A glass of tasty cool soda... Sometimes you really want to enjoy the taste of sweet water with gases, familiar from childhood. You can, of course, go to any store and buy a ready-made product. But often the quality and taste of the drink do not meet expectations. In this case, soda recipes that can be prepared at home will come to the rescue. This will require a minimum of time and a simple set of available ingredients.

Method 1

You will need:

  • Water - 1 l.;
  • Baking soda - 2-3 tsp;
  • Citric acid - 5 tsp;
  • Powdered sugar - 5-6 tsp;
  • Lemon.

Mix soda and citric acid, crush well. You should get a homogeneous powder without lumps. Pour powdered sugar into the mixture. Add powder to water. You can add a little lemon juice to the finished drink. It is best to drink it chilled.

You can diversify the taste by mixing the powder with fruit drink or fruit juice.

Method 2

We will need:

  • Cold water - 4 liters;
  • Warm water - 200 ml;
  • Sugar sand - 100-150 g;
  • Brewer's or bread yeast - 1 tbsp.

Add yeast to a bowl of warm water. Wait 10-15 minutes until they dissolve. Then put sugar into the mixture, mix thoroughly until it is completely dissolved. Next, send the yeast composition to cold water and mix the solution thoroughly. Pour the liquid into a special container, close the lid and place in a dark place for 4-5 days. The drink is ready!

Method 3

Ingredients:

  • Water - 1 l.;
  • Berry juice or fruit drink - 100 ml;
  • Vinegar - 100 ml;
  • Soda - 2 tsp

Cool the water and mix with juice or fruit drink. Pour the liquid into the bottle, lower the tube into it and close the lid. Place baking soda and vinegar in a second container and follow the same procedure. Connect two containers with a tube: carbon dioxide formed during a chemical reaction can circulate through it. For the formation of "gas" you need to shake both bottles for 10 minutes. Carbonated water should be cooled and you can enjoy the taste.

Method 4

To prepare soda, you need to take:

  • Water - 1 l.;
  • Syrup from any berries - to taste
  • Dry ice.

If you can buy dry ice, then making soda is not a big deal. To do this, stir the syrup in water and add a small cube of dry ice to it. Proceed with caution: do not touch the ice with your hands, you can injure yourself.

Making soda at home is quite simple. Try one of the suggested options: you will definitely like the taste.

Every mother has probably faced more than once with her child's requests to buy a jar of bright carbonated drink. After all, it's so tasty and fun when the bubbles tickle the tongue. But what is contained in these bottles is even scary to imagine. Isn't it better to just learn how to make soda at home and spoil your child with it?

The "Pip" Theory

Before trying to make carbonated water at home, you need to understand its composition. What are the usual Fanta, Sprite or Baikal drink made of? If you take out all the substances with a terrible prefix "E" from the list - preservatives, dyes, flavor enhancers and carcinogens, then there will not be so many ingredients left: ordinary filtered water and carbon dioxide. The latter is just responsible for creating the pop. CO2 does not dissolve and does not sink in water, moreover, it is able to give the drink a characteristic sour taste.

It was on this principle of operation that the notorious soda machines were built in the Soviet Union. Remember these remarkable devices, where you could buy a glass of mineral water or water with syrup for only 3 kopecks? Inside these machines was a conventional cylinder of carbon dioxide.

Today, you can make a fizzy drink using stationary home devices - siphons. They are built from three components: a plastic case, a CO2 tank and a water tank. Pour ordinary filtered water into a bottle, screw it into the device, press the start button - and sparkling mineral water is ready! Surprisingly, the number of bubbles is also controlled by you.

But even if you don’t have such a device, and it’s a pity to spend money on buying it, don’t worry - there are several options for making a carbonated drink. And they will be discussed further.

The first and most accessible of the options is to make a fizz using a chemical reaction of vinegar and soda. By the way, in this way, craftsmen make flying balloons at home, which are filled with helium in the store version. Although, to tell the truth, before enjoying a carbonated drink, you will have to work a little, or even call on your husband for help.

Composition and necessary materials:

  • 2 plastic bottles with a cap;
  • transparent tube;
  • scissors;
  • paper towels;
  • vinegar;
  • baking soda;
  • some water;
  • drill.

Description of the cooking process:

  • Using a drill, make holes in the center of each cover for a tube.

  • Take the tube and cut off the ends at an angle on each side to make it easier to slide it into the bottle.

