  • 13 medium potatoes;
  • 3 eggs;
  • 1 large onion;
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic;
  • some minced meat;
  • 5-6 tbsp. spoons of milk powder or vegetable cream;
  • 2-3 tbsp. spoons of vegetable oil;
  • salt and pepper to taste.

Peel the potatoes, rinse them in cold water and grate them on a coarse grater.

Mom suggested we deviate a little from the traditional recipe and add some minced meat to our pancakes! I really liked this idea - it turned out much tastier and more satisfying!

Add eggs, minced meat, milk powder, salt and pepper to the grated potatoes. Please note there is no flour in this recipe! I know a lot of people who also add flour to potato pancakes. On the one hand, flour holds our potato pancakes together more; they become more uniform in consistency. On the other hand, flour makes potato pancakes lose their potato taste, become more like ordinary pancakes, and their appearance is unattractive (they take on a slightly bluish color).
