- 2-3 cloves of garlic;
- 1 tbsp. l. butter;
- 0.5 tsp vegetable oil;
- 50 g of hard cheese;

Wash the chicken fillet and pat dry with a paper towel. If you bought a frozen breast, be sure to take it out of the fridge ahead of time so it can come to room temperature before you cook it. I do not advise you to resort to the issue of defrosting with the help of a microwave oven - it is still better if the process is natural. And I also don’t recommend the option of lowering the fillet into hot water: this will have a terrible effect on the taste of tender chicken meat.





Very often there are places with blood and pieces of fat on the chicken breast. We carefully cut them off and safely throw them away: it is better to cook fillets without them.





Cut the chicken fillet into two parts so that 2 layers are formed. It is not difficult to do this, because chicken meat is cut easily. The main thing is to arm yourself with a sharp and large knife, and you will succeed.







Salt and pepper the fillets to taste. Do not forget that you need to do this on each side.





For baking, we need mushrooms - champignons. Great, if you have fresh champignons in the refrigerator, then you just have to wash and cut them into neat plates. This time I used pre-cut and frozen mushrooms (I store them in this form, because it’s very far and inconvenient to go to the nearest store in my house, otherwise I always know that it’s enough for me to get the mushrooms out of the freezer and defrost). Frozen champignon plates are the same as fresh in taste, only a little darker.





Peel the garlic and cut into small cubes. We cut it - the option with a garlic press will not suit us in this case.







We put the pan on the fire, put the butter on it. When it is completely melted, add the garlic to the malo and, stirring, lightly fry until light golden.





Lubricate the baking dish with vegetable oil and lay out the layers of chicken fillet.





Pour melted butter with garlic on top of the fillet so that it covers the maximum surface of the fillet. If some of the oil drains into the mold, it's okay.





We spread the plates of champignons on the fillet. We try to do it carefully so that when finished, our dish looks appetizing.







Three cheese on a medium grater. Strictly speaking, the size of the grater does not matter much: it will be a large grater or a small grater, it does not matter - the cheese will still melt in the oven.





We spread the cheese on top of the mushrooms, distributing it in an even layer, without gaps.





We close the baking dish with a lid or foil and send it to the oven, heated to 190-200 degrees, for 25 minutes.





The chicken fillet will definitely be cooked during this time, and the cheese will even more melt, forming a delicious hat.

Tips & Tricks:
If you like the cheese crust on this type of dish, then do not cover the form with foil - the cheese will melt, harden and brown much more. But I prefer it to just melt.




In season, you can add fresh tomatoes to this dish: they need to be cut into circles or cubes and put on the chicken fillet in front of the mushroom plates. Juicy and fragrant tomatoes will only decorate the fillet and give it a special charm. But once again I will warn you: in winter, when the tomatoes are “plastic”, this is not worth doing: you can just spoil the dish, and not improve it.
