Pea soup with meatballs in a slow cooker

This dish does not require much time, it is very easy to prepare, especially in a slow cooker. Meatballs, as a rule, are molded in advance and go into the soup frozen. They should be frozen like dumplings - placed on one plane side by side, but so that one does not touch the other, put in the freezer, and when they are frozen, you can put them in bags.

It’s very convenient to make a lot of meatballs once, and then when preparing the soup, just take as many as you need and throw them in. To take less time to cook, it is better to make them smaller. In this recipe, both pork and beef are used to make meatballs, this will make them more interesting in taste. Also, when modeling, you can add a little white bread pulp, this will add softness.

Before adding peas to the broth, it is better for them to lie for several hours, or better yet overnight, in water. After this, it will increase in size and retain more nutrients.

Ingredients:

  • Pork – 300 gr.
  • Beef – 300 gr.
  • Peas (dry) – 2 cups
  • Chicken egg – 1 pc.
  • Potatoes – 3 pcs.
  • Onions – 1 pc.
  • Carrots – 1 pc.
  • Salt, spices - to taste.
  • Vegetable oil – needed for frying.

How to cook:

1 First you need to do the vegetables. Onions need to be chopped in any way convenient for you - with a food processor, blender, or you can just cut them.

2 We also peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes or bars.

3 Peeled carrots must be grated.

4 After soaking the peas in water for several hours, rinse them again.

5 Pour a little vegetable oil into the multicooker bowl. Fry carrots and onions on it.

6 You also need to add peas and potato pieces.

7 Then you need to fill everything with cold water, add spices and salt to taste. Then turn on the “Soup” mode and leave to cook.

8 . And at this time you can start eating meat. It needs to be ground into minced meat, mixed with a chicken egg and bread pulp. Add salt and spices to this.

9 After thoroughly mixing the resulting mixture, you can sculpt the meatballs themselves. We must not forget that being small in size, they will not delay the cooking process.

10 When the meatballs are formed, they can be added to the rest of the ingredients. Stir again and leave to cook.

11 After the multicooker notifies you that the dish is ready, you should not immediately take it out - it is better to turn on the “Warming” mode and let it brew for a while. During this time it will cool down a little to a pleasant temperature.

12 You can serve it with croutons; it will also be very tasty if you sprinkle it with your favorite herbs - dill, parsley, onion.

5 Add the finished meatballs to the vegetables. We put melted cheese on them. Then you need to fill everything with hot water. Fill to the maximum - to the highest mark.

6 Now you can add salt and spices. Here you like it - pepper, thyme. All that remains is to turn on the “Soup” mode for one hour and wait.

9 After finishing cooking, it is better to let the finished dish sit for about twenty minutes, and then you can serve.

Soup with meatballs in a slow cooker

I remember how as a child, when my mother was preparing soup with meatballs, I always wondered: why are there small cutlets floating in the soup?

And the beautiful, somehow foreign word “meatball” did not want to be remembered. I grew up, but using my mother’s recipe for this soup, I always remember my childhood surprise.

In general, it seems to me that many mothers fed their daughters and sons this first course. This is truly a recipe from childhood.

And if you still don’t know how to cook this dish, I suggest you immediately learn how to cook meatball soup in a slow cooker.

It’s not for nothing that this soup is considered for children. It turns out light, tender, and children really like meat balls, who are often not very willing to eat regular soup with meat.

This recipe does not require a large number of ingredients, and you can prepare this soup with meatballs in a slow cooker in almost 30-40 minutes.

By the way, there is more than one recipe for soup with meat hedgehogs, as children sometimes call meatballs. I cook it without grains, but with vegetables.

However, many housewives cook soup with rice or pasta. In my opinion, although such a soup recipe will make it more satisfying, it will deprive it of lightness and original taste.

Now take out the necessary products from the cupboard and refrigerator, we will cook the soup with meatballs in a slow cooker.

Now let's get down to business.

Step 1

Let's prepare the minced meat. If meat or prepared minced meat is frozen, it must be thawed. Grind the meat in a meat grinder.

Now peel and chop the onion. You can finely chop it with a knife, or you can crumble it in a blender.

Add the onion to the minced meat, add the egg, salt and ground black pepper.

Mix the mixture well.

Sometimes housewives, to prepare soup with meatballs, use the remains of the minced meat from which the meatballs were prepared. As you know, the recipe for these small cutlets involves making minced meat not only with onions, but also with rice. Alternatively, you can use this meat mass to make meatballs.

Step 2

We will make small balls from the finished minced meat, with a diameter of 2-3 cm, no more.

