Ingredients for 1 liter jar:

  • 250 g apricots;
  • 1 orange ring 0.6 - 1 cm thick;
  • 130 g sugar;
  • 750 ml water.

How to preserve apricot compote with Fanta orange for the winter:

For compotes, we choose beautiful apricots - after all, in jars they will be very visible and they need to look appetizing. I try to use slightly unripe or ripe but very firm apricots for this kind of preservation. If the apricots are still green, they will “cook” while cooking the compote; dense, ripe apricots will remain intact. But overripe fruits will be boiled, and the compote will have an unsightly appearance. Wash the apricots and place them in a colander to drain.

Wash the orange thoroughly and cut it into rings 0.6 - 1 cm thick. Cut each ring into 4 parts.

The next step is preparing the jars. We definitely sterilize them so that the compote does not spoil. You can sterilize jars in the oven and over steam. And immediately put apricots and orange slices into sterilized jars, while they are hot.

Now let's prepare the syrup. Pour sugar into boiling water and stir without removing from heat. We wait for the water to boil again and the sugar to completely dissolve. Let the syrup stand for another 2-3 minutes on low heat and pour it into the jars of apricots and oranges.

Now we need to sterilize the compote in jars. At the same time, we only cover the compote with lids, and do not close or twist them tightly. Place the jars in a large saucepan and pour warm water into it - enough so that it reaches the hangers of the jars. I almost forgot - first place a flat plate on the bottom of the pan or place a small towel so that the jars do not come into direct contact with the bottom. Otherwise, they may burst during the sterilization process. Place the pan on the fire and bring to a boil over high heat. Then reduce the heat slightly and sterilize for 20 minutes.

To preserve the compote, we select ripe, dense apricots of the correct shape, or perhaps slightly unripe ones (then they will not boil over in the compote, but will remain distinct halves). Apricots must have intact skin and no dents or crushes. Wash the fruits with running cold water and place in a colander to drain excess moisture.

We thoroughly rinse the orange with running water, preferably with a brush, to remove all dirt on its uneven surface. Dry the orange with a napkin. Cut the orange into thin slices and remove the seeds. Cut the orange rings into 2-4 parts. Remove pits from apricots.


We wash the jars in advance in a baking soda solution, rinse thoroughly and sterilize in any way convenient for you (steamed, in the oven or microwave). We place the sterilized jars on a clean towel upside down - this way they will remain absolutely clean until filled.

Wash the lids in a soda solution, rinse and boil for 4-5 minutes. Fill the jars with prepared apricots and orange slices. Cover with lids for now to prevent dust from getting into the jars.


Boil water and fill the jars to the very top.


Wrap the jars of compote with a blanket or blanket and set aside for 20 minutes.


Then carefully pour the water from the cans into the pan. It is convenient to do this using a special lid with holes. We cover the jars with apricots again with lids and wrap them up.


Bring the water drained from the cans to a boil, add sugar and, stirring, cook for a couple of minutes until the crystals are completely dissolved. Fill the jars with apricots with boiling syrup and immediately seal them hermetically - roll them up or screw them on. Turn the jars of compote upside down and wrap them up. Keep it like this until it cools completely.


This compote can be stored at room temperature, in a dark place.

Note to the owner:

  1. This compote can also be prepared from whole apricots, with pits. But in this case, it must be consumed during the winter (with longer storage, harmful substances are formed in the seeds). And drinking compote without seeds is much more pleasant.
  2. If you have a big sweet tooth, you can slightly increase the amount of sugar (by 20-30 g).
  3. If you close the compote in jars with a volume of 1.5,0 2 or 3 liters, you need to increase the amount of all ingredients by 1.5,0 2 or 3 times, respectively.

In principle, pasteurization is possible, but it delays the canning process, because each jar will have to be boiled in a water bath for at least 30 minutes. An autoclave will help speed up this process: five to six cans can be placed in it.
  4. Filling the jar. In order not to give pathogenic bacteria a chance to develop, they must be left without food. That is, without air. To do this, the jar of compote needs to be filled to capacity.
  5. Cooling down. At home, jars of compote should be left to cool slowly so that the liquid inside does not ferment. The optimal cooling time for a three-liter jar of compote, wrapped in a blanket, is one or two days.

  3. Fill the jar with boiling water and let it brew for 30-40 minutes.
  4. Drain the resulting liquid and boil again. Repeat this procedure again.
  5. Draining the third time is the final time; when the compote is almost boiling, you need to add sugar.
  6. Fill the jar, roll it up, wrap it in a blanket.

Fanta with honey

You will need to prepare two jars with a volume of three liters:

  • oranges, always juicy and ripe – 2 kg;
  • clean water - 4.5 liters;
