Lavash roll with crab sticks in the oven

Thin Armenian lavash rolls have become frequent guests on our tables and a worthy alternative to other snacks. They are easy and quick to prepare, but I haven’t done it often. Why? I don’t like it when the top layer of pita bread becomes too wet from the filling. After experimenting a little, I found a way out of the situation.

Ingredients:

  • 1 thin pita bread
  • 5 chicken eggs
  • 200 g crab sticks
  • 1 can of canned fish in oil (mackerel, sardine, tuna)
  • mayonnaise
  • bunch of dill

Preparation:

  1. So, let's start preparing the filling. Place four chicken eggs in a saucepan to cook. Grind the crab sticks using a fine grater. To make this easy and simple, you don’t need to defrost them much.
  2. Hard-boiled and cooled eggs, also three on the same grater. You can simply mash canned fish with a fork, but I don’t like bones in the filling, so I put the fish pieces in a blender. Turned it into a paste-like homogeneous mass.
  3. Add canned paste and mayonnaise to eggs and crab sticks. There should be enough mayonnaise so that the filling is not dry, but not too liquid.
  4. The last but not least important ingredient in the filling is dill. Wash it, chop it finely, add it to the rest of the ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  5. This is what should happen in the end: Spread the pita bread on the table and spread the filling on it in a savory layer. Then roll it up and place it in a mold or on a baking sheet.
  6. Beat one chicken egg (remember, we still had it raw?) with a fork. Lubricate the roll with this egg and send it to a cold oven to bake at 150-180 degrees. During baking, I brushed the roll with egg twice more for a golden brown crust. After 20-30 minutes the roll is ready.
  7. The advantage of this preparation is the golden brown crust and juicy filling inside. The downside is that it will take a little longer to cook, but it's worth it. Our family liked the roll both hot and cold.

  • 4-5 spoons of sour cream
  • 2-3 spoons of ketchup
  • salt, pepper to taste

Preparation:

  1. Oh, how I love simple dishes! And also so that the result turns out to be worthy!
  2. She laid out the pita bread on the board, added a couple of spoons of sour cream and ketchup to it, scattered it with a spoon over the entire surface, without leaving a single empty space. She grated the cheese and evenly sprinkled it on the spread lavash.
  3. I cut the sausage into cubes, laid out the sausage in neat strips at a distance of 5 centimeters from each other. I cut the pepper. I supplemented the display on the pita bread with pepper strips. I cut the tomato into cubes. I artistically sprinkled this with tomatoes. Salt pepper.

  5. I stuffed and rolled the second pita bread. I placed my two friends on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. I greased the tops with sour cream and placed the baking sheet in a preheated oven for 25 minutes.

Lavash roll with cabbage in the oven

Thin Armenian lavash is a godsend for any cook. Using it as a ready-made dough, you can prepare a lot of delicacies, both sweet and savory - pies, casseroles, rolls and other wide variety of snacks. In my opinion, a huge advantage of lavash is that heat treatment is not always necessary - if the filling is completely ready for use, the roll does not have to go into the oven.

Ingredients:

  • Thin lavash - 200 g
  • Stewed cabbage - 200 g
  • Onions - 2 pcs.
  • Cheese - 150 g
  • Tomato paste - 1 tbsp. l.
  • Boiling water - 2 tbsp. l.

  • Pepper mixture - 0.3 tsp.
  • Salt - 2 pinches

Preparation:

  1. Sauté the onions in a frying pan heated with sunflower oil.
  2. I also added a mixture of peppers and salt.
  3. When the onion became translucent, added tomato paste, poured boiling water, and simmered over medium heat under the lid for a couple of minutes.
  4. Combined onions with stewed cabbage. Added coarsely grated cheese. Mixed the mass thoroughly.
  5. It's time to taste the salt. I didn’t add any - I salted the cabbage during stewing, just like the onions, and I chose salted cheese initially
  6. I put the filling on the pita bread and rolled it into a roll. I placed both rolls in the mold. Bake at 200°C for 15 minutes.
  7. Let it cool a little. Cut it into small pieces.

Lavash roll baked in the oven

I call pita bread a genius invention because it can be used in or with all types of dishes: from soups to desserts. Lavash rolls have long been loved and popular in our kitchen. Most often, cold rolls are prepared with different types of fillings. I would like to offer you a roll baked in the oven, which can be served hot as a main course, and cold as an appetizer.

Ingredients:

  • Armenian lavash,
  • boiled turkey ham,
  • eggs,
  • Bell pepper,
  • green onions,
  • sour cream.

Preparation:

  1. Boil the eggs hard, peel and grate them on a coarse grater. We cut the ham very, very finely. Also finely chop the bell pepper. And green onions.
  2. Combine all the prepared ingredients, add grated cheese. You don’t need to add salt; in my experience, the salt found in ham and cheese is enough.
  3. Season the filling with sour cream to add juiciness. I have a large lavash 70x40 cm, I cut it into 2 parts. Grease the pita bread with sour cream, beaten with egg.
  4. We distribute the filling over the pita bread; it is convenient to do this with a culinary scraper or spatula. Roll up the roll. We do the same with the second half of the pita bread.
  5. Place the rolls in a mold or on a greased baking sheet. Brush the tops of the rolls with the egg-sour cream mixture. Bake in the oven until browned at 180°C. My oven is slow, it took a whole hour, but on average maybe 45-50 minutes.
  6. Remove the hot rolls from the oven, cut into portions and serve hot. Can be supplemented with fresh vegetables or salad. Use the cooled roll as a snack.