  • While holding the end of the tube, carefully insert it into the hole in the lid. Lower one end a few centimeters into the bottle, the other almost to the very bottom.

  • Pour the drink you want to carbonate into one of the bottles. Fill a second container 1/3 full with vinegar.

  • Tear off a piece of paper towel and sprinkle 1 tbsp. l. soda. Wrap the paper in an envelope and dip it into a bottle of vinegar.

  • Screw the caps on both bottles tightly and wait for the reaction to complete.

  • Then you can throw away the bottle of vinegar, and pour the carbonated drink into a glass and enjoy its taste.

This world-famous drink, contrary to popular belief, was invented not at all in the USA, but in Germany during the war period. Then, due to the embargo imposed by Hitler, the import of syrup for the preparation of Coca-Cola became impossible, and the chemist Max Kite came up with a new drink, which consisted of apple waste and whey. Time has passed, technologies have changed, and today Fanta is delivered to customers with an orange flavor.

If your kids are very fond of such a delicacy, we suggest a little pampering them. How to make orange pop at home, you will learn from the recipe below.

Compound:

  • 3 oranges;
  • 100 g of sugar;
  • 1.5 liters of water;
  • a pack of yeast for cider or champagne.

Cooking:

  • Prepare all the necessary ingredients in advance, plus a small enamel saucepan.

  • On a fine grater, remove the zest from one orange and add it to the other ingredients in a saucepan.

  • Boil a thick syrup from the resulting mixture over low heat and cool it.
  • Squeeze the juice from the remaining oranges into a glass and strain the ready-cooled sugar syrup there.

  • Fill a two-liter bottle with clean filtered water so that it is about 2/3 full.
  • In a thin stream, pour the yeast intended for the production of cider into the bottle. You can buy these in the culinary departments.

  • Now add sugar syrup mixed with orange juice to the same place.

  • Close the cap and shake the bottle vigorously. Leave the container to infuse at room temperature for a period of 12 to 48 hours.
  • After the specified time, the drink can be slightly cooled and poured into glasses, garnished with an orange slice.

Drink with sourness

And in the last recipe, you will learn how to make soda from soda and citric acid. This method is as simple as making a drink out of vinegar and soda. But the advantage of it is that you do not need male help, since all the steps are quite simple. Shall we start?

Compound:

  • 3 tsp soda;
  • 6 tsp lemons;
  • 2 tbsp. l. powdered sugar;
  • water.

Cooking:

  1. In a small and completely dry bowl, mix all ingredients except water.
  2. Thoroughly knead everything with a mortar so that the consistency of crumbly fine flour is obtained.
  3. Pour the contents of the bowl into a jar and close the lid.
  4. If necessary, make a fizzy drink, take 2 teaspoons of the mixture and dilute them in a glass of water, homemade compote, berry juice or fruit syrup.
  5. The finished effervescent mixture in a closed jar can be stored for no more than 30 days.

Now you know how to make soda at home and you can experiment with it. The main thing is that all options are quite simple, and the ingredients for the recipes are available. So homemade sparkling water will cost you no more than a store-bought version, but it will be much more useful. Drink soda with pleasure and be healthy!

The other day I thought, but homemade soda, it's real. It's summer now, it's hot and you want to drink and drink, so it was decided to make homemade soda with your own hands at home. I already feel the sarcastic smiles of some and their thoughts about the fact that sparkling water is easier to buy in the store. I agree, but since the site is called “How to do it yourself,” we try to do it ourselves.

I already told how to make bread kvass at home which quenches thirst well, but requires a day to prepare

Homemade soda is made faster, and you can make it according to your own recipes and tastes.

Let's start with some theory and history. Making sparkling water is very easy. To do this, add CO2 to the water.

Its main properties are: colorless, odorless, non-flammable, heavier than air, soluble in water and sour in taste.

Those who found the Soviet era, and soda machines on the streets, remember them with great warmth. There was a large cylinder of carbon dioxide in them and the gas was dissolved under pressure in water.

There is also a way to make homemade soda using a siphon and carbon dioxide canisters. These siphons are still being sold, but they cost a lot. As you can see, to make soda at home, you need water and carbon dioxide. There are no problems with water, but where to get carbon dioxide?

How to make your own homemade soda

Carbon dioxide can be made from something that can always be found in the kitchen. It's baking soda and vinegar. When they are mixed, carbon dioxide, water and salt are obtained. If you know how to cook, then you know that in some recipes it is customary to quench soda with vinegar and it is carbon dioxide that makes the dough soft and porous during baking.

