I repeat buffalo wings maybe twice a month and we always eat them with pleasure. This time I was also going to make them, but my husband, seconded to the store, instead of sour buttermilk (buttermilk) for some reason bought heavy whipping cream (heavy whipping cream, ???) Oh, the paths of neural impulses in the brains of husbands are inscrutable. The wings were already defrosted, I did not want to go to the store again, and therefore it was decided to marinate the wings in something else. I just had a beer left, so here it is.

I spied a beer marinade (Brazilian!) However, there it was used for chicken breasts. The wings turned out great too: very soft, tender, juicy, and also a magnificent reddish-brown color. There was no beer in them, but ginger, garlic and hot peppers were well felt. So, I think everyone who loves marinades with these ingredients will like the dish. Hand on heart, I’ll say that “buffalo wings” are still a little more soulful, but this recipe is also very good.

Ingredients:

10 large chicken wings

For marinade:

quarter of a medium onion

3 cloves of garlic

1 small hot jalapeno pepper

a piece of fresh ginger root, about 2 cm long

1 tsp Dijon mustard

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp ground black pepper

1/4 tsp ground paprika

2 tbsp olive oil

1 glass of dark beer

For submission:

sliced fresh celery and carrots

Ranch or Blue cheese dipping sauces (optional)

Chop the onion and hot pepper very finely. Pass the garlic through a press. We clean the ginger root and three on a fine grater.

Combine all marinade ingredients and mix.

We cut the wings into three parts along the joints, discard the outermost narrow parts.

We put the wings in the marinade and keep them in the refrigerator for 4-24 hours. Take the wings out of the fridge an hour before cooking.

Line a baking sheet with greased foil or a silicone mat. We take out the wings from the marinade, shake off the excess marinade. Lay the wings on a baking sheet with the "pretty" side down. Place in preheated oven at 200 C (400 F) for 20 minutes.

Flip the wings over and return them to the oven for another 20 minutes.

We have a tradition on Fridays to cook something like beer, for beer. Yesterday we baked wings in it. Very tasty, I must say. It just takes about 2 hours, but it's worth it. Meat, beer, a good movie (no, we're not hooked on futurama) - let the weekend come!

The recipe was invented spontaneously, honestly. But I weighed all the products, and therefore here is their exact amount:

  • 500 g wings
  • 3 large cloves of garlic (you can add more for spiciness, they came out a little spicy in our case)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper (I took a mixture of five peppers)
  • 1/2 cup light beer

To begin with, we make a marinade, for which we rub the garlic on a fine grater or finely chop, mix with salt and pepper, grind everything:

We wash the wings, dry them on paper towels and put them in a bowl and mix thoroughly with the marinade, leave them like this for 30-45 minutes, for 15 minutes at the end we set the oven to warm up to 220 degrees:

Our wings are infused, the oven has warmed up, it's time to put them in a mold and pour beer:

We put all this beauty in the oven for 40-50 minutes. Periodically it is worth turning the wings over, we did this about once every 10 minutes. Better not be distracted much from the oven, keep an eye on the wings.

We did not bring the wings to a brown crust and got them in this form:

In addition, while the wings were preparing, we made French fries (tried):

The wings turned out very tender, slightly spicy and insanely tasty:

We used ketchup and cheese sauce as sauces (I will post the recipe later)

Friday was a success, goodbye weekdays!

Bon appetit!

Chicken wings are chicken offal, but they are no less popular among housewives than the more noble parts of the chicken. The most delicious wings are baked, and pre-marinated in various mixtures. They are baked in the oven, in an air grill and even on coals. The most important thing is not to overdry them. They are eaten just like that, served with a side dish or, as a snack, with beer. They go like seeds! This time I cooked at home in the oven, but you can pickle the wings and take them with you to cook the wings on the grill on the fire. Then it will certainly succeed.

How to pickle wings in beer, recipe with photo step by step:

Wash the wings, dry and cut into segments at the joints. Do not use the tips of the wings (similar to a claw).

Wash the green onions, dry with a napkin and cut into thin rings.

Put the chopped wings, onion, turmeric, black pepper, mustard and salt in a bowl.

Blend the mixture very thoroughly. To prevent your hands from getting dirty with turmeric, you can put on rubber seals.

Pour in the beer.

Mix everything and marinate in this composition for 1 hour, putting the dishes in the refrigerator.

Arrange the wing pieces on a wire rack set on a baking sheet. Wings are not very tight.

Bake the wings in the oven, heated to a temperature of 200 degrees, for 40 minutes. You can also bake it in an air grill or place it on a charcoal grill. If you cook the wings on a fire, do not forget to turn the grate over from time to time so that the wings are evenly fried on both sides.

Serve with a side dish or as an independent dish, add your favorite sauce.