Baked lavash roll with minced meat

Oven-baked lavash roll with minced meat and cheese is such a wonderful dish that it is highlighted in color in my recipe journal. This meatloaf is prepared in a few minutes. The taste is simply delicious, the ingredients are inexpensive and accessible, and the dish itself can even be served at a festive table. To be honest, this is one of my favorite lifesavers in case of unexpected guests. And family members often ask to bake a roll. It’s just better to prepare a double or triple portion at once, so that there is enough for everyone.

Ingredients:

  • minced meat – 350 g
  • chicken egg – 2 pcs.
  • mixture of Provencal herbs - 1 tbsp.
  • salt – 1/2 tsp.
  • lavash – 1 sheet
  • ketchup or tomato sauce – 2 tbsp.
  • mayonnaise – 1 tbsp.
  • hard cheese – 100 g
  • butter – 2 tbsp.
  • fresh or dried dill - to taste

Preparation:

  1. Let's prepare the filling. Place fresh or defrosted minced meat in a deep bowl and beat in the eggs. If you use minced pork, the roll will be more satisfying. Chicken or beef will make the dish more tender and dietary. We also send salt and a mixture of dry herbs there.
  2. If you like other seasonings, you can use them - it's a matter of taste. Mix the contents of the bowl well. Unroll a sheet of pita bread on a flat surface. Lubricate it with tomato sauce and mayonnaise. Try not to overdo it with the quantity - the roll will be juicy anyway.
  3. It is convenient to use a silicone brush. Now add the prepared filling. The layer should look like in the photo - no more than 1 cm thick. Sprinkle the minced meat with cheese grated on a fine grater. Here, the more, the better. A little tip: if you are preparing a double or triple portion, then stack the pita breads on top of each other.
  4. This way it will be convenient to prepare the rolls one at a time - you roll one and you can immediately work on the next one. We wrap the pita bread with minced meat so that it is quite dense. We bend the edges inward - this way it looks neater and the juice won’t leak out of the roll.
  5. Grease a baking dish suitable for baking with vegetable oil. Place the stuffed pita bread in a circle in the shape of a snail. Generously cover the entire surface of the pita bread with softened butter. Thanks to this, an incredibly appetizing crispy and crispy crust is formed on the roll.
  6. Bake in the oven at 220 degrees. After 30-35 minutes, the treat is ready. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with dill and, after cutting, serve. This roll is equally good hot or cold.

Quick recipe for lavash roll in the oven

  • 1 large onion
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 1 egg
  • a little milk or heavy cream, optional
  • salt, pepper and herbs to taste
  • lettuce or parsley leaves for garnish

Preparation:

  1. This lavash roll with minced meat is prepared in the oven very simply, and most importantly - quickly. First prepare the minced meat. To do this, chop the onion very finely or even pass it through a garlic press, after cutting it into 6-8 pieces. Combine the onion with the minced meat, then salt, pepper and add a pinch of nutmeg. Read more:
  2. Remember that ground beef is a little tough, at least it's definitely tougher than pork. Therefore, you can soften the ground beef by adding 1-2 tbsp. milk or heavy cream. You can also soften the hardness of minced beef by grinding the meat twice through a meat grinder, or once if you bought the minced meat ready-made.
  3. Place the cooked minced meat on Armenian lavash, preferably along the long edge, and then roll it into a roll. Grease a baking dish with oil, place the roll in it and brush it with beaten egg.
  4. Bake at 180C for 30 minutes. Then cool the pita roll with minced meat slightly, cut into rings and serve on a wide dish, garnished with parsley or lettuce leaves.
  5. You can do it a little differently. After you have rolled the roll, immediately cut it into circles, dip it in the egg and fry in a frying pan on both sides. But then it won’t be a lavash roll in the oven, but a lavash roll with minced meat in a frying pan!
  6. It turns out to be a wonderful, tasty dish that can be prepared even in nature. In this case, you will already have a lavash roll with grilled minced meat. A wonderful appetizer while the main course – shish kebab – is being prepared. After all, in nature, as a rule, there is a very good appetite, and everything is eaten.

Recipes for lavash in the oven are a real find for a good housewife who knows how to surprise her guests and please her family. The site has a lot of options for all kinds of sweet rolls and rolls with meat products, cheese, cabbage, cottage cheese, pies with mushrooms and minced meat, strudels, lasagnas, envelopes, tartlets and even pita dumplings. As well as other interesting dishes.

The choice of pita bread for a dish must be approached very responsibly; the taste of the future dish and ease of preparation largely depend on it. When preparing rolls, for example, you should not use over-dried one, otherwise it will break when you try to roll it. You should also not take pita bread that is not fried enough. This will not store well and will quickly become moldy.

The five most commonly used ingredients in pita bread recipes are:

Interesting recipe:
1. Fry the onion cut into half rings.
