced apart as they will expand as they bake. We put the baking sheet in the preheated oven for 30 minutes and bake until a beautiful ruddy color.

Remove from oven and leave to cool for 10-15 minutes. Then, right on the baking sheet, cut each loaf across into slices 1-1.5 cm thick.

Sift flour into a bowl, add salt, sugar and vanilla sugar.

Then add the egg, soft butter and water.

Knead soft and elastic dough. Remove the dough in a bag and leave for 1 hour at room temperature.

While our dough is resting, let's do the filling. Dried fruits (prunes and dried apricots) pour over with boiling water and drain in a colander.

You can use any nuts, I used walnuts.

Peel the apple and cut into pieces.

Place dried fruits, apple, nuts and vanilla sugar in a blender bowl.

Punch the mass with a blender until smooth and the cookie filling is ready.

Roll out the dough with a rolling pin, like on dumplings. Cut out circles with a shot glass or thin glass.

Put a small amount of filling on the dough (in the center of each circle). Fasten the edges of each circle and form a dumpling.

Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper, lay out cookies with dried fruits and nuts. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the dumplings at 180 degrees for about 15 minutes (until golden brown).

Cool the finished cookies slightly, then transfer to a bag and add a couple of tablespoons of powdered sugar. Seal the bag and shake it well so that the cookies are completely covered with powder.
