Recipe 7 - New Year's Caramel Apples

This wonderful tradition of making New Year's apples came to us from the west. For Christmas and New Year holidays, they are prepared by all American, English and French housewives. Children simply adore apples cooked in caramel. They can also be made as a small holiday gift.

Required ingredients:

  1. Small apples twelve pieces;
  2. Sugar four hundred grams;
  3. Lemon juice thirty ml;
  4. Vanillin;
  5. Liquid food coloring, red;
  6. Olive oil.

Cooking

Wash apples and wipe dry. In order for the caramel to lay down as best as possible, the apples must be absolutely dry. Thread all the apples onto special plastic tubes or wooden skewers, which are often sold in the departments of the store for the holidays.

Pour lemon juice into a deep saucepan and add sugar. Put the saucepan on a slow fire, stirring systematically with a wooden spoon. After the sugar is completely dissolved, add the dye and vanillin, mix everything thoroughly and remove from heat.

The dish on which you plan to spread apples must be greased with olive oil, so the finished dessert will not stick to the dish too much.

Dip apples generously in caramel, give them a little time to drain a little and set them on a dish. If the caramel begins to thicken strongly, then it must be put on a slow fire.

Ready apples should dry well, and the caramel should become hard. For a brighter and richer taste, it is recommended to dip the apples in caramel twice.

After the caramel shell on the apples is completely dry, they can be beautifully packaged.

Recipe 8 - Caramelized Apples with Coconut

  1. Five apples;
  2. Sugar four hundred grams;
  3. Water one hundred ml;
  4. Coconut shavings.

Dessert cooking

Thoroughly wash, dry, and pierce the apples with long skewers, from the side of the stem. We check the reliability of fastening, and if the apples have a wax coating on top, then they additionally need to be doused with boiling water and dried well.

Mix sugar with water.

We put the mixture of syrup on a slow fire and bring to a strong boil. We do not cover the saucepan with a lid, in order for the liquid to evaporate completely, we systematically stir the sugar syrup.

After evaporation, the syrup will begin to crystallize. We continue to stir, but do not remove from the stove.

Now we need to act quickly. Dip the apples into the hot caramel so that the apples are covered on all sides with the mixture.

Ready apples are placed on a pre-cooked oiled dish. The oil will keep the apples from sticking to the plate.

Wanting to decorate the dessert, dip the still hot fruit in coconut flakes, or poppy seeds, or any chopped nuts. The caramel shell quickly vitrifies and cools, so this work must be done without delay.

Apples in caramel is a very original dessert, it is able to decorate not only a youth party, but also a family feast, where it will definitely please the innate sweet tooth with its great taste.

Recipe 9 - Apples in caramel with honey

Ingredients:

  1. Three large apples;
  2. Ground cinnamon five grams;
  3. Butter thirty grams;
  4. Sugar twenty grams;
  5. Honey fifty ml.

Cooking process

The result will be very original if you use apples of different colors.

Wash apples very thoroughly. We make a thin incision around the stem and remove the entire core. Mix sugar, honey, cinnamon. Place the resulting mixture in the middle of each apple.

We heat the oven to two hundred and twenty degrees.

In a heat-resistant form, lay out all the apples with a cut top, pour quite a bit of water into the form.

On average, bake for seven minutes, it depends on the size of the apples.

Melt the butter in a saucepan, but do not bring it to a boil. Add the rest of the sugar and honey. Mix everything thoroughly and reduce the heat, cook until all the sugar is dissolved and turns into caramel.

Remove from heat and pour caramel over baked apples. Before eating apples in caramel, you need to allow a little time to cool.