However, the soup recipe does not oblige you to roll minced meat balls. Some housewives simply pinch off pieces of minced meat and put them in the soup. Still, neat, uniform-sized meatballs look more aesthetically pleasing than chaotic, different-sized flakes of minced meat.

Step 3

Wash and peel the carrots. It also needs to be crushed. Most often, the vegetable is chopped on a coarse grater, less often - chopped with a knife into cubes or halves of round pieces. Grated carrots are preferable; they will add more color and flavor to the soup.

Step 4

Place the butter and vegetable oil in the multicooker bowl and heat it up. Then comes the carrots. It must be fried in a mixture of oils, as the recipe instructs. You can do this in the “frying” mode of your multicooker. Don't forget to stir so the vegetables don't burn.

Step 5

While the carrots are stewing, let's start with the potatoes. It also needs to be washed and peeled. Now cut it into medium sized cubes or rectangles.

Step 6

It's time to prepare some fresh herbs. It must be washed well and cut into pieces. We will add it at the very end of cooking the soup.

Step 7

When the carrots are well fried, add potatoes to them, add salt, spices, bay leaves and pour hot water from the kettle.

The water must be hot. Stir the broth and check if there is enough salt in it.

Step 8

Now you can transfer the stuck meatballs into the broth with vegetables.

Step 9

This is where our best help to the multicooker has ended; we shift all the worries about preparing the soup to it. To do this, close the oven lid, select the “soup” mode on the control panel, turn it on for 30 minutes and you can go about your business.

Step 10

When the multicooker beeps, take off the lid and see what happens. The finished meatballs will be on top, the potatoes will be cooked through, and the color of the broth will become rich, with a golden hue.

Now you need to sprinkle the soup with meatballs in a slow cooker with fresh herbs and leave the dish in a closed bowl for another 5 minutes so that the broth absorbs the aromas of summer and greenery.

You can serve the first thing to the table and enjoy a light, hot and very aromatic soup!

Watch another version of this dish in the video below:

I often cook healthy and healthy first courses. So today I decided to do it soup with meatballs in a slow cooker. My family loves it very much, it is tasty, but at the same time light and healthy. After all, this soup is prepared without frying vegetables. When preparing dishes in a slow cooker, they turn out more delicious than on the stove; they can be compared to those cooked in a Russian stove. The first and second courses turn out more rich, simmered - simply delicious! Try to cook healthy dishes for your loved ones - believe me, it is very tasty, and most importantly healthy.

Ingredients:

  • minced meat – 500 g
  • potatoes – 3 – 4 pcs.
  • onion – 1 pc.
  • carrots – 1 pc.
  • rice – 3 tbsp. spoons
  • salt and spices to taste
  • egg (minced) – 1 pc.

Meatball soup in a slow cooker:

Beat the egg into the minced meat, add salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly. Roll the minced meat into meatballs of the size you need.

Peel the potatoes, wash and cut into cubes. Peel the carrots, wash and grate on a coarse grater. Peel and wash the onion.

Place potatoes, carrots, onions and meatballs in a multicooker bowl. I chop the onion coarsely, but this is not necessary, cut it the way you prefer.

If you plan to cook soup with meatballs with “frying”, then you need to fry the onions and carrots in vegetable oil in the “baking” mode. Then add potatoes and meatballs to the fried vegetables.

Add salt and sprinkle with herbs to taste (I used a mixture of Provençal herbs). Add bay leaf.

Pour in water (my soup is filled with boiling water).

Close the lid. Set the “quenching” mode for 1 hour. Usually 40 minutes of “stewing” is enough for this, but you can cook for an hour.

20 minutes before the end of cooking, pour washed rice into the soup (rice is added as desired, it can be added immediately with potatoes, but it often boils over).

Meatball soup in a slow cooker stir and cook until the end of the set time.

Do you know how to get a very rich soup in a slow cooker? The secret is simple - put more food in the bowl than you usually put in the pan. In a slow cooker, the cooking process occurs under pressure, which means the ingredients are cooked faster. That's a plus. But for the same reason the broth remains less saturated. This is a minus. Therefore, it is worth adding more products in general and spices – seasonings in particular. Let's look at the example of soup with meatballs in a slow cooker - how to cook it using this device. One recipe will be detailed, with step-by-step photos so that the principle is clear, and then there will be more options that will have one thing in common - meat balls and kitchen appliances. And by the way, it can be different. Therefore, there will be recipes for a multicooker-pressure cooker and for the standard “Steam” mode.

Meatball soup - step-by-step recipe with photos in a slow cooker

Attention! This recipe is for a pressure cooker.