Therefore, to make homemade soda, we prepare:

  • Baking soda - 2 teaspoons
  • Vinegar 9% - 7 tablespoons
  • Plastic bottles -2 pcs (preferably dark beer bottles)
  • Water - 1 - 1.2 liters per 1.5 bottle
  • PVC tube - 1 meter
  • Bottle caps - 2 pcs with tube holes

The tube is a cambric, taken from a television cable.

The tube should sit tightly in the lids and not let gas through in these places. To do this, we make holes in the covers smaller than the diameter of the tube and retract it with force.

This bottle will contain water for homemade soda. And in another container we will mix vinegar with soda. In order for the reaction to be with some delay, we wrap the soda in a paper towel and add it to the bottle of vinegar. Therefore, before the gas is released, we will have time to close the lid and not lose part of the carbon dioxide.

In the photo above, instead of a napkin, I used a plastic bag, pouring baking soda through a funnel and cutting off the top.

While mixing carbon dioxide and water, the water bottle should be shaken well for 3-4 minutes. I have too much water for homemade soda in the photo, please note that you need less.

Thus, I managed to make my own carbonated water or homemade lightly carbonated soda.

because

I would like to warn you about safety precautions.

It is better to use dark bottles, without scratches, they withstand more pressure than light ones. In no case, when repeating, do not increase amount soda and vinegar. If there is too much gas, the bottle may explode with a violent pop and damage the eardrums, fingers, and eyes. This is well described in the video using liquid nitrogen as an example.

Over time, I think, I will improve the recipe for making homemade soda with my own hands easier and safer, but this requires devices and experiments, so for now I am publishing this slightly carbonated method.

1. Without using a siphon

w-dog.net

You will need:

  • 2 teaspoons of soda;
  • 2 teaspoons of citric acid;
  • 1 glass of water;
  • sugar - to taste;
  • syrup.

Mix citric acid and pour over with a mixture of water, sugar and syrup, add ice and drink as quickly as possible. Citric acid will react with soda, bubbles will appear. If the taste seems too strong, reduce the amount of soda and citric acid.

Of course, such lemonade will not be carbonated for long, but as a fun experiment, you can try it. Plus, it's fast and inexpensive.

2. Using a homemade siphon

You will need:

  • 2 plastic bottles;
  • awl;
  • 2 stoppers;
  • a small hose or flexible tube;
  • the spoon;
  • funnel
  • 1 cup of vinegar;
  • 1 cup baking soda;
  • any liquid.

Make holes in two covers, tightly fix the hose in them. Calculate so that one end of the hose almost touches the bottom of the bottle. Pour the liquid you want to carbonate into one of the bottles and close it tightly. The hose should go as deep as possible into your future lemonade.

Pour soda into the second bottle through a funnel, fill it with vinegar and quickly close the second cap. If you hear a hiss and see the mixture bubbling, you've done it right. If the vinegar and baking soda don't react strongly enough, shake the bottle. This will enhance the response.

The gas will go through the hose, saturating the lemonade with carbon dioxide. If the connection is leaky, you will get a slightly carbonated drink.

You can carbonate any water-based drink, but it's best not to experiment with coffee and tea. On average, a liter bottle of water can be carbonated in 15–20 minutes. Of course, the process of creating a siphon will take time, but it will not be wasted.

3. Using a purchased siphon

The siphon can be ordered online or searched in stores. Now there is a large selection of plastic and metal soda siphons, even with drawings. So finding one that fits into will be easy.

The principle of operation of a purchased siphon is the same as that of a home-made one, only compressed gas cartridges must be purchased separately. And if you find a vintage siphon, it will not only help to carbonate water, but also serve as a stylish piece of furniture.

Soda was first discovered in the 2nd half of the 19th century. She really liked it and has not left store shelves since that time. In the last century, carbonated water was called soda and was purchased from vending machines. Today it is easy to get it in any store. But not everyone knows that making soda at home is also not difficult. Cooking will take a matter of minutes, and as a result, you can get more than one liter of thirst-quenching drink.

How to make sparkling water from ordinary?

To do this, there are several certainly not difficult methods. It turns out that in order to prepare a drink you need to take a mineral water and mix it with soda and citric acid.

