And after this little trick, my relationship with squid has improved significantly. Thanks to this minimal processing, stewed squid with onions and carrots prepare for five to seven minutes... And this cannot but rejoice.

I defrost the squids (not in the microwave!). Then I put the kettle on and, while it boils, I peel the onions and carrots. After the kettle boils, I put the squid meat in a small saucepan and pour it with boiling water, close the lid. While the squid is “boiling”, rub the carrots on a coarse grater, finely chop onion. I fry the vegetables in a skillet with vegetable oil until soft.

Salt and pepper to my husband's taste (this means a lot of salt and pepper).

I add squid meat to the vegetables, stir, cover the pan with a lid and turn off the heat. They cannot be stewed together, otherwise the meat will become tough. The dish should sweat under the lid for another ten minutes. Only then can you remove the lid and serve.

I consider stewed squid as the main course, but they can also be regarded as a hot appetizer. This is the choice of the hostess herself.