Ingredients:

  • beef – 500g;
  • potatoes – 3-4 pcs;
  • onion – 1 head;
  • carrots – 1 piece;
  • millet – 2 tbsp;
  • spices (suneli hops, dried Provençal herbs, bay leaves, peppercorns) - to taste;
  • salt - to taste.

How to make meatball soup in a slow cooker:

  1. We grind the beef in a meat grinder. Salt and pepper the minced meat. There is no need to add anything else to it.

  2. We form small balls. 3-3.5 centimeters will be enough.
  3. Peel and wash the onions and carrots. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater.

  4. Peel the potatoes and cut into medium-sized pieces.
  5. First place the potatoes in the multicooker bowl.
  6. Then a layer of carrots.
  7. When cooking meatballs in a multicooker-pressure cooker, we place them in the bowl immediately, unlike in a multicooker without this function.
  8. If you and your family are comfortable with boiled onions, then you can finely chop them and put them on the carrots. I put in a whole onion. It will give off the aroma and taste to the broth and we will remove it later.
  9. Add all spices and salt. Adjust the quantity to your liking. Usually a small pinch of each dry spice, one bay leaf and 3-4 peppercorns are enough.
  10. Pour water. Its quantity depends on the model of the device. I have 2 liters here.

  11. And add millet.
  12. Close the lid and turn on the “Soup” mode. And that’s it – you can go and do other things for now. The slow cooker will do the rest for you.
  13. When you hear the ready signal, do not rush to remove the bowl and pour it onto plates. Let it stand in the heating mode for about 20 minutes, so it will infuse and the taste will be even richer.

Using the same principle, you can cook soup with any meatballs. How to make them - see.

Soup with potatoes, rice in the “Frying” and “Steaming” modes of the multicooker

For those who like the so-called “roasting” - sautéed vegetables, you need to cook in two modes. And for this, a regular model is suitable, not a pressure cooker, and it may not even have a special mode for cooking soup. It is better to take short-grain rice for soup. Varieties that boil quickly, for example, “Krasnodar”.

Ingredients:

  • minced meat (pork + beef) – 400g;
  • potatoes – 4 pcs;
  • carrots – 1 piece;
  • onion – 1 piece;
  • rice – 40g;
  • sunflower oil – 2 tbsp;
  • spices - to taste;
  • salt - to taste;
  • tomato paste – 1 tbsp;
  • fresh herbs - for serving.

How to cook meatball soup in a slow cooker:

  1. Roll the minced meat into small balls and leave aside for now.
  2. Peel the onion and chop finely.
  3. Wash the carrots, peel and grate.
  4. We also peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes.
  5. Pour oil into the multicooker bowl. Turn on the “Frying” mode. Add carrots and onions.
  6. Fry a little until the onion is transparent, then add tomato paste and fry for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add potatoes, washed rice, spices and salt.
  8. Pour cold water and turn on the “Steam” mode, and set the time to 20 minutes.
  9. After this period of time, after the signal, open the lid and add the meatballs.
  10. We turn on the same mode again and the time is 5 minutes. But we don’t close the lid. Because during cooking of the meat balls, foam will form and it must be skimmed off, otherwise the broth will be cloudy and not beautiful.
  11. When the signal sounds again, add finely chopped greens. Cover the lid and let stand for a couple of minutes.

You can serve the soup with white bread croutons if desired.

From this composition of ingredients you can prepare a dietary soup using only “Steaming” or “Soup”, then it can be given even to small children. But you can also pre-fry the vegetables as in the previous recipe - the choice is yours.

Ingredients:

  • minced chicken – 300g;
  • potatoes – 1-2 pcs;
  • vermicelli (or thin long noodles) – 100g;
  • carrots – 1 piece;
  • onion – 1 pc (optional);
  • bay leaf – 1 piece;
  • salt - to taste.

Cooking process:

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes.
  2. If you sauté carrots and onions in oil, they must be finely chopped. For soup without sautéing, cut the carrots into circles and the onion into cubes.
  3. We make meatballs from minced meat.
  4. First, put carrots, potatoes and onions in a container. Pour two liters of water.
  5. Turn on the “Steam” mode and set the time to 20 minutes. The countdown will begin after the water boils.
  6. After the signal, open the lid and add the meatballs. Turn on “Cooking” again and set the time to 10 minutes. Without closing, wait for the foam to form and remove it.
  7. Salt and add spices.
  8. 3 minutes before the end of cooking, add the vermicelli. Let's close. After the signal, we do not open it, let it sit for 5 minutes while heating.

And that’s it – the soup is ready! You can invite everyone for lunch.