Would need:

  • a teaspoon of soda;
  • part of a lemon, so that 2 teaspoons of lemon juice come out, or simple citric acid - half a spoon;
  • pour soda into a glass and extinguish it with lemon juice;
  • those who love flavors or simply want to sweeten sparkling water can add cane or light sugar. If you add caramelized sugar, you get the taste of cola. And if you pour in a little topping, it will come out no worse than any other sugary water from the store. If you put a slice of lemon directly into the liquid, you get lemonade.

At home, it is also easy to make soda and other methods.

Method number 1

This recipe is great for making large portions of sparkling water.

First, mix everything for the powder:

  • baking soda - enough 3 incomplete teaspoons;
  • five teaspoons of powdered sugar, perhaps a little more or a little less, depending on your taste preferences;
  • citric acid - 6 tablespoons (tea);
  • We fall asleep all the ingredients, in addition to powdered sugar, in a container, mix and crush. The mixture should actually be ground to a powder state;
  • add powdered sugar;
  • stir the whole mixture again.

After the mixture is ready, pour it into the liquid.

An equally fascinating taste of a drink prepared at home will turn out if you pour the powder mixture with fruit drink or juice. Everyone probably remembers a large number of sugary sodas in the store - now you have a wonderful chance to prepare a similar one in a satisfied volume yourself!

Method number 2

This method is for those who want to learn how to make a liter of sparkling water by adding vinegar to the composition.

You will need:

  • 2 bottles that can be closed with lids and combined with tubes;
  • table vinegar - 100 ml;
  • a liter of ordinary water (more is allowed, but then increase the rest of the proportions);
  • two small spoons of soda

When all the ingredients are prepared, pour the liquid into the 1st container and lower the tube into it. Close the lid tightly. Pour soda and vinegar into the 2nd bottle. We seal, like the 1st bottle.

The tube for the transition of carbon dioxide is installed at the top. Shake the liquid in bottles for 5-7 minutes.

Thus, at home, carbon dioxide is released and saturates the liquid, making it carbonated. After cooking, it is desirable to cool the drink. Remember that cooler than any such drink quenches thirst if drunk cold.

Method number 3

An interesting method to make a carbonated drink at home is the method using already prepared carbon dioxide.

For this you will need:

  • prepared carbon dioxide;
  • mineral water;
  • siphon.
  • the siphon container is filled with liquid (preferably chilled - for effective saturation with carbon dioxide) and tightly closed;
  • a carbon dioxide cylinder is connected to charging;
  • the valve is opened. When each carbon dioxide has already got into the siphon, unscrew the bottle and close it;
  • soda is ready!

Method number 4

At home, it is also allowed to prepare a carbonated drink by fermentation.

To do this, do the following:

  • Prepare;
    • about 4 liters of chilled and a glass of warm water;
    • half a glass of sugar;
    • a tablespoon of yeast. In the same case, if there is no bread yeast at hand, it is allowed to use beer yeast, but with a much smaller dosage - at the tip of a teaspoon;
    • to taste it is allowed to pour a teaspoon of natural flavoring.

    It can be a concentrated liquid: fruit drink, lemonade and more, or herbs: tarragon or mint.

  • Add yeast and dissolve in warm water. For complete dissolution, leave them to brew for 5-10 minutes;
  • In a bowl, mix together the dissolved yeast with sugar and flavoring. Pour in the cold liquid little by little and stir until the sugar and other ingredients are dissolved;
  • Pour the resulting drink into bottles and close them;
  • Store in a dark place for 5 days. At this time, the liquid ferments, therefore, the covers must be periodically unscrewed and screwed on again;
  • After 5 days, move the bottles to the refrigerator;
  • Ready to use!
  • For those who want to experiment and get a store-bought taste of the drink, we recommend adding lemonade, uzvar, fruit drink, or any kind of juice. It is allowed to achieve results and flavorings.

    However, not everyone can drink an intense carbonic acid liquid. Therefore, it is reasonable to find out how to make still water from sparkling water?

    There are 2 main methods to get still water:

    • shake and leave open in a warm place;
    • pass a jet of oxygen (pure nitrogen) through the liquid - this "blows out" carbon dioxide.

    Doing both manipulations is certainly not difficult. Water saturated with carbon dioxide is natural and unnatural. Let's say right away that naturally intense is an extremely rare phenomenon.

    But we all know how appetizing! Therefore, try the above methods and choose your favorite!
